  • lol the description ....... " they put wet tires and wipers on the cars and let them rip "

  • damn! Nascar at rain is soo bore

  • I still remember this race. Montreal is an amazing track and I might have to go on a killing spree if it's dropped from the schedule.

  • I hope that the Sprint Cup run in the rain.

  • at 8.56 at the top where the names are scrolling along theres a guy called gaylord lol

  • Wow, didn't know Villeneuve raced in this. Only just getting interested in NASCAR but its brilliant :D Odd for an English guy to like it though I guess ;)

  • @chegu071 Youll find there's alot more side by side action than F1 lol. Who's you fav driver?

  • I was there at that race. sat at the start/finish line. Crazy race: they would have finished that race if there where night lights on the track. Everybody was: cold/wet/tired. Best race probably I have ever seen: sun to start, then pouring rain. Only thing is: the race should have been finished. You had a sense that race was going to be cancelled because nascar delayed the decision (to go back to green) until the last minute possible.

  • You can see that they never have droven in the rain, they always hit the curbs.

  • If NASCAR was to improve the rain safety features (wipers and tires) the races would never be canceled...

  • 0:55 Why is Stanton Barrett's name not abbreviated?

  • @HarvestmanMan his father Stan Barrett is in the race as well, kinda hard to abbreviate their names and not confuse them

  • this is cool, does anyone else think this is so much cooler? i think watching slow racing in the rain is better than watching the normal race haha

  • Looks like villenueve didnt have a wiper! Talk about professionals!

  • @TheDaleEarnhardt I would imagine that with a Formula One world championship, Villeneuve has some idea on how to drive a race car.

  • its about time nascar grew a pair and did this

  • They did rain tires again this past weekend at Montreal

  • I hope we see a battle between Robby Gordon and Marcose Ambrose this year

  • Robby Gordon isn't racing there this year.

  • @AxelNewMedia Let's see you try it. 3400lbs cars are a bit harder to hang onto than supersized gokarts.

  • sprint cup could have raced today under rain at glen...

  • they dident have wipers

  • Oh boy would that have been fun!!

  • yeah but that rain was coming down HARD for like 20 minutes i was there

  • i know right. it would have been so cool :D

  • So cool, they need to have a Sprint Cup Race in the rain

  • lol imagine doing talladega in the rain. way too dangerous but its a thought.....

  • hmm might be some accidents lol can't slow down due to them embankement, they could do this though at Watkins Glen and smaller flat courses like Martinsville

  • yes Scott Gaylord

  • 1:00 lol Gaylord

  • #54....is his Name really Gaylord?! Oo

  • That's why you dont do 150 mph. It's the rain, you run slower. It's not a hard concept. You can't just slap on magic tires in the rain and do 190 again as you would in the dry.

  • why is there a windshield wiper on that car i thought didnt have those

  • This was the craziest race.

  • They could make them hold up, f1 cars make them got well over 150, the problem is the stock cars are so heavy, and they lean on the right side so much the tires would burn off in a few laps.

  • what about using rain tires, would that help?

  • I am a road racing fan, mostly a sportscar racing fan, and this was absolutely beautiful to watch. And good job by NASCAR actually USING the rain stuff rather than wimp out like this was baseball. I grown a lot more respect for NASCAR drivers for adjusting and getting acclimated to racing in the rain. This was fantastic to watch. However, some dope wrote a blog said that this race was a crying shame. More adjustments need to be on the cars to race properly in the wet, but still lovely!

  • It amazed me that Ambrose pulled away like 10+ seconds from everyone in one lap. I really like the way this looks though. I wish the Cup series would do something like this. Think of all the races we could see on their normal night if NASCAR can get this to work.

  • carl edwards rocks! he is very cool

  • I wish TNT showed this race. Then I could have seen it live (online stream - I dont get ESPN in the UK)

  • thats cool o its nationwide

  • watch?v=1UEOZGFzPas

  • NASCAR RACING IS THE Best.

  • I LOVE NASCAR! NASCAR DOES RULE. I am the number 1 Jeff Gordon fan.

