  • he is without peer.

  • Is this in someone's garage or what? This is why I love Joe, seems like no matter how big he gets, he'll play anywhere, anytime!

  • There is no doubt that Joe can play and sing it all baby

  • A master at his work!

  • some chick in the start sound fucked up

  • 7 people who listened to this had their sound off. There's no comparison to Joe's quality, style, and performance. He's not one of the best... he's THE best. Period.

  • Every one has a right to their own opinion, but as for me, Joe is the man for this song, just like he is for every other song he plays and sings, he always elevates whatever he takes on, to a higher level with his voice and his lightening licks.I'd rather listen to him sing this song all day long, above anyone else out there right now that might try to tackle it.Joe is the real thing, nothing fake or phony about this boy, they just don't come no better with guitar and voice. Hot as they come.

  • A little too many notes for me. I like more sparing styles Like albert King. So few notes , so much soul per each.

  • I like to go to You Tube or Pandora and listen to a little Bonamassa in the morning. It jump starts my day; better than coffee :D

  • Great music, unfortunate filming technique.

  • I love the focus on bass and keyboard too for a change! The guitar will be all the more sweeter with even more division!

  • This soulful cover kicks major @ss. Joe is the king.

  • I like Joe Bonamassa's guitar work better but BB King's voice is much better...

  • @JinheneMongol BB is king ...:P

  • ONe of the Greats Ever...its a great song but JB is able to make a simple song sounds great... but this tiems the Song is great too... Good save the BB King

  • Oh my god. This gave me chills and I'm still chillin'!

  • he sounds exactly like bb king

  • @bluesxyzify Wow...you might need to get your hearing checked! While Joe uses some of BB's signature licks, the playing styles are staggeringly differantly in this song. The vocals here are pretty good, but nothing close to the King....guitar goes to Bonamassa though

  • Wow early Joe,not enough video's of when he was young and when you find one the sound is good and somebody thinks their a camara is a toy, what a shame, would have been nice to see some decent footage.

  • Have u guys heard of John Frusciante? Not really considered part of the blues genre but when he plays live, particularly when he was still a member of the peppers would blow u away. He incorporates a more psychedelic feel like Hendrix

  • He looks a lot better now but sounds just as good!

  • i want an mp3 of this song so bad, anybody know where i could find one?

  • 6 persons haven't ears to listen this

  • when has been recorded?

  • Awesome! Check out my Artist/Guitarist/Virtuoso MARC ERIC. He will be touring RIO

  • How come Joe needs at least 5 times as much notes than BB King to express the blues feeling with his guitar????????

  • @Bluesblaster

Because he has a different style.

  • @Bluesblaster

hey, joe is the man! but only man, don't start comparing a man with a god :)

  • @Bluesblaster

I present to you...Bluesblaster...the "Purist Asshat" performing such hits as "I know what the blues REALLY is...you don't"...and who could forget his timeless classic: "I was listening to the REAL blues before you were born"..and this massive hit: "REAL men don't use pedals...pedals is cheatin' cause I'm real and you're fake"...and this: "I'm so insecure because nobody taught me what integrity is...so I have to force it down yer throat". Order now. Price: 10 cents per dozen.

  • @Sn4pDr4gon Thanks for your comment showing your deep psychological insight. But as a matter of fact, you must have noticed that I was merely asking a simple question. At least Spuddy 92 took the effort to make the right answer: "Because they have different styles".

  • @Bluesblaster

Great response asshat. Hats off to your monumental dipshittery. I am excited that you could actually read and respond (in some sense) to what I wrote. You know...maybe monkeys aren't so far off from humans, intellectually, as we think.

  • @Bluesblaster

P.S. Especially at age 59, you know the difference between patronizing someone and not knowing what's going on. So, from the bottom of my heart, go fuck yourself. Your passive aggressive bullshit doesn't warrant an insightful answer from anyone. Seriously, go jump off a bridge, fucktard.

  • Simply a treasure.

  • as always, he will have haters as much as lovers...

  • Not saying this isn't great. Maybe goes overboard a little bit, but watch BB and Gary Moore together. Equal to or better.

  • Video sucks, I'm sure the camera man thought he was being artistic and such but luckily Joe Bo is so phenomenal that he more than makes up for it!

  • APPALLING.....now where is my copy pf BB King Live at the Regal ? Lets hear the real thing--so much more class.

  • @stratking69er

you're an idiot....this guy is in the top 5 best guitar players in the world.

  • @infinityjet

and you are a mindless tosser who has been roped in by this classless twat ! If you had even the slightest knowledge of the subject, you would never make such a purile claim. Now go away and squeeze your spots or mime with a tennis racket to a Bonomussu track.......or whatever simpletons do in their own privacy !!

