  • DOes anyone know how to convert journal writer to pdf?

  • @GOOBLE07 Use a PDF printer.

  • hey I am an art student and looking for a great tablet pc that can handle photoshop and sketching and I am really interested in this PC but I am curious about the whole photoshoping and sketching cuz I have found others that are soo not suitable for it?

  • @colababy1 This tablet uses a Wacom Active digitizer, as do most current Active Digitizer Tablet PCs apart from Dell. Any tablet with a Wacom digitizer will work well with Photoshop.

  • @oztabletpc Not sure if I need to say this, but touch only Tablets like UMPCs (eg Viliv S5 & X70, Samsung Q1) and Netvertibles (eg. Asus T91, Gigabyte M1028, Viliv S5/X10) will not work with photoshop. You need a tablet with a Wacom Active Digitizer.

  • Is this a review or a sales pitch? I work with these 2720ps day in day out and find some of your claims overstated. Having that that it's a great convertible tablet. I would have loved it to be capacitive touch. Still the new model is. :D

  • @GBscottieUK Sorry to be rude, but what on earth are you talking about? What claims were made?

  • @GBscottieUK I agree. Everyone in our college has these. They are definitely not worth the money. I have the 2730p and the paint scratches so easily. It doesn't have a webcam. It doesn't have an HDMI port. It is worth $1600 yet it can't handle regular applications like Sony Vegas, Photoshop,...

  • @GOOBLE07 2730P is several generations old now and you would be able to pick them up for a few hundred dollars. Nothing like $1600.

Since it is 2 years old, it was way before HDMI was even common. They are not very scratch resistant as you note though. Fujitsu T901 is a much better convertible and its Intel Core i7 II processor would hand those programs just fine.

  • @oztabletpc several generations? Isn't the 2740p the latest one out now?? Yes, I bought mine several years back. If a person wants a powerful laptop, they should just buy a decent one for 1200-1300 and buy on of those slates that can connect to the laptop to allow them to write. Fujitsu looks nice. I might buy one now :D

  • @GOOBLE07 Elitebook 2760P is the current version.

  • As a chemistry student, I am very interested, if tablet-convertibles are usable for taking notes in lectures.

Its always a decent mix of formulas, graphs, drawings, along with definitions and text.

So here is the question: can a tablet like this do that?

And if so, is there the option, to convert my handwriting in selected areas to text, and shift all the graphs and drawings around, to create a decent sum-up?

  • @Spastb00n Yes, easily. Use Microsoft OneNote.

  • @oztabletpc

Well thank you, I think I need one.

  • @oztabletpc How accurate and clear is writing on the screen using the digitizer? I know there're several types, so where does this one stand?

  • @StormBringer44 This tablet uses a wacom active digitizer which is the best and most accurate.

  • better than the tm2?

  • @tiburcio9999 depends what you are after. The new 2740P has an i7 processor and multi-touch, so yes in terms of performance it will be much better. 2740P being a business model has more accesories like docking station and wedge battery too. Generally better warranty options too. The screen is also not glossy which is a big drawback for the otherwise impressive Tm2.

  • hi, do you know if there's any application that will allow to use pen on pdf documents in this tablet? not "typing," but writing/marking using this tablet pen- like one can do on word docs? thanks!

  • PDF Annotator and Bluebeam are 2 products to start with...

  • Thank you very much!

  • how about toshiba m750 or fujitsu t5010?

  • how much did u pay for it?

  • I found it to be very durable and I do reccomend this Tablet PC. It is one of the best on the market now.

You're right, it is expensive, but all ultra-portable business grade Tablet PCs are. Anyway, I think that the expense is relative to the benefit that you can gain from using a Tablet PC.

  • would you recommend this, do you think it is durable (as in...4 years + ) laptop?

Its really expensive, but I understand why...
