Chaplin was right. We need to unite and work together. We all need to unite, while there’s still time. He warned all of us. We are going the wrong way. United we can end world hunger, we can end diseases, end “national barriers”, ..etc... God sent us here for a purpose. To love, respect and help one another. This is a wonderful world, let’s not ruin it and destroy it anymore. I passed this video to my friends.
To clearify: "At the time of its first release, the United States was still formally at peace with Nazi Germany. Chaplin's film advanced a stirring, controversial condemnation of Hitler, fascism, antisemitism, and the Nazis, whom he excoriates in the film as "machine men, with machine minds and machine hearts"."

It makes me sad we still kill each other over wealth and land, we got advanced, but we are still primative because we been fighting since man clubbed the first animal for a simple meal, since then we been fighting. I think we should all unite under one world government and focus on improving everyone's life and focus on education instead of violence.
@JoeLil1993 whens the last time the u.s. has fought for land? weve helped other countrys gain land from communist dictators and terrorist do we own any of it today since ww2?
@MrJokerOWNS776 It's Charlie Chaplin, he is playing Hitler but this happened in October 1940. I'm not sure if it was a satire, I should watch the movie.
@BennanAzza Doesn't your comment go against the whole purpose of the video. I only asked because hitler gave speeches, he was a very good speaker, part of the reason people followed him in the first place. Also, I didn't know if this was a movie in support of the nazi moment which was prevalent in the US as well as other places.
@watsinyrwallet Let's see, he's got the infamous moustache, and he looks to be wearing a nazi uniform. I wasn't sure if Chaplin was portraying some sort of different take on hitler. Which is why I asked the well done question.
@TheMolestedgecko like i said in other comment look up what the fucking uniform looks like and you will not see any resemblence and...god no it is not a well done question if you knew hitlers hate and just simple facts about him you would know its not him

This is truly accurate. Whatever happend in the last 10 thousand years, all we have to do is just ignore dictators and be happy and succesful in life. There is so much we can do regardless of all this stuff that appeared other time. I'm adding this to a playlist.
Seriously... who wouldn't want such a peaceful world? Why try to cling to our old ways, when we know there is so very much more to life... it's beautiful. Why give power to the cruel, why destroy? People need to see this, every single person.
you want to know what's really sad? I posted this on my Facebook to try to spread and circulate this video... and I didn't get any feedback from it from anyone what so ever.. @thecurse23 Do not fear for our species, for that which is making us inhuman is coming to an end. Do not fear hate, ignorance or misery, for that will only make those things stronger. The day is soon near that we will live hand in hand with one another as opposed to in isolation and unhapiness. Do everything in your power to asuage the wounds we have inflicted upon ourselves and do everything in your power to bring light to this world. For only then can those things you fear come to an end.

@thecurse23 I think people have got so evil now it's insane, I surprised a Red Cross Donation box person when I dropped a five dollar bill in the box. I don't have the best job in the world, but as long as I got a roof over my head, food on the table and a vehicle in good repair, I am fine, that all I need and my guitar.