  • @stratking69er

have you ever listened to him nowadays? he IS the best in the world. no doubting.

  • @infinityjet He's very VERY good and he deserves every bit of the success he has had but I can name 99 guitarists who put him to shame. Still being in the top 100 is quite an accomplishment.

  • @MasterOfSparks please enlighten me

  • @havokewf90 Well of course its all a matter of taste isn't it? I'm pretty new to Bonamassa but judging from this version of "The Thrill Is Gone" I just don't think I'd have that much trouble finding 99 tracks in the history of guitar that impress me more. Feel free to disagree with me. Lots of people do. If you're looking for some material you may not be familiar with check out Rory Gallagher "Heaven's Gate", "Shapes of Things" by Jeff Healy, or Gary Moore playing "Red House" at Wembley.

  • @MasterOfSparks you're a prude

  • @stratking69er

i think you need to take your jealousy somewhere else:)

  • @stratking69er wow...Such a scathing comment seemed unnecessary to me, but to each his own. "Classless twat"??? I did not get that vibe at all from this video. Joe is an amazing guitar player. Please, enlighten me as to what constitutes "classless twat" to you. I'm curious if nothing else.

  • @stratking69er Your an idiot! B.B. is awesome yes but Joe is far from appalling! What's appalling is morons who can't even dream of coming even close to this level of talent opening their mouths and saying stupid crap!

  • @tbone19681 why do so many of you think you always have to let eveyone know they arent on whoevers level. enjoy the damn music. check your ego at the door please

  • @stratking69er

Joe Bonamassa, when he was around 9/10 years old, OPENED for B.B King. King appeared on Bonamassa's 2010 album Black Rock. B.B. King says Bonamassa has huge talent and he is right, as of now he is the king of the modern blues. Truly a talented, unique player, yet with the occasional nod to his forefathers in the genre. You have the cheek to say this doesn't have class, best clean your ears fast buddy, you're missing a true talent, which in the days of Simon Cowell, is rare.

  • @JohnML ... He was 12...

  • hey guys, thanks so much for your support. Please go to the Official Joe Bonamassa YouTube Channel and subscribe!

  • This guy is quality!

Seen him live 3 times and he was awsome................... the future of guitar playing!

  • JoBo is da man...

  • freakin awesome!

  • I love small club jams!

  • Damn I would love to jam with this band!

  • He is the man....I love his feeling...

  • wow

    i got the chills

  • Excellent performance

  • gretch with bigsby?

  • And BB is smiling! And so is everyone else listening to Joe.

  • Since I have last made comment on this elevated master piece of blues by Joe Bonamassa, I have been down numerous trails of listening to blues performers, and once again folks, look all you want, the best of the blues is mastered by this king of the blues, none other than JOE BONAMASSA. I will never find any blues player and singer any better than JOE THE MAN. I have enjoyed some others here and there, but none above JOE BONAMASSA. The boy is as bad as they come. Love you Joe, Love you much.

  • I can't really tell because of the video quality, but I think I have convinced myself that he is playing a Byrdland Florentine. Thought it was an ES of some sort at first but that thing is so big... anybody know for sure?

  • unfuckin real!!!!!!!

  • This guy doesn't miss a lick. Smokin'

  • I love Joe hes so genuine and passionate about what he does

  • The best cover of Thrill is Gone I have ever heard

  • Comment removed

  • One of the greatest songs ever written. And the best version I have ever heard. This should really be recorded.

  • My God!!! It's like a train wreck...I can't look away! Joe....You are the MAN!!! Holy cow! I think I just blacked out! WOOOOO!!!!

  • Joe is the MAN !!! Fantastic cover version of the BB King classic.

  • better than original, although bb still blows me away!

  • His voice sounds a little like BB's own. He even mimicks BB's mouth movements.

  • yeah it's scary how much he sounds like B.B. here

  • homeboy can play and sing the blues

  • Just listened to this song again, and will also probably hear it 500 more times or so. Joe has elevated this song to a higher dimension. Boy this kid has got it folks. I'm so high from listening to Joe play and sing this song, and most of the night has passed as I have went from one of his videos to another one, I just can't seem to get enough of his majestical magic of music that he puts on display. My finality is with Joe, please don't reccomend me to hear anyone else. Joe is the man.

  • amm....get a life!!

  • don't be close minded. there is always someone better.

  • @moseseseseses Sorry, but I will recommend just one person, you really wont regret it :-)

    Henrik Freischlader !

  • @moseseseseses I bet you're his mom aren't you?

  • Lol at whoever just recommended Holdsworth to the Bonamassa fans. They're both fantastic, but totally different...

