@xxmonickkkkaxx Yes, that very idea on athiestic universal declaration of human rights infers to senseless rights and freedoms - rights being privileges and vice-versa while omitting the moral obligations that come with them. When any person who comes to power (Stalin, Lenin, etc) values power over a quality of life, the quality of life becomes diminished. Atheism only recognizes rights for oneself, not for others.

It seems people tend to fail to acknowledge on all the many possibilities on how people can either succeed and/or fail to adapt to Soviet Communism, or any other type of social system to help maintain a level of structure and order in a country. Even more difficult when there are those who are against war vs. those believing it is necessary. It would be ideal to support both with ways for both ti contribute.

mansequotte I disagree with you. Slavery is alive and kicking right now 2008 in Judeo-Christian society and Islamic society. Its called cheap foreign workers. Many of these foreign workers, work long hours for a few miserly sum of cash. These governments pretend to know nothing. They know exactly whats going on. Its all done in the name of MONEY. People in high places turning a blind eye, just like the old days of forced slavery.

This is not slavery at all. There is always a choice whether to work or not, and with the state benefits in Christian influenced societies being the highest in the world, the option to laze around all day with your hand out like a parasite instead of working is a real one for more and more people. Personally I would bring back the principle from St Paul "if anyone will not work, neither shall he eat".

usenetposts, when you say state benefits, thats only for British citizens. I agree British born citizens can laze around all day and sponge of the state. But if your a immigrant worker your not entitled to state benefit. Foreign workers dont have this privilage. They have to work. Foreign workers many of them end up working long hours for a miserly amount. In America its even worse.

Usenetposts yes they do have a option to go home. But 'MONEY' keeps them here. They earn more here than their own country. The US/UK governments know this. Governments are expoliting this situation. Migrant workers boost the economy. Many of these factories exist because of cheap migrant labour. Without them these industries will close down. UK/US governments are behaving like wolves in sheeps clothing. This is a devious form of slavery.

usenetposts its not the love of MONEY thats the problem. The problem is these christian countries exploiting people from these poorer countries by not paying them a decent wage. Working them long hours and so on. I thought christinity is about treating people fairly and honestly. What I see is a lot of unfair treatment and exploitation. A lot of hipocracy going on here.

Well, it certainly means that you pay people what you say you will pay them, and that you give them adequate time off. However, the idea that Christian employers must be sugar daddies to their people is unrealistic when we live and work in a competitive environment. I work for a company where Christian ideals ARE put into action, but that still does not mean an easier ride for anyone. We are not all of a sudden in a non-competitive market just because we are a believing team.

usenetposts I thought the whole point of religions like christinity is to be compassionate to people. Christinity is not supposed to be a business. Its about fair play and all that. Unless christians these days are only picking out bits in the bible they like and leave out the bits that they dont like. i.e. Take the easy way out.

Christianity is not a business, but there are two ways of creating employment and work for people, and the one is to extend the state's activity, which can be very bad in the long term for that country, and the other os to have businesses. Christians are not able to do things their way except by owning their own businesses. If these businesses are successful, then they can do a lot of good to a lot of people. But they only get successful if people in the team all pull their weight.

Christianity is not a jobs program--far more profound. 'Tho following Judeo/Christian principles can be beneficial. Conceived in the divine, not the human, realm, a way for mankind to have relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. Slavery was oficially abolised by a British General who was a devout Christian - see the movie "Amazing Grace". Slavery DOES NOT exist in a Judeo-Christian society today.

The only place where you find slavery are Islamic societies, Atheist nations ( Eg : North Korea ) and even Hindu India, where the Dalits ( Untochables) are treated worse than animals by Upper caste Hindus ( many of these hypoicrites come to the west & try to depict a "flower-power" version of Hinduism ) - hiding the reality !