@randomjake1488 yeah, people care only for the attention they from others. I just wanted to make this video a bigger audience. but at least you know you did your part. and that's what's important.
@thecurse23 thats very sad but at least we have 122,547 people who seem to hear this message and wish to pass it on.... hopefully that number will increase over time..
@thecurse23 I did the exact thing man, didn't get nothing. I seriously thought people would be like "you know what, this video really touched my heart" I wish people were more educated in this world. =[
@thecurse23 Fear not, there are those (such as myself) who care deeply about how society is organized and how we are destroying ourselves. I plan to devote my entire life to addressing these questions. I have no desire to be a capitalist...I have no desire for fame and fortune....I just want to fight for a better world.....for all the generations to come and for all the species which share this planet.
@usaeagle1776 At this time they didn't know the problems with communism. There will never be something wrong with a dream as long as it remains a dream... IMO.
people should stop pulling him up on the small lines, we know what he meant and this is undeniably the best speech that will ever be said, it is timeless
@aleronstube Could you elaborate on what you mean by that? I fail to see how a system where everyone gets to have an influence (however small) on what goes on in the government isn't at least benevolent.
@StarlightTheAmpharos If everyone gets an influence, nothing gets done. Large-scale governments can't afford to have input from all the people, it just slows things down. IMO its easier and more efficient to give the states more power, but its really hard to be unified as a people nationally that way (not like we really are anyways).
@StarlightTheAmpharos Benevolence is doing what is just and right. If everyone has an influence, then everyone can do as they wish. The majority are not good at deciding what is moral or just. It's the opposite. Letting everyone have an influence is not a moral system, because it allows opinion rather than fact to rule.
Chaplin was a well-known lefty associated with Communist causes. My only point was that he never criticized Stalin, the Spanish republican leaders from 1931-1939, or, e.g., Castro. This may have had something to do with his penurious youth. Who knows? He' is an entertainer, after all. Oh, and I'll promise to brush up on my Chomsky, if you will do the same for your spelling and syntax : doesn't one normally criticise what one despises and defend what one believes? You do.
I appreciate your point, Mr. Youkingtube and believe you to be sincere in proferring it; however, the rhetoric of Chaplin is, when you think about it, simply a collage of platitudes, which anyone - from the Unabomber to Josef Goebbles - could have uttered. My specific annoyance with it, as with so much other agiprop these days, is its sole application to the "right." Do you really suppose that the Klan, Nazi Party, or the perennial favorite Joe McCarthy pose an existential problem for us?
I think people need to leave politics out of their assessments of this video and see what it's really about: unity and how we've turned from that path.
The title says this is the greatest speech ever made, and I'll be damned if it's not the greatest speech ever made. One thing wrong though. The Hitler stash. No.
@ROOKI3LINKX ha well charlie chaplin is almost as famous for that mustache style as hitler, and this movie is a parody of hitler. chaplin's character is a barber who is mistaken for the countries dictator, who is supposed to be hitler
I just wonder why, why are people so selfish when they have more than others? People like them, humans! Are suffering yet they dont care. I ask myself that question everyday trying to find the answer. I promise you if I had the chance to help ONE person at least I would do it any day. I promise.
@TheBloodcleaner the movie is a parody of hitler. Chaplin plays a character who looks the exact same as the dictator and is mistaken for him and as a result, unintentionally takes the position of the dictator
As we continue to unite behind theTwelve Visions Party(the non-ruling class unifier) bringing forth The Prime Law--we will all "become millionaires without lifting a finger". The TVP is the party that will "Make All The People Rich..Including The Poor"..and the Elderly". And will garuntee the conditions that will bring about limitless wealth, nearly perfect health and peace. End Political Greed..Vote Jill Reed!--2012
This is why Charlie Chaplin was way better than Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, or even Leonardo DiCaprio or Morgan Freeman. Charlie Chaplin acquired fame, and more importantly, attention. And then he used his fame and with the people's attention, he said something that MEANS something, even 72 years later, his message still bears more meaning than the greatest film-maker's movie, or the greatest musician's song.
Wow! That was quite a speech, and most of what he says is very true! I have absolutely no idea what this is from, nor have I ever seen it before. It's almost like a speech by Adolf Hitler, but in a parallel dimension. A parallel plane of existance in which Hitler truly is a great savior making the world a better place, rather than that Hitler in our world who was a hateful and evil man masquerading as savior, who caused the death and suffering of millions, committed genocide, and started wars.
I don't want just to be touched and move on. I want to live those words and to touch others as well. I love you my brothers and sisters from around the world. May one day we will see this dream that we dream come alive. In this generation or the next
Want to know why what the things stated in this vid will probably never happen?
After watching this vid:"Oh my god that was beautiful. He's right,we have to do something!"
*Does nothing afterwards* or *watch more inspirational speeches and sayings then do nothing*
And then we whine about how nothing has changed.Scumbag people, who have yet to realize that if there are no heroes, become one yourself. And I bet that even after reading this,we STILL won't do anything. This,is the world we live in
How ironic that Charlie Chaplin gives this speech - a comedian...I ask you. Almost as ironic as the VW Beetle becoming the most used vehicle by peace loving hippies...a car made by The Fuhrer...lol
nothing is going to change until we act... there s already a million views, wat a gr8 change it'd b if all the viewers act towards the betterment of their own soceity.....
The greatest speech yes, but nobody takes the first fucking step to realize his vision. this man is a hero. If I had the money I would buy a huge amount of land and built food and give it away to the ones who need it. When/If i get miljonair I will try to realize this vision. You need to be open for this vision. Share this vision to those who make it impossible to realize this vision. most agree with this speech yet nobody acts. If you have to resources please act.
@roxjeruben It starts with us. we cannot expect millionaires to donate their money if we cannot part with ours. it begins with every single one of us. every single one of us, no matter how poor, is better off than someone else in this world. we cannot ask for just the "wealthy" to act. we all must act. It starts now, a dollar, two dollars, there is always something we can all spare, because there are always people less fortunate then ourselves.
@roxjeruben You don't need money to realize the vision. You may not have the resources but you have connectivity, spread the word on cases of injustice and corruption.
@roxjeruben Great comment. Support the Twelve Visions Party! It is the only means by which to realize this vision. See youtube video entitled: "Held Back for 3000 years..Now Revealed".
@coprespect01 from all that I have found Charlie Chaplin wrote, directed and produced this film as well as most of all his films. It was a movie known as Dictator in which he poked fun at hitler as it was done before the U.S. was in the war. 1940 I believe. Charlie once said he would have never done it had he known how bad it really was in germany
the look on his face in the end is heartbreaking. like the happiness of humankind is just a dream, an unattainable hope. it makes me sad, but in the same time, it makes fight everyday against the worlds injustice:)
Charlie Chaplin was a genius. Why do we lack men/women of such brilliance today? The beautiful irony of this scene is that Chaplin was portraying/explaining the ability of men such as Hitler to win mass adulation.
@mishagothe "Why do we lack men/women of such brilliance today?" -- We really don't. Maybe you just need to open your eyes a bit more and actually look around.
Notice that Chaplin never mentions Stalin or anyone on the Left in his diatribe. Only the Right. E.g., no problems with Republican attroicies in the Spanish Civil War - only Francisco Franco. Having done his bit foster the promulgation of the War, he thought the resulting Cold War simply a failure to understand the benevolence of the USSR. This sort of agiprop might impress the easily impressionable (see "hatesmisery" above, who watches is every night before bed) but nobody else.
@trevor462 he does not mention anyone on the right either. He's critic can be aplied on both parties. On the other hand, see how your ego tend to defend what you beleive, and criticise what you despise. You are blinden by your ego. This speech goes far beyond the right/left debate. Maybe go read some Chomsky.