  • I have never heard it played or sung any better than this. No one, and I mean no one tops Joe Bonamassa with the blues.

  • aLLAN HOldsworth is good, you heard of him? Joe might be slightly better than him, if not in the same league.

  • I have never heard of Allan Holdsworth, but I'm now going to search youtube and look him up. Thanks alot friend, I do like to be informed as to who is out there on the blues scene, and what they are doing.

  • Listening with my dad, who is already a big fan after recently discovering there music and said exactly the same thing as LTDZach "wish i had found him earlier"

  • i'd recommend his new DVD live at the albert hall. Its great!

    Toby

  • Thank you for the recommendation & like every thing else I've already heard, I'm sure it will b great. Now I know what to get my dad 4 x-mas. Thanx again!

  • "Live from nowhere in particular " is a double CD that you just have to own.If you haven't got it ,get it on your xmas list now!

  • AWESOME!!!

  • Amazing, thats all I can really say for this one. Had never heard of this guy until last week, really wish I had found him earlier.

  • Better late than never.

  • great

  • This guy is awesome.. is a good interpreter.. i´m agree with keefek..!!

  • Great music! thank you!

  • Magic.

  • Mmmm. Joe Bonamassa is, for me, certainly the best blues rock interpreter, along with Davy Knowles.

Hey, don't hit me -- just my opinion.

  • Wouldn't hit you for that comment. Both are certainly great guitarists. Going to see both BB King and Bonamassa in concert next month. Can't wait.

  • Thats right brother.. this is the best..!!

  • thats more a fact than anything those are two great guitarists of the present day

  • Tip the band and Fire the cameraman! :-)

  • Great!

  • I love this song...and done by joe!..very good!

  • great version

  • absolutely amazing

  • Will he be the new Stevie? Another one in the same league, I mean...?

  • In terms of imitating Stevie's playing, I don't think anyone big does it as well as John Mayer (when he was younger he sounded *exactly* like SRV, now he tries to add his touch). However, in terms of innovating, I would say no one contemporary compares to Jimi & Stevie except for Derek Trucks.

  • sweet!

  • I LOVE THIS!! This is just perfect. joe is the man

  • I wish I would have found out about Joe Bonamassa a long time ago. I bet his parents are some of the proudest people in the world of their son. Joe is the man, and I mean, THE MAN OF THE BLUES. I would like to know Joe's personal email address, and email him and tell him how 7 days a week, he brings me into a daydreaming state of bliss as I hear him play and sing. Dig his voice, unbelievable. When you hear him talk, you wouldn't believe he has such a blues voice, and then when he sings, wow

  • @moseseseseses Joe has a facebook page. You can leave him a comment there!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Really the best blues since Stevie.....

  • all I can say is " WOOOOOOW",,,,he does good at no matter what he plays..

  • amazing!

    ...gives me the shivers.

  • what he need is more mileage..thats it

  • yeah like derek trucks they are both advancing players and derek truck loves that slide but i think joe still needs to find a unique voice on the guitar... not tone but writing style...both what each lack is a strong song writing style...hopefully more hendrix like

  • I am sorry, and not bashing you, but this comment is ridiculous! You obviously don't know what you are talking about, Done... He has played more shows than anyone close to his age! He had more mileage at 16 years old than most veterans! Just to let you in on the Facts. Much love, but this is not true. Show me someone with this kind of amazing phrasing and I will tip my hat! Although, You can't! Thanks, Z.. Not to mention, I played a show whit him and he is and amazing, supportive person...

  • he sounds so much like B.B. in this it's scary.

  • Yeah and look at his face. The exact same expressions and mouth movements. But he was his mentor, so just a tribute I suppose.

  • Cant wait for this guy too get older and even more experienced..! This is awesome.

  • amazing!!

  • THE BEST

  • I've been doing some research on this guy now for a few weeks and all i can say is that the guy is simply amazing....I have a video of me doing this but it just doesn't compare to this musical genius

  • Wait till you see him live!

  • Joe is a great musician!!!!!

    youtube.com/watch?v=A_sY2rjxq6M

  • Joe sings it well.

  • Great vid, but it doesn't even do him justice. Saw him live at Bumbershoot 3 weeks ago. WOW!

He opened up for BB King when he was eight years old.

Check out the YouTube video of Danny Gatton bringing Joe up on stage to play when he was twelve. Talk about your serious street cred!!!

  • just discovered this amazing talent...can't wait to see him in louisville in march... absolutely love him!

  • You WILL NOT be disappointed. Saw him back in August. THE BEST concert I have ever been to, and I been to some good ones! Met him and his bass player afterward. Great guys.
