eee dear in't it lovely :). All the old boys round me speak like that still... apparently I'm not that far off myself according to my mates, still say chip oil, water's watter and father's... well you can't write it but you know what I mean. I definitely know people not much older than me in the north dales who still speak so strong it's almost another language, so it in't deein yet!
I'm from Yorkshire and I've only ever met old men that talk like this, it's no where near as broad these days. Although my dad does call it a 'chip oil'. Good video!
I am fascinated with accents. Always got A's for phonetics and accents at university. This is utterly mesmerisin'! I bleedin' luv it. Thanks for sharing :)
@oasis11991 i would consider it to be from sheffield cos thats were its from as am i it was ment as a joke of the old times i had the record all them years ago and if you realy listen its ment to be around 1900 well before hitler and other things but it was made in the early 70s i think but whot a great song
I love accents. I guess it is only an accent if you don't have the same one! Dang women playing bingo all day. I admit I had a hard time understanding it, but it was beautiful.
bless you for watching welcome to my world, it i quite hard to understand as i think it would be for me to hear an old mississppi story of fun and frolicks
@PalmOliveSoap it wasnt monty python as this was made by a true yorkshire man i forget his name and hovis i think took the tune from this but the tune was always around for years it was made by a old pit band and as we know there is no more pits mores the pitty haha excuse the pun hahaha
@dean11081988 i love accents. this is so cool. this is the accent that was used in narratives of so many cartoons like Tom & Jerry, Snow white, etc... ive heard this accent all thru out my childhood. cool accent lee!!!!!!!

This was absolutely fantastic, classic old boy story. Got the accent bang on too. The Hovis theme tune proper finished it off. *salutes.

I want this accent!!! I come from York yet have a very generic English accent (which is slowly being affected by the Kiwis :P)
But I've always wanted a proper Yorkshire accent.

YORKSHIRE!!! NOT MANCHESTER!!

Yeah that's a yorkshire accent not mancunian.
NaiveAmoeba 2 years ago
The voice is that of Tony Capstick, a folk singer and radio presenter who had a South Yorkshire accent. Nothing like Mancunian, I'm afraid
Manchester is, indeed, in Lancashire, but Greater Manchester comprises parts of south Lancashire and north Cheshire
