  • @xXPlaystationfreakXx your router password is either set by you when you set it up, or it is the default password set by the manufacturer.

  • I need some help with this. I'm trying to use my mac at home to access my PC at work so I can work from home. I can get the remote desktop to work when I have my mac at work with me, but not when I am at home. I get this error:

This problem can occur if: • The Windows-based computer is not set up to accept remote connections. • The Windows-based computer is not turned on. • The Mac, or the Windows-based computer is experiencing network problems.

The PC is Windows XP Pro SP2.

  • quick question, the box that appears right as you log on to windows, what do the username and password have to match up to? the modem? the computer account? plz help. thnx

  • Yes, when you actually get connected and it prompts you in windows to enter credentials, then those have to be correct to the one on the pc you are connecting to.

  • how can i get it to work to show the person on the pc what I am doing to show them how to do things without logging them out? Please help!

  • I am not sure because most vnc softwares log out of the windows account on the computer. You may need to find a different software or look through the settings of remote desktop connection.

  • I think I found a software, but it may not be free. It is called GoToAssist.

  • Works great thank you,

  • thanks i'll check it out.

  • My laptop is vista system, and I have done everything you say in the video. but it still can not connect my lap top. what can I do to make it connected... :(

  • I am not sure. Maybe vista uses a different default port. I am using xp in this demonstration.

  • hello im trying to do it but it tells me this : This problem can occur if: • The Windows-based computer is not set up to accept remote connections. • The Windows-based computer is not turned on. • The Mac, or the Windows-based computer is experiencing network problems.

Try connecting to the Windows-based computer again, or contact your administrator.

    What can i do?

  • You might want to right click on my computer and hit properties, and then go to the remote assitance tab and hit to accept remote connections. Keep in mind that you need windows xp pro for remote desktop connection from microsoft.

  • yeah i found that out, i was trying to do it in a Xp home but i change it to Pro, thank you very much

  • @cicoxx how did you change it to pro? you bought it?

  • @MrAbkio i made a fresh install of windows xp pro on the hard drive

  • transmission if that is the icon you are talking about.
