  • First impressions are brilliantly comfy seats, lots of rear leg room for the kids, good boot space, bloody easy to drive and park (rear camera is ok) fuel economy is good, averaged 50.5 on a 150 mile run yesterday) - though throw in a lot of short runs this will drop. satnav is fine. sound system is great. best bit is 5 YEARS WARRANTY - also bought first 3 services for £360 up front means nothing to pay until 40'000 miles. Nice when you have a young family and dont want any shocks.

  • I have this car with a wee bit more spec than this. I too am a mobile engineer. The car is average. nice toys but no character and the engine is flat tbh. engine comes alive at 90 mph so top speed very good. sound proofing crap too. Toys are very reliable although door locks have a mind of their own. I had the 2.0 TDI passat before this one. Much better car. but hey i didnt pay for it. tax is not bad

  • The steering wheel is on the wrong side ...

  • @pissigubbe It's a Japanese car, and the Japanese drive on the same side of the road as British, therefore, it is correct :)

    thank you

  • @bronzemoontr

My colleague has a Passat, however I prefer the Avensis over the Passat, the model I choose came with a lot of extra's with no extra cost ! but the ride is very comfortable, and very spacious... i cover 50-150 miles a day as I'm a mobile engineer!

  • my ipod does not work in usb mode it only works in aux mode which is a pain because you have to control it by working the ipod by hand and not through the stereo.I see toyota do a usb adaptor for £140, does anybody know if this would work the ipod through the stereo?????

  • @rsg666 Not sure i'm afraid... wish I knew a way to get this to work via bluetooth tho =/

  • @JenniferandNeil I bought a flashdrive for £18.00 with space for 2600 tracks and transfered all my music to it,plugged it in to the USB port and it works a treat .Have ditched the ipod now, cheers.

  • that button on the roof btw, is if say you lock the car, and someone remains in, pressing the button will disable motion detection. probably useful if you have a dog lol

  • @donking2000000 Thanks for that info btw :D always wondered and still haven't googled it ! very handy to know as in future when we get our own place we would like to get a dog ! so yea ^_^

    Thanks for the feedback :D

  • @JenniferandNeil No problem. Can I ask you to check something next time you go for a drive.

When using climate control with direction setting set to "Feet and windscreen dimister" in manual mode, when I press the auto button the direction changes but I would like it to stay on original direction.

If your one is the same then I may not go to the dealer and enquire.

  • @donking2000000 Mine does the same too :P

Auto takes full control of everything even where the air directs to =/

  • @JenniferandNeil I feared as much lol

  • Love the car ^^v
