I played one of these in Gaithersburg Maryland today, for the price I was very impressed ,the set up was dead on very playable neck, My main bass is a '79 Stingray and it will always be my main, but for for someone who just wants a descent fretless without spending a lot of money this is a good deal, pretty sure I'm going to buy the one I played today.
Hey there! I'm thinking of purchasing one EJM96 fretted bass as a take anywhere-play anytime workhorse. I'd like to ask if there's gonna be a review of it sometime maybe? I found only one video on the tube featuring some additional effects added to the tone and I'd like to hear the raw sound of the bass. Cheers!
Hiya dude, After buying a fantastic V100it last year after watching your demo and asking loads of questions which you kindly answered ive just ordered a V940B.
I really hope its as good as the V100 has been it really is a phenomenal axe and as good as any ive played under £500. I didnt go for fretless as ive never had a bass before and its mainly for my son anyway to broaden his horizon so to speak.
Do you think it will be a good bass to learn on? He is a fantastic guitarist for his age.
@vainparasite thanks for your kind comments. The V940 is a great bass, and can hold it's own against guitars at 3 times the price. Let me know how you get on.
@vintageshred71 Hi Gav, Its arrived and its absolutely fantastic, the fit and finish is even better than my fantastic V100 and it sounds absolutely awesome which is more to the point.
All i need now is to be able to play it properly instead of just plucking a few strings then gawping at it ;0)
Nice, good quality demo of the bass. I don't care how closely you can sound just like other famous bass guitarists. Any half decent bass guitarist can tell you are a very very good player. I got a Vintage 4 string active bass with a through neck about a year ago. It is amazing for the price. So just checking out the fretless ones now. Is it just me or have Vintage managed to crack their own distinctive sound with their picups. Really, nice sound and quite unique.
@psykotibubu no, I'm not proud of it. My demo is of the bass guitar, and not a demo of my skill in robotically recreating something by one of the greatest bassists ever note by note, even If I were capable of it. I'd be interested to how it should be done though, should you ever feel like posting anything up on your channel...
@vintageshred71 what the fuck youve obviously got talent my freind and you can obviously shrug the tossers comments off without caring about them so good on you pal,,,,ive been dying for a review ov this instrument so cheers and like the other sane people have said keep it up ,,,,i like your playing and i no everything :)
Man, those bass skills. And with a fretless! Seems like a nice bass also.

rippersk8er 5 months ago
@rippersk8er far East - either China or Indonesia.

@vintageshred71 Yeah, i know it's not a pricy bass, so i was thinkin' that it was made in asia, but indonesian's are better than chinese's

@AnjelicasBaby Thank you - I think Trev has done a great job with his pickup designs. Was it a V1004 bass you got? they are superb.
