This is truly amazing. I am impressed. The crimes these women committed are horrific, but they are doing their best and making a difference for others outside the walls of prison.
My gosh, I can't believe how much Patricia Krenwinkel aged. "The Family" are old women and men now. It is so sad that she is going to spend the rest of her life in prison but she did horrific things. Susan Atkins died last year and the others are still in prison and should remain there. Their victims' physical bodies will be in their coffins forever. Even though I do believe Heaven exists and know they are there, they should have had a long and joyful life on earth. That was taken from them.

My sister's killer killed more people than Manson, and he will be released in 2014. Where's the uproar about that. Search google for the name Warren Forrest and you will see. He is even on askaserialkiller right along with Charles Manson. At least Manson will never be released, and Warren will unless someone comes forward.

Even though the Manson women committed horrible crimes, I'm glad they have changed for the better while in prison. In fact, seeing how productive and normal they are even though they've been incarcerated most of their lives makes it all the more tragic that they hooked up with that Charlie Manson. I mean, prisoners have jobs and those jobs do help people--they help businesses, which get cheap labor and these dogs obviously improve the lives of handicapped people. My gosh, I can't believe how much Patricia Krenwinkel aged. "The Family" are old women and men now. It is so sad that she is going to spend the rest of her life in prison but she did horrific things. Susan Atkins died last year and the others are still in prison and should remain there. Their victims' physical bodies will be in their coffins forever. Even though I do believe Heaven exists and know they are there, they should have had a long and joyful life on earth. That was taken from them.

My sister's killer killed more people than Manson, and he will be released in 2014. Where's the uproar about that. Search google for the name Warren Forrest and you will see. All we are doing is the same thing the killer did: punishing innocent people like the killer's children and other relatives. We coldly execute without regard for the innocent. I think it's good that she expresses remorse and is trying to improve herself. You can say to me all you want that I'm being unsympathetic to the victims but that's not true. They simply aren't related. You judge each on it's own merits. You put somebody in prison because what they did was wrong. You can't say that Krenwinkel deserves more or less because of what George Bush did.

Murder is murder. The only differences are people's reactions to them. These women have paid for their crimes. I think it is safe to say they have been redeemed. They remain incarcerated in a society that allows the marine, who raped/killed a 14 yr old iraqi girl then shot her family (who watched the girl be tortured and murdered) roam free among us. It IS politics AND hypocrisy-and it is tilted against this fine woman named Patricia Krenwinkel.

Maybe Krenwinkel has grown and contributed while in prison, but calling her a "fine woman" is being pretty charitable. Speaking of charity, it was the compassion and charity of the state of California that allows her to breath today. You are confused, what Krenwinkel did is unrelated to a murdered 14 yr old Iraqi girl. She was 19. She is in her sixties now!! "What she did" happened when she was a brainwashed child.She has made her life an inspiration for redemption-she has been accountable. As opposed to an ex-soldier breathing a "sigh of relief", roaming free because he did what he did in an illegal war. By your logic, the legal system should re- val all the life sentences in the US prison system...compare them to the Iraq war and release/retain them based on whether their crime was judged to be worse than whatever is going on in the war at a given moment. Now...are we just going to use the Iraq war as the "gold standard" or should we include the Afghanistan war also...what about all the past wars? You sound like a nut.

Murder is murder. She did hers with a knife. The military industrial complex does theirs through orders and beuracracy. But it is still murder. You can't get your panties in a wad without doing it over the other. As well, you can't turn your head the other way on one and not be a hypocrite yelling justice over the other. Well, first, I agree. Murder is murder and people should pay for their crimes. Secondly, I disagree that she is "redeemed." She was supposed to have received the death penalty so life in prison isn't really "enough." As for the marine who raped the girl, I think it would be IMPOSSIBLE to find someone who thinks that it's fair for him to be free and walking about.

She killed at the instruction of the one who instructed her to kill. She was brainwashed. She has expressed remorse and paid with her life. I think more troubling are the people who so freely judge her who then don't flinch when those who've pilfered billions from the taxpayer, taken bribes as government officials, still stand behind podiums and give orders. That is hypocrisy and that is what brings down nations.

Gov't officials don't even have to take bribes...they get money, perks and benefits from lobbyists which are legal...great system...for them! As long as the majority of the people are fat, stupid and moderately happy...they won't get worked up enough to get something done...and then they don't have the staying power to keep up the heat. They also align themselves with a party and believe anything they say...so they actually enable our leaders even though they continually let us down.

My God she has aged a lot. I wouldn't have known her if there was no title to this. It's really frustrating because you look at this 60 year old woman, and can't help but say "Ohh she looks really sweet", but then you remember the devil eyed Pat of 1969 and you realize what this woman did...... The victims are first priority, and justice has to continue being served.
