  • This was good! Reggie Watts is still my fav though o_O

  • Very, very awesome! Is there any alternative to the Echopolex that is either smaller or more affordable? Loopers like the Digitech Jamman simply don't offer the necessary versatility to give real dynamics to music, being able select different layers separately and reduce/reintroduce/modify them..

  • Very cool, but kind of repetitive. I felt like the song really started around 4 minutes.

  • This is beautiful, David. Atmospheric and evocative. Fabulous use of looping.

  • This is a awesome loop perfromance!

    cool!

  • Thanks for the awesome song, uve just got a new subscriber :)

  • Finally someone makes good use of the reverse function! GReat stuff man!

  • Very cool. I can just trance out with my loop station for hours sometimes...I don't have the awesome setup you have, but I'm working on getting more and more to add to the sound.

  • bacansisimo

  • Great stuff. Kinda freaked out by the sparseness of the creepy room you're in :P

  • Looks like too much gear and buttons for me to deal with. Sounds kinda cool though-- like some pink floyd.

  • Loved ur Playing... Where are you based??

  • why do chicks in meat dresses and no voice have to be famous when there are people like you making great music?

  • Nice work...real nice...

  • my friend has that thing by your feet i believe and he does some rad stuff, nice job though!!!

  • Awesome! I listened it from begin to end! You should really make a CD with this

  • Fabulous. MrFretDoctor is right, you can make a very good movie songtrack with it !!!

  • awesome!

  • Hey David. It's really funny, I have listened to this song about two years ago and keep forgetting about it. After a while, when I listen to Massive Attack, I come back to search for the video again. Is there any way to get a higher quality version of the song?

  • Hi there, Little question: is the echplex much more efficient than the Jamman Digitech? Great job really!!

  • You should make a CD of that... man, I could see that as a soundtrack for any cool movie. Out of curiosity, what is the big floor unit you have in front of the Echo Plex footswitcher?

  • @MrFretDoctor

The black box next to the echoplex is a midi foot controller which allows more direct access to the echoplex features.

  • @davoidof What is that big floor unit you have in front of the Echoplex foot switcher called? And what features does it control? AB

  • @AndreasBergset

The black box next to the echoplex is a custom made, midi foot controller which allows more direct access to the echoplex features.

  • so nice, i tried this to but it's very hard (if you like check out mine on my channel)

  • really good. I gotta post my vid soon I guess...

  • this made feel like i was playing a badass video game

  • this is fantastic!!!!

  • Very cool=)

  • And THAT's the power of Guitar for you!! Great work. Inspiring. Kudos!

  • Amazing!

    Simply amazing!

Can I be you? Just for one day?

    No joke!

If I could do just HALF of what you did, I would probably never leave the house.

I don't even know quite what else to say, other than BRAVO!

    Please post more!!

(And please teach us (or at least me) how to do this.)

    Thanks.

  • I could easily see this song on a TV show like CSI or ER.

  • fantastic!

  • one of the best mood ever heard.nice trick with pick on the body w\ delay!

    you fucking rock!!!

  • PEDAL EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!! SheeSh!!! You are so good my man

  • love it!! want more of this stuff!!!!!!

  • this could be music to the opening credits of a movie ... this is a tasteful use of effects. so awesome man great job!

  • Impressionante!

  • Hey fantastic work davidof. Would love to film something like this professionally...drop me a line (joshATmadmediaDOTcom) Cheers!

  • So nice. Ever better that some of the Manyfingers stuff

I'd like to know if the Echoplex had the abitily to reverse.

I have the jamman and it doesn't.

  • Very inspiring ! How do you do the effect at 1:40 and 2:14...I'm planning to buy the adrenalinn 3 mainly because of your vid....I do have a Jammam and wish to be able to jam creative things like you do ! I wonder if you could tell me more details about all the preset used in your video. Thank you so much

  • Really nice composition. A few vocal bits here n there would've added some more "dreaminess" I think. Very trippy stuff! :)

  • The stop (fill in with swell) part was cool. I have to learn that technique myself.

  • Awesome man. Very chill.

  • luv your set up and your style great to watch

  • hey david, could you please share what sort of signal path you are running?

  • Guitar with Mag Mic Pickup > Acoustimax Preamp > Adrenalinn II Processor > Mackie Mixer with FX > Echoplex Digital Pro.

  • Very nice in deed....................

  • What a coincidence! My name is David Young lol!

  • really beautiful, more please!

  • I have finally posted another looping performance. Check it out and let me know what you think.

  • Brilliant, a big fan of this approach to music making :-)

  • i can see this in house HHAHAH for some reason

    good shit bro

  • very unique style. I enjoyed it very much. Thanks for sharing.

  • Excellent!!!

    Thanks for sharing...

  • Lovely!

  • Haven't seen this in so long, forgot how impressive it was. You should do another one.

  • dude thats awsome u should start booking gigs

  • man this is fantastic, what do you do for a living? thanks mate

    berher

  • sweet and thanks - drop in from time to time and check out my looping vids. not quite this elaborate but fun loop stuff here and there...

  • These are all base things combined beautifully and prove the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. This is conceptual, cerebral, and sensual. This is art. Thank you for sharing yourself, David.

  • Just very nice my friend. Thank you for this nice trip you just offered me! I am a big fan, I have also this kind of aproach whith my guitar when I play alone and it was a pleasure to listen to you. Lilo, a french in greece.

