Well, Sy Rogers was not actually a homosexual. He was a heterosexual who, by his own testimony, was molested, and deprived of gender edification, causing him to seek male effection and even go so far as to seek a sex change to feel adequate. He is not "ex-gay". He was never gay. He was a deeply emotionally and sexually wounded heterosexual whom the Lord has healed and restored to HIS natural heterosexual identity. That is VERY different from homosexual identity.
great stuff!! i just seen him at my church was taken back by is feminen atributes, but the lord showed me i was jugeing by his outward deminer not by his heart it is a great thing that the lord uses men like sy to show me what i think of poeople from the out side is not right, we must look at the Heart!!!
That's right. I deal with that a lot being a gay evangelsist myself. People are always like "Aren't you a hypocrite?" I'm like, "careful sister, before you become one yourself." Then i hug her and we worship our King of kings together. Oh goodness. I think he was also in the Hillsong Conference I just ordered! I can't wait to see it! Has anyone picked up thier latest album Faith+Hope+Love? It's AMAZING!
@free2bfierce Pastor Sy is an Ex-gay. He has a female wife and 2 children. He overcame all the pain by the power and comfort of God to align himself back to God's will for him. I believe that makes him more of a man compared to all the "macho" ego-centric males that I know. Peace and grace to you :)
@timhrim Please YouTube search: "Former Ex-Gay Leaders Apologize " This is the tesimony of "Ex-Gay" people and leaders who can not teach a lie anymore. Being gay is NOT a choice and CAN NOT be changed. Stopping "conduct" (gay sex) does not make you straight. It makes you a "celebate gay". "Ex-Gay" is a misnomer and SATANIC lie that is killing the spirit of gay people globally.
@free2bfierce You right. Stopping gay conduct doesnt make you straight. I also agree it's not a choice to be gay or not. But Ps Sy will disagree with you on whether it's God's natural design and whether it can be changed. I just got done listening to Ps Sy preach on how he did it, and yes, it's not easy and takes a lot of time, which is why most think it's impossible, cause they're trying to do it in their own strength. So they rather give up and change their definition of truth instead.
@gert123456 "cause they're trying to do it in their own strength" .. this is YOUR opinion and reasoning! For MILLIONS it is just NOT that way! Many people spend YEARS rebuking and trying desperatley to "pray the gay away". They give it God (or so they think) until they come to the realization that there is NOTHING to give to God but your life! You are how he made you! Man/Woman, Black/White, Gay/Straight...
@free2bfierce To me the Bible is quite clear on the issue, so I can't agree that God would make someone gay, but I do appreciate that it's near impossible to get rid of it. I would just be careful not to redefine God's standard to suite my shortcomings. All that doesnt matter really. As long as we serve the same God and accept Jesus as our Saviour. It's as Sy Rogers says. Straight people don't go to heaven and gay people don't go to hell. It's redeemed people that go to heaven, gay or straight.
@gert123456 Amen! I do however believe that gay people have their place in creation and the sustaining of the human race. The thing that hurts me the most is that Christians will OBSESS and burden themselves about the issue of being gay and whether or not it's a choice and will go through all the hoops EXCEPT listen to the gay person CRYING OUT at the top of their lungs that God did indeed make them that way.
@free2bfierce spot on totally, I do not have an issue myself with having the bible quoted, democracy means we sometimes hear every side of the arguement, but when they obsess over this or abortion etc and start to want to harm others, then that to me is not part of god's plan but a sick obsessed individual with issues
@gert123456 Please watch, "For The Bible Tells Me So". It's a GREAT documentary! It will give you a peace and TRUTH about this! God bless, in Jesus' Name.
@free2bfierce Thanks for your response. I don't really agree but I just wanted to clarify Pastor Sy Rogers' message to you a bit. I believe what he says, especially because I know his character and convictions behind the words of truth he preaches. gert123456 did that very well too.
@free2bfierce & @timhrim Yes, Sy is ex-homosexual and makes it very clear that homosexuality is not God's will. His ministry is to show gays and the Christian world that often rejects them that God values all people including gays, accepts them and is willing to heal their issues just like He's willing to heal straight people's issues. Free2bfierce mustn't confuse that. Sy is not an advocate for homosexuality. He's very clear that it's not God's will. P.S. He only has one child, a daughter.
@gert123456 PLEASE YouTube search: "Former Ex-Gay Leaders Apologize " This is the tesimony of "Ex-Gay" people and leaders who can not teach a lie anymore. They explain the DAMAGE and death that the teaching of "Being gay is a sin" causes. The SATANIC teachings of the Chrisitian Church when it comes to homosexuality HAS TO END! Christ is coming back and all the bigots will be "without excuse" Matthew 25:31-46
@free2bfierce My point is not whether or not it's damaging to teach homosexuality as a sin. My point is that your 1st comment makes it seem you think Sy Rogers defends homosexuality. He doesn't. He teaches that it's a mis-function in your life that can be healed by a loving God, as can other kinds of hurts and mis-functions. Those people shouldn't apologise for & change their belief, they should apologise for having condemned gays with their message. Popular opinion doesn't change God's opinion.
@gert123456 Thanks for your added comments. I love how you have acquired the understanding of what Pastor Sy Rogers' message.
Just FYI: I don't know when you got the update, but he has two children now. A daughter who is grown up and a son. That's what I recall from what he told us during his visit to our church in Singapore last year. He is the teacher of my pastor from Bible School too. So in a sense he is our Spiritual Grandfather :)
@timhrim Ok, I'm not sure what's going on but he was at our church in South Africa just this last Sunday, and he showed us pictures of his family and still made the comment "we were only able to have one child". So maybe the other one was adopted or something. I know only about the daughter who is married. But either way, thanks for the chat.
