@HerrWarja Its a pedal that opens up the swell shutters (literally wooden shutters like on a window) that are covering the strings of the instrument. Pianos for a time also "grew" all kinds of strange pull stops and pedals including one that put a piece of parchment paper down on the strings to create a buzz.
@HerrWarja The pedal are alike those on pianos but have differente effects... they where usually used to control registration, or stops. I've never seen a sustain pedal in a harpsichord and I don't think it exists because in harpsichords the dampers are connected directy to the jacks, you release a key and the dumpers hit the string. it is part of the harpsichord's nature and playng.

I read the description. Does this harpsichord have a pedal. A pedal like a sustain pedal of a piano? Never seen or heard a harpsichord like that!
