I maindeck 2 Leyline of the Void's now to beat survival. A lot of decks use graveyard recursion and if you turn 0 a leyline, the decks don't do much. I got laughed at for it by some players until they saw it work.

So they changed Devourer's triggered ability into an activated(the bury clause was triggered originally). That is dumb. I guess this deck would be BBBBBUSTED even more if it wasn't so.

I made a Haakon deck. I won by casting Nameless inversion several times EVERY TURN. and Crip swap later. I also played bitterblossom Ajani, meadowgrain and a few other knights(lol crib swap was just ridiculous)

Survival is too strong in Legacy and yers it should be banned but i think if they decide to bann it, they should just start the new foirmat (anything from masks on), which would be more balanced AND which would be cheaper.

I think in sets that come before SoM you keep the old draft order cuz the sets were designed that way. But from Scars on you use the new draft order.

that's what I thought too, but I then saw they errata'd the oracle text so that you have to sac it if it's power is greating that 7 during the activated ability (pretty sure using the wrong terminology in that last part but you get what i mean)

There are actually two cards with protection from dragons. The first is a little too mythic for the Dragon vs Knights but Dragonstalker deserves its day in the sun I think.

Second: I agree that 20 tix is too much for draft. It really pained me to have to wait another week to be able to draft Scars.

Peacekeeper is fine against a straight UG madness survival deck, but it does nothing against the triskelion deck. Great show, I will also be expecting the ecember 1st announcement, but for a different reason.

Necrotic Ooze is unaffected by the rules on Phyrexian Devourer's seven or more power ability. It only has the "activated abilities" of cards in a graveyard, not "all abilities." Phyrexian Devourer's ability states "When Phyrexian Devourer's power is 7 or greater, sacrifice it." Since it says "when" it's triggered, not activated. Which means you can get an infi/infi Necrotic Ooze, THEN kill them with Triskelion.

@SoulReaverDan Check the Oracle text, the Devourer's activated ability kills it when it goes beyond seven power, as well as providing X +1/+1 counters instead of an X/X counter. IMO this was an unnecessary functional change over the original wording.

Playing MTGO there are plenty of Survival decks and with proper testing and a proper side board it's not hard to beat. People just freak out after seeing a deck T8 repeatedly in a few tourneys. People just need to playtest more, sideboard correctly, or try a different deck. Survival won't be getting banned just because of a few recent T8s.

I don't like where this whole thing is going - drafting backwards, printing 6/6 creatures with lifelink and deathtouch and a bonus if they die, you know.

Survival of the Fittest HAS to be one of the best cards in Legacy at the moment because the creatures are getting better and better. Tutoring for a Vengevine or even Eternal Witness nowadays is way better than tutoring for... let's say Staunch Defenders or Spike Weaver those days. The card quality this card is generating is just insane.

I think WotC went backwards with Scars of M. Some great cards but not a great overall set like M11 is. Notice Evan's, and everyone's, eyes turned on formats other than standard. Why not excite us with new mechanics rather than rehash poison and wither.  I hope Besieged is better.

Survival is good, but then again, it's always been good. I don't think it's going to be banned, personally. It's more consistent than some other decks out there because of all the tutoring, but it's not unbeatable and doesn't Iggy Pop run maindeck Leylines anyway?