  • Really enjoyed this, thanks

  • hey! great preformance! what make / model acoustic are you playing there? it sounds very nice!

  • Made me go out and buy a looper. Great work man. You have turned it into an art.

  • Awe inspiring.

  • Your looping performance is absolutely amazing and inspiring!

It puts me in a creative mood :)

    Thanks for posting! 5/5

  • Good stuff! Nice and moody...

Is there any improvisation in this or is it all precomposed and arranged?

    Thumps up!

  • This is pretty much pre-composed but because it is on the fly each perfomance would be noticeably different.

  • @davoidof

that's right, that's the point, live is live, no matter how many times you've played it...

  • wow, simply amazing.

Well done on a very good job. Hope to see more =)

    have subscribed, 5/5 fave.

  • This is brilliant, just brilliant! Awesome stuff.

For the tech-savvy amongst you, exactly what equipment is required to do this ?

  • Glad you liked the sounds. The set up is -

Guitar with Magmic Pick-up > Acoustimax preamp > Adrenalinn processor > Mackie mixer with FX > RNC compressor>Echoplex Digital Pro.

That's it. I have custom presets created in the Adrenalinn which is the key to the sounds.

  • Thanks for the reply. Sounds overly complicated (to me, that is). Especially with the custom presets bit. I am low-tech and would like to try some off the shelf items to see what they sound like.

Still love this tune and can't wait for you to come up with more. Cheers for now.

  • Great song. Thanks

  • Comment removed

  • That was great. Could have easily fit in as a piece from a film score. To build something as driving and structured as that on the fly.. great job. Beautiful work, m8. Hope to see more from you soon.

  • bro! u need more videos up!

    you're great!

hope u check out the video response i just did of a looping clinic i did...

  • Incredible. I love the effects

  • The best looping I've heard on youtube, hands down. Very Massive Attack like, but very deep and original.

  • Thanks for the comment. Now if only I could do it again. I'm workin on it.

  • I'm diggin this bro! great work!

  • awesome looping! you've got a ton of awesome effects to use. kinda looks like your in a dungeon in this video haha.

  • nice work!

wow reallly like that... come to florida!

  • i wonder when this guy is goin to perform or put an ablum out...... lets put the pressure on!!

  • Really Lovely!

  • Great sweet impro :-)

  • very cool man

  • You can buy a new Roger Linn Adrennalin III

for ? $375.00 new or buy a version II and update

the chip (actually two chips via upgrade kit)

for $99.00 plus shipping. On Roger Linn's web site it has info on the upgrade, and ? some

things to be aware of if you want to upgrade

and the unit you may buy used was not registered on their site (usually do that

for the warranty) the upgrade kits (as far as I know) can only be purchased from their site

Check out eBay for V I or II, this player is

    using VII

  • COOOOOOOOOL!

  • Very nice, i love the different sounds you got. What is your set up for this?

  • larivee guitar with a mic inside, right davoidof? and an echoplex... i gotta get one.

  • I don't understand where you get the drum sound and the amience 0:40...

What is your setup and how do you do that??? thank you very much.

  • he tapped the guitar rhythmically withh his hand and the mic picked it up he then used the looping sequence to process it like a drum beat.

he then did the same but by tapping the strings.

  • Re: set-up, The only piece I can say for sure

is a Roger Linn Adrenalin II (the box with the

yellow top) You can upgrade from a Version II

to a III for 99.00 plus shipping.Rare in that

    with other processors

(such as Line 6 Pod's, Digitech, Boss GT's

you buy a new one or stay with the one you have. The Roger Linn Adrennalin is is a multi dimensional piece

amp modeler, drum machine and beat synched

effects ++, I am going to upgrade mine (from a

II to a III very soon!

  • re: setup

I (to me) do not see the artist using the black box on the floor that often, ? another midi controller or a another effects unit or

the looper (as the LinnII does not have a looper in it) and it looks to new

(to me) to be a echoplex, I like the table with

the power supply on it, ++ idea (Get a Patent!)I think the gray box is a DI (and notice the lack of cables going out from the table so stuff is not hidden to disguise etc)

This is awesome, Adrennalin is main component

    plus the Artist!

  • what prosessors er you using?

  • it looks like a line 6 x3 pod live ??

  • No, it isnt.! There isn't a expressionpedal.

I, too, is interrested in knowing what processors are used. This is very cool.!

  • yes your right - ummmm?? - davoidof needs to put us out of our misery

  • A very fine piece of playing. I love the balance between the acoustic sounds and the more processed bits.

  • BRILLIANT.... whats the processor sound at 1:57

  • That's some well organized sound. I can hear how your thoughts are communicating with one another...how you lay out a thought...analyze and question...sometimes reflecting...slowly fabricating a structure within your soul.

You must share what equipment you are using as part of your "thought-emotion transducer".

you achieving missing elements from my own sound.

  • Beautiful!! What equipment are you using?

  • this is amazing. goes on my favs! 5 stars!

  • Very nice. Thank you for this.

  • tasty. i do some crazy sounding stuff and it feels good to hear another far out brother!!! check out my looping clinic vid. peace...

  • The best guitar sounds i ever heard, man. Please share your setup with me. I'm doing the same thing, but don't have enough stuff for such sounds. But - i'm considering my final setup right now, so it would be great to now how you achieved such a great sound. I'm posting you a video response. check it out and write back, please. 5 stars.

  • Very nice sounds! 'J'm
