As noted, this is hard to hear. What I can see is a 9/6 (9add6) progression: A9/6, G9/6, A9/6, C9/6. In jazz & R&B the 9/6 is used with min9s, example: Bb9/6, Ebmin9, Ab9/6, Dbmin9... It's pretty easy to play. "Killing Me Softly" follows that progression with a few alterations.
Thanks bud helpful stuff, i'd been using the ol, let's say for a dom chord LH: 1 3 b7 RH: 9 5 1, which is nice, but the way you're describing sounds sharper and less clunky. I mean it's all just sounds at the end of the day... Ain't it wonderful to have this forum to share info!
Plim.. im a jazz pianist:.. I would say this demo isnt based on an actual composition.. Its just a chord progression that might come up in a tune.. The tune : KILLER JOE and also ON BROADWAY, those go back and forth between two chords..but that c7 well, its to show that its good to transpose this voicing around the keyboard..but there no tune that does that .. in my opinion
Wow, the 3-6-9 pattern.. new to me and it sounds nice. My piano teacher never showed/told me that. He kind of prefers a 3-7 in the right hand. Thanks!
3-6(13)-9 (the 6th is actually a 13 when the chord is dominant) is a good basic voicing for the right hand with a 3-7 in the left. You avoid playing 3-7 above E above middle C (especially the 7th). it should be played in the tenor range so that the extensions (9, 11, 13 and their alterations) can be played in the right hand.

It's good to see some one with knowledge on chords like this. You'd be suprised at how many people freak out when you ask them to play an A9.
