Why would someone say their first and last names to their mother. When she asks him a question of who are they after he said the plane had been taken over, rather than answer her question, he just repeats something he said before. Obvious to many this was not a real phone call.

Instead, she was taken by surprise that he said his last name too, and it made her laugh. Then he tried again, with, "I want you to know that I love you, mom". We don't know what happened inside the plane, but for some odd reason, I'm imagining someone pointing a gun at his head and saying "Don't say too much!"

As for the black boxes, the goal was to find survivors buried in thousands of feet of rubble. Instead, she was taken by surprise that he said his last name too, and it made her laugh. Then he tried again, with, "I want you to know that I love you, mom". We don't know what happened inside the plane, but for some odd reason, I'm imagining someone pointing a gun at his head and saying "Don't say too much!"

As for the black boxes, the goal was to find survivors buried in thousands of feet of rubble. Entirely possible that the black boxes are in that landfill at Fresh Kills, but the fact they weren't found proves absolutely nothing.
