simply amazing! sub 101 thanks for all the videos, i myself do not train in anything, but have been a fan of bjj for some time now....i would like to train now because of your videos. Keith Owen & Pedro Sauer...two of the best teachers in BJJ history. nothing taken away from the Gracies...because they made bjj what it is...but i feel Professor Sauer and Own train with simplicity and pure technique. LONG LIVE GRACIE JIU-JITSU!
but why is the guy on top have his left arm on the right side when trying to mount? Shouldnt he have his left arm around his neck?then couldn't he post with that arm to prevent the sweep?
@Procrastinater09 The cross body position is pretty common. He could have possibly done that, but that's Jiu Jitsu. You have to know all options because who knows what the opponent is going to do. It almost like the positions in Jiu Jitsu are infinite.
This guy could roll for hours without breaking a sweat, his technique is silky smooth and the little detail like the hitchhike is just fantastic, every move he displays he always has a little extra like that. Brilliant.
hope all u people who train in virginia at mr. sauers academy realize how lucky they are . ur luckiers than the people who win the lotto . his teaching are priceless !!!!!!!!
I wanted to say yep My Brother there Pedro it is funny whenever you see him showing things the other persons belt just unties and just falls off. No matter how or what, not matter if it is slow or fast they just fall off. :)
@Momentimum Don't worry. The new generation of masters is pretty great as well. Just watch any Robson Moura or Marcelo Garcia video and you'll see jiu jitsu keeps evolving.
@Momentimum The amount or Martial Artists that compete in MMA is rather low. There will always be people who are enthralled by their art who will stop at nothing to perfect their technique. Even a lot of MMA fighters are passionate martial artists. Lyoto Machida, Damian Maia, The Noguera's etc
@metalmankeith I know I can't speak for everyone, but the majority of poster fighters in MMA crowds and competitions fit my generalization quite well. Most masters will speak ill of cage fighters because of their attitude of being the best in the world while fighting under conditions. Too many brawlers speak ill of traditional arts because the applications are either not there or hard to see/learn like aikido -- there's reason for that though -- which is a very effective form of SELF DEFENSE.
@Momentimum I agree with you. I've learned some Akido choke defenses and Grip breaks and they are quite useful. What I meant to say was the number of cage fighters compared to martial artists is rather low. Surely more people have walked into the local BJJ club because of the UFC, but that can't be a bad thing. I think the popularity of MMA will drive the development of BJJ and Submission Grappling beyond anything we've ever seen.
@metalmankeith I first heard of BJJ by watching UFC.. Then started to admire the grappling aspect of it, so i started training through it. Therefore I agree with you.
@scorcher165 Same! It's such a fascinating art. Even though BJJ is a furthering of my Martial Arts training as opposed to the beginning of it, I probably would have never heard of it without MMA. Even though the UFC and MMA has inspired me to begin training in BJJ, I don't think I'll ever be a cage fighter.
@metalmankeith Yeah it is fascinating, I love it how after every class I get a warm feeling when I think about all the new techniques I've just been introduced to and also when I think about how I'm going to improve . I don't think I would have heard about BJJ unless I started watching UFC either. But as for becoming a Mixed Martial Artist I'm not so sure either, although I really like MMA and respect all the Arts used in it, I'll have to get a good base in BJJ before I begin to contemplate it.
Right so Pedros second name; How do you pronounce it :P? Is it like Soya or Sour? or something else..