I think people need to leave politics out of their assessments of this video and see what it's really about: unity and how we've turned from that path.

The title says this is the greatest speech ever made, and I'll be damned if it's not the greatest speech ever made. One thing wrong though. The Hitler stash. No.
ROOKI3LINKX 23 hours ago
@ROOKI3LINKX ha well charlie chaplin is almost as famous for that mustache style as hitler, and this movie is a parody of hitler. chaplin's character is a barber who is mistaken for the countries dictator, who is supposed to be hitler
shesxlostxcontrol80 23 hours ago
@shesxlostxcontrol80 I know who Chaplin is :) I was just saying that the hitler style mustache kind of ruins it a little.

I just wonder why, why are people so selfish when they have more than others? People like them, humans! Are suffering yet they dont care. I ask myself that question everyday trying to find the answer. I promise you if I had the chance to help ONE person at least I would do it any day. I promise.
chuckexd 1 day ago
why is he dressed like Hitler?
TheBloodcleaner 1 day ago

If you have to resources please act.
roxjeruben 1 day ago 27
@roxjeruben This is my lifes goal!
RuNeScApEGoDs 1 day ago
@roxjeruben It starts with us. we cannot expect millionaires to donate their money if we cannot part with ours. it begins with every single one of us. every single one of us, no matter how poor, is better off than someone else in this world. we cannot ask for just the "wealthy" to act. we all must act. It starts now, a dollar, two dollars, there is always something we can all spare, because there are always people less fortunate then ourselves.
criket527 1 day ago 2
@roxjeruben You don't need money to realize the vision. You may not have the resources but you have connectivity, spread the word on cases of injustice and corruption.
NickCsDad 1 day ago
@roxjeruben Great comment. Support the Twelve Visions Party! It is the only means by which to realize this vision. See youtube video entitled: "Held Back for 3000 years..Now Revealed".

@roxjeruben you realize that someone wrote what he said and he just read it and did it dramaticly
coprespect01 22 hours ago
@coprespect01 from all that I have found Charlie Chaplin wrote, directed and produced this film as well as most of all his films. It was a movie known as Dictator in which he poked fun at hitler as it was done before the U.S. was in the war. 1940 I believe. Charlie once said he would have never done it had he known how bad it really was in germany

Charlie Chaplin was a genius. Why do we lack men/women of such brilliance today? The beautiful irony of this scene is that Chaplin was portraying/explaining the ability of men such as Hitler to win mass adulation.

xxEXPLORERSxx 1 day ago
Notice that Chaplin never mentions Stalin or anyone on the Left in his diatribe. Only the Right. E.g., no problems with Republican attroicies in the Spanish Civil War - only Francisco Franco. Having done his bit foster the promulgation of the War, he thought the resulting Cold War simply a failure to understand the benevolence of the USSR. This sort of agiprop might impress the easily impressionable (see "hatesmisery" above, who watches is every night before bed) but nobody else.
trevor462 1 day ago
@trevor462 he does not mention anyone on the right either. He's critic can be aplied on both parties. On the other hand, see how your ego tend to defend what you beleive, and criticise what you despise. You are blinden by your ego. This speech goes far beyond the right/left debate. Maybe go read some Chomsky.
