@Bribri9330 I'm running essentially on old stuff and hand-me-downs! A lot of equipment has been leant to me long term by the singer from my dad's band. The drum kit and my guitars/amps are ours but we've had our AC30 since my dad was a kid. I got my MacBook as part of a design/technology scholarship I got and bought my interface very cheap online. You don't need a lot to get a good sound (although I can produce far better than this now), you just have to shop around! Lots of ebay and car boots!

As I didn't have a vocal condenser or even a decent dynamic mic I decided to use two pencil condensers angled down. It was that or a drum mic... @LesPaul209 To do something like this you'll need an audio interface with about 8 channels. Set up a metronome in a recording software and mic up the drums to begin (2 overheads, snare and bass is fine). Give the drummer some headphones and record the drum track. Mix the drums roughly until they sound nice. Do the same with the other instruments and then you need to mix down. I film as I record the tracks then manually match up the footage and the final track to get this kind of video :)
@bip01 My only vocal microphone at the time was quite a poor dynamic microphone so I thought I'd try a pair of condensers which sound great on their own but sound quite muffled in a mix... it was pretty good, tell the guitarist to to lose just a lil distorsion and the singer, dont change your pitch so much when you sing, the singer of foo fighters keeps at the same most of the time, but good cover

I've commented on your vid before and I'm gonna comment again... I've put this cover on my iPod it's that good.. (I've got 10 versions of Everlong on my iPod because it's f*ng awesome) your drummer is awesome and your guitarist has set up his guitar amazingly... it sounds exactly like Dave and Pat in the original! Not sure about your singers hand gestures but he's a good singer. Only thing I can say is next time- you all (especially your bassist) need to loosen off a bit and smile a bit more!

We've got better with our appearance on camera but it was something I did mention to the guys before we recorded, maybe they were just concentrating. @ParsoProductions People really need to try and understand why we do a cover... It's our own interpretation of the song and if that's how Alex sings it, it's how he sings it... He's not Dave Grohl, so he's not going to sound exactly the same. It's amazing how many people have trouble understanding this.
@MrJonzii94 Hi, I'd be very surprised if you can because not only do I hate and despise autotune and would never use it if I was paid, I don't know how to use it. @FishinGuitarMad Thanks so much for such an awesome comment and also for the subscription! I have no doubt that your band could pull this off if they put their mind to it. For us it was just to be the first thing we recorded together and also it's the first recording of a full band I've ever done myself. As for the palm muting I think I'm maybe just a bit prog-metal obsessed and couldn't resist it but I reckon that somebody a bit more creative could really do more with this song than I did.
Great job on the song! Sounds good except it seems like the instruments weren't mixed well. Seems like the drums were a bit too loud and bass was a bit quiet. Other than that it's a great mix and it sounds excellent!
@joerox135 This was my first ever full band recording and I didn't have monitors for mixing so I had to just use normal speakers and compare my mix to the original track which is less than ideal... I've since done far more recording and also have very good monitor headphones. As for the palm muting I think I'm maybe just a bit prog-metal obsessed and couldn't resist it but I reckon that somebody a bit more creative could really do more with this song than I did.

Great job on the song! Sounds good except it seems like the instruments weren't mixed well. Seems like the drums were a bit too loud and bass was a bit quiet. Other than that it's a great mix and it sounds excellent!

@joerox135 This was my first ever full band recording and I didn't have monitors for mixing so I had to just use normal speakers and compare my mix to the original track which is less than ideal... I've since done far more recording and also have very good monitor headphones. You can see the difference in my song 'Is Something Wrong', which is my favourite anyway :) Thanks very much for watching and for the nice comment. Vocalist.. Stop trying to look cool man :/ Drummer's ripping it man, nice one, my only criticism is that the lead guitarist sounds like he's out of tune or something, doesn't sound quite perfect.. pretty good though guys!