I will now go watch Nationwide race.

  • im a gordon fan as well stay true to #24

  • I just wanna know how they guys with no wipers were able to see

  • Guys on the radio known as spotters tell them where they are.

  • One word: RainX.

  • Rain-X.

  • I wish NASCAR would use rain tires at the road courses during an actual points race in the Sprint Cup Series and just like yesterday they could of qualified in with rain tires but no NASCAR was to chicken shit to let Cup cars qualify on a wet track

  • aren't u so cool. being racist towards american bcuz 2 canadians dominiated one race in a sport called NASCAR...which is an American sport...ur such a fag grow up and realize NASCAR isn't all about road courses...now how about the "real" foreign racers on the ovals??? since when did they win???

  • I know, I think someone's feelings are hurt just cause their "real" racecar drivers cant drive ovals for shit. "cough" Villeneuve pileup *cough*

FYI craigg1981, you wont gain respect for yourself or "your" drivers just by intimidating or trolling. it just makes u look stupid. Also fyi, there were 9 canadians in that race and only 3 finished in the top 25....hardly what I call "beating" the NASCAR regulars. Go home kid, no one's impressed.

  • LOL doesnt this guy just crack you up. Omg Canadians are owning at their HOME TRACK, lol that must mean that Canadians own Americans on every other tracks too. LOL OMG this guy's logic is so great.

*cough* Villeneuve crashing out of Daytona 500 qualifying *cough*

    God ignorance is bliss

  • Wow, this guy sure is stupid.

  • Hello 16 cars finished on the lead lap and 28 cars finished within 1 lap...and I suppose Indy, Le Mans or Super GT drives faster on rain conditions? Do you even watch motorsports?

  • What about that Formula 1 2005 US Grand Prix fiasco in which their tires cant even hold up for 1 lap so only 6 cars had to start? Do you say F1 is stupid because FIA made such a big disaster?

Do you say the Le Mans is stupid just because of the 1955 Le Mans disaster that killed many drivers and 89 spectators?

Grow up kid. Your not making NASCAR look bad only urself. So they made a mistake, big deal it was their first time in the rain

  • @18carNASCAR He was defending NASCAR you idiot

  • @xcruzrr6 what happens when you dont read the comment fully my mistake, other comment taken down. I feel really dumb right now

  • @18carNASCAR You big dumby lol

  • man it was awesome seeing race in rain tires in the rain. I loved it. They should do it more often when it rains :).

  • I guess they will do it =)

the race was a huge sucess among the fans

  • About god damm time NASCAR races in the rain

  • finally NASCAR did something good after that race of crap we saw at Indianapolis

  • thought that nascar wasn't supossed to race in the rain because of the risk of crashes and injuryes

  • No that's not why they didn't race in the rain. F1 race in the rain and they go much faster. If you have rain tires, and windshield wipers then ur fine NASCAR was just reluctant before in implementing that

  • That's only true on the ovals, where the g-loading on the right side tires would prevent Goodyear from designing a rain tire for the ovals. On a road course, you aren't putting the same amount of stress on the right side tires, so you'll be able to run them without wearing down the treads.

They ran a couple practice sessions in the rain during an exhibition at Suzuka, but that was the first actual points race that was run in the rain.

  • Wrong.

There was a Canadian Tire series race at Mosport that ended in the rain, before this race

  • You sure that's a NASCAR-sanctioned series? And even then, we're talking about the three premier series (Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Craftsman Truck) here...so even if it had been done before in a lower division than that, this would still be recognized as the first major stock car series to actually race in the rain.

  • People still call it CASCAR even though it's a part of NASCAR now.

  • good race but i was hoping for Ambrose to win

  • I hope they would do that with the sprint cup at a speedway that would be awesome!

  • it would be awesome if they could, unfortunatly with current technology its impossible to build a wet tire which won't disintigrate under the forces they're slammed with on superspeedways.

  • nah not speedways that dangerous with the hydroplane factor, but road courses yeah!!

  • for watikins glen would be awesome

  • that was a good race it was kool to see that
