The single was released in 1981 - I have it on 12". The b side was "Splintered In Her Head", and on the 12" there is also a live version of "Primary" I don't think it was ever on an album apart from compilations.
@MrBelorix It came out as a single. Between the 'Faith' and 'Pornography' albums. circa '81 It was never on an album. It was origanally written for Souixe when Robert and her were doing projects together. I know for sure it's on the "Standing of the Beach" album of singles and b-sides. Singles from '79-85. Great buy! The B-sides are awesome songs that don't get much attention.
Really cool video... I could just listen to th eCure all day... after 30+ years... still I love hearing all their songs... this one however.... is absolutely wonderful. Brings back good but sad memories.
@fanofthenote71 Hi mate, do you mean the album was released in 86 because I'm pretty sure I've got an old copy of the single from much earlier. Absolutely fantastic song full of memories and unfulfilled dreams
The Cure and my experience of them is so multidimensional, I mean I went to the concert @ Pantages in LA and heard these songs and now listening to them it brings me to a whole different place than I was that night its really amazing to be a fan of this artist....phenomenal really
I am not sure now...I have never had the luxury of watching this VHS. They have it used on AMAZON if you still want to get it. If you find out that it is on SATS please let me know!
Bizarre, unusual but unique still pictures. The images goes well with the song! Thank you for the great video! Seems like no one has the official video for this song??
@Cavscanclinch There is no "official" video of the song. Was a BSIDE of Faith. Was played a fair amount live back in the day and most recently at the Reflections concerts as an encore.
@jam6va Are you sure about that? I had the VHS tape of Staring At The Sea that had this video. I recall the video as having a young pretty girl (in a dress) walking around a mansion (alone) with a solemn look on her face. Looking at her self in a mirror or walking up the stairs but i dont recall the band ever being in the video. Of course this is 20 years ago. Who knows, maybe you are right. If i did not get rid of that tape ;-)
Love the Cure! There is one of their songs though that I cannot recall. I have only heard it once and I cannot bring a single lyric to mind, but I think it was something along the lines of she's incredible? Does anybody know what song that is? My friend was positive it was the Cure.
I can't check right now but I think if you go to kiss me kiss me kiss me you will chance upon it. I would even bet it is in the first half, I had vinyl! I will investigate and get back to you
Love this video!!! Best one on YOUTUBE. I'll be seeing THE CURE Nov 25th @ The Beacon Theatre NYC...j'adore this song! Hopefully, they will play it in the encore:-))))
@kllr79 - On the contrary...this video is great! The idea behind music... it's about art and conveying and commenting on human emotions, right? Well...at least good music...like this song...
I'll bet Robert Smith would like this video. Good job, MrBelorix.
d**m, i think the cure would be horrified by these comments. this was a space in time, meant everything to every little girl..............doesnt matter what album version, what concert, etc..........i promise you, if you have a girlfriend, this song matters. Listen to it.
Sometimes I dream, baby...for all the other people who dance. It sounds so strange and the same...........Charlotte, sometimes, it looks like everything else. BUT SOMETIMES i DREAM......
@MissCureCrazy Hi... Charlotte Sometimes is a single from the album Faith, but it isnt on the first record because Charlotte Sometimes was released only as a single. Although, you can find it on the compilation Join the Dots or the Deluxe Edition from Faith. Cheers!
