Can anyone tell me the name of the early Craig Ferguson tv show where he plays a manic street preacher who lays his his healing hands on the head of a man only to discover that the man is afflicted with a chronic case of head-lice? A magic moment when Craig shouts, "Ya durrty wee basturrd!"
i love craig! i remember back when he refused 2 make fun of Brittney spears after the gimmi more performance, but here's the thing i gotta side with charlie, i dont think he's having a mental breakdown, he's just fed up with the bull shit around him....and come on he's winning isnt he?
It’s sad isn’t it? So much compassion for Brittany and Charlie who make over $20 million a year. Yet, the once, middle-class Americans who go to sleep hungry and homeless – Sssssh, Keep it a secret.
The saddest part about this, some talk show host crazed fan, will rebuttal me with insults, because freedom of speech is only for celebrities and talk show hosts and fans that agree with them. The sheeple have been taught well.
If you do drugs it is very likely you will become manic and or delusional and sleep patterns will go out the window - with regular sleep you could suffer all kinds of problems starting with bad decision making.
I totally agree, I think it is so sad the way we as human beings are making fun of someone that is in such a bad way. Thanks Craig, I adore you too...
Charlie Sheen is not having a mental breakdown. You people just don't understand how rich he is, or the fact that he's in the right on his contract. Just cause he insulted that moron Chuck Lorre, doesn't mean the guy gets to renege on his contract or CBS cancel the show. He's totally in the right, and you people need to get a fucking grip.
@atypicalalias You aren't too bright are you? Mr Sheen voided the contract several times with his idiot behavior, even before he went off to planet Crazy. The man is in serious trouble and if he doesn't get help soon he'll be dead. You really need to find another role model.
@aureliomanalo lol you dont even know the man. You're judging him from the image the sensation media hold in front of you. He also is an actor. No one knows to what extend the whole situation is reality.
@aureliomanalo I dont regard that quote as an absolute truth. Also, it does not say anything about Sheen's motivation which is perhaps even more important. And if this quote would be truthful, what would it say about you (regarding your harsh comment) ?
I feel that we as the audience created the Charlie Monster. 2 and a Half Men is utter crap, yet people kept watching - ultimately making him the highest paid actor on television. 1.25M an ep is grossly ridiculous, and having too much money given to someone who has a shady past...as if this WASN'T going to happen. Everyone, I urge you to stop tuning into his show - even the reruns!
Mental illness as a result of arrogant stupid behavior does not deserve sympathy; Charlie is in the shit-hole he created; pay your penny and laugh all you want as long as he does not collect royalties!
@MsWanderer1 I originally read that wrong and thought you meant that ALL mental illness is a result of arrogant stupid behavior and does no deserve sympathy, and I was incredibly offended. However, rereading your comment, I gave you a thumbs up (=
@mizarkey@ajgrotjohn Ok, I can understand that, but then he tells the audience "No, No, No". If he really wanted to do it, he could have just done it, and not said anything. He, or anyone here shouldn't fault the audience for laughing either. They are coming to a late-night show, even if it is Craig who sometimes is serious, and their expectations are to laugh. The small historical tidbit is not really a clue to them, or anyone, because he also does that when he is trying to be funny.
I saw Charlie a couple of weeks ago. he looked ill, physically, and said some things that were supposed to be funny, but weren't because of their context. while his behavior has gone on for far too long and is nothing new, he really seems to think that it's ok. that it's normal and that he can literally do whatever he wants. i'm glad Craig said what he said. while recent events may have been the line for him, i found that line when i saw how ill Charlie really is.
Btw, there are a dozen things that Craig still jokes about that aren't sensitive by his own standards. Randy Quaid and his wife were very recently living in extremely dire circumstances. Michael Vick's comeback was one of the most inspiring stories in sports this past year.
But that's Craig's thing. His character. Part of his deconstruction of the late night genre is running jokes into the ground.
I love Craig like many of you do. But this is NOT a Britney situation.
I know I'll get slammed for this..and my problem isn't really with Craig, it's more with the self-righteousness of most of the commenters here. I have a feeling that if instead of what he just said, he made jokes about him, everyone here would be lauding Craig over how funny he was. I love Craig, and think he's the best late-night has to offer, however I think it's pretentious to first make jokes about Charlie, as he admitted he did, and then he gets to decide where the line is.
@3rdEchel0n - He's just deciding where the line is for him...what makes him uncomfortable. He could have just stopped doing the Sheen jokes and not said anything about it, but I respect him for owning up to it and hopefully being a model for those in the business who don't have the self censor.
see, it take a discerning ear to taste that it is - indeed sweet water he flows - it is NOT both fresh and salt as one may mistakenly infer...#Craigyferg, you are one bada**, cool as sh** stand -up guy...
I wouldn't judge the studio audience too harshly... remember, there's a warm-up comedian who sets the mood before Craig ever steps on the stages and encourages people to laugh. ("Not just smile to yourself, but laugh out loud"). And that the longer monologue is taped before the cold opening, so they have ALREADY been laughing at Craig's jokes at this point. It's hard to switch that off immediately.
@dgoetze23 It's as if they went to the show and they're like "we came all the way to see craig and we're gonna laugh at every fucking word that comes out of his mouth even if it isn't funny". I probably am being a bit too harsh here but if you've seen lettermans apology video, the same thing goes there and i can't stand it =|
@TraceurMaaz I'm completely with you. The way they select studio audiences is by finding out who consistently displayed no signs of intelligence, then getting them to the studio. They're fucking shameful creatures.
@TraceurMaaz Your comment is dead-on. It's the same as when Craig spoke about Britney Spears' meltdown. As I watched this last night I felt quite touched and got really annoyed when the audience started laughing. I have a feeling Craig did too when it happened.
The first two minutes of the first LLshow I've seen in two months and I'm immediately remined of the reason why I love it so much. I've missed you, Craigy!
I sometimes consider myseld a mental person. I mean so many people are doing such stupid things, I begin to think that those stupid insane things are normal. Which means I'm an abomination for not liking those things.
His humor is grounded in truth and he reminds us that we need not become part of the problem, like the audience that watches "Two and Half Men." Craig is in a class by himself. Watc h his show. Read his autobiography. He's brilliant.
I agree that it's gone beyond poking fun at. But it is something that needs to be commented on, and held up as an example of what not to do. So I hope that he, and others, get a chance to do that.
i think i agree with craig,i didn't find what charlie was saying funny, as i have huge respect for chuck lorre a guy who created 2 of my fav shows.only someone having a breakdown would insult someone who has done alot for them and their careers. without two and half men, charlie sheen would just be another actor trying to make it, and not an actor who has made it. i love two and half men, but i feel uncomfortable watching it, knowing what is going on.
Why anyone would consider the mental breakdown of another human being as "magic" is beyond me. I'm just glad that someone I like, as much as I do Craig, has the decency to realize it's long gone past funny and is just sad.
@Punatik Sorry, thought loyal Craig followers would recognize a little bit of sarcasm. Also, I truly believe he's in control. He may hit a wall, but he knows exactly what he's doing. His shift in tone from the weekend to today on Stern is a prime example of that. At least I didn't get downvoted.....
