That car must be reached in 1979 at the sixth Italian company serving Valparaiso Fire Department for almost 20 years. He was traded in 1998 to the second fire company in Valparaiso "Germania"
This fire engine was for many years the main fire truck of the German Fire Company in Valparaiso, Chile where all the main foreign comunities founded theirs own fire stations more than 150 years ago, so, in the XIX century the German flag was not yelow, red and black, instead was white red and black so the paintwork try to match to the old German flag colors.
Hi this car bomb presto service until the year 2006 in the body of firefighters valparaiso chile, came back to pay servisios along with 5 american, in valparaiso a recuerdan is because they are an excellent machines and vehicles that are not today compared with these machines
I didn't realize that any fire departments in Chile used fire trucks manufactured in the U.S. Is this a front line pumper? It looks like it is very well maintained.
Ward was a separate company, but founder Addison earlier worked at ALF with his dad and uncle. He used the money from a car dealership to start the Ward LaFrance fire truck company around 1918, and they churned things out into the late 1970s.

Ward LaFrance and American La France were 2 very different companys. I prefer Ward La France beacuse of their Chassis, it looks really cool (The New Engine 51 on EMERGENCY was a WardLa France. American La France is still in business but was bought out by Freightliner. WardLaFrance is currently out of business. If you want to lern more just use one of many search engines on the Web and search for Ward La France or American La Feance.
Yes, it´s the C series model cab introduced in 1957 by Ford, but it wasn´t only popular with American La France, is a model very used by almost all the american manufactures

If this is a 1977 C-800 (IIRC), the most powerful engine for it would be the 389XD or the 475 V-8. The 429 V-8 wasn't out for this until 1979.
ClassicTVFan82 4 years ago
It's probably a 429 now that I look at the front wheels, which would be a lot bigger, and the cab would sit a little higher if it had a 534.
seagravefan 4 years ago
I agree, if its got a 3208 its got floats, right?
b719 4 years ago
The front tires would be more flush with the edge of the wheelwell if it had a 534 or a CAT 3208.
seagravefan 4 years ago
Gotcha.
b719 4 years ago
I'll bet that the powertrain is a Cat 3208 (as Ford V-636) rated 210 HP, and mated to the Allison MT-643 transmission. Correct?
ClassicTVFan82 4 years ago
Doesn't sound like a 3208, probably at 429.
b719 4 years ago
OK. So a 429-4V to an MT-643, then?
ClassicTVFan82 4 years ago
It sounds like either a 429 or a 534. It's hard to tell when they're idling. It could be a stick, though.

What the hecks up with the ford cab?
