It pools $, then disburses it. One alots $ from a chosen retirement age(62, 66, 70) then issues a check. The other uses $ for any visits, illness, surgery, or pills you buy. The key is wokers today paying into the system.

American's understand that both Social Security & Medicare are paid by payroll taxes. Which means in both accounts, you're paying into a government run system. They're no different in theory. It pools $, then disburses it. One alots $ from a chosen retirement age(62, 66, 70) then issues a check. The other uses $ for any visits, illness, surgery, or pills you buy. The key is wokers today paying into the system.

Economic anger marked the mood of Tuesday's off-year voters, portending real trouble for Democrats in 2010. Gubernatorial elections in VA and NJ looked more like a referendum on Barack Obama and his unpopular policies.
In VA on Tuesday, voters who were "very" worried about the economy supported Republican winner, Bob McDonnell by a wide margin, 76-24%. In NJ, voters who were most worried about the economy backed Republican Chris Christie by 59-36%.
It's all Obama's fault for socializing us.

Democracy is good when people are at least decently educated.
I hope that the next big thing after Healthcare reform will be education reform. USA is way behind on high school and middle school education. Stupidity got so big in America that Republicans are specifically targeting it as major demographic group.

The last pres said we needed to have our kids and his military profiteers invade two countries or we'd die from terrorism. Now we can't leave. This pres says we'll die of spiraling costs if we don't have gov't run healthcare. Where does this one go? The fear her constituents speak of is legit. Wanting freedom of choice does not mean one wants harm to another - it's about getting the best for the most.

This would not have happened if the insurance conglomerates did not get so greedy and deny coverage to half of all Americans. America is tired of getting ripped off by greedy insurance companies. Now we are stuck with another lying president that was elected to stop the costly wars. I never said I couldn't get health care, I have health care and it costs me exactly $54 a month and I can not be turned down because I get cancer or some other condition that some insurance exec decides to label a pre-existing condition in order to protect his profit margin.
But that is because I live in Canada ;)

Do you understand how insurance works? a bunch of people put money in collective pool, and then when some of them get sick, they take out from the pool.
So if you pay for ANY private insurance, guess what? the sick person is using YOUR money when he gets coverage.

I am fully aware of what MANDATORY means, which is precisely the opposite of the word OPTION in the Public Option proposal.
As for your car insurance argument, it's a strait up logical fallacy. Car insurance is mandatory by law in most states. Try telling your argument to a police officer or a court judge, see what it gets you.
By that same illogic, I could get away with murder: "your Honor, nobody forced the victim to walk into the path of the bullet from my gun"

Auto Insurance = you only need it if you buy an automobile. If you take public transportation, etc...then you don't need it.
