This video is so cool...but for some reason when i look at the views, I really feel like I should have my eyes on the road! I want to get a camera-mount in my car now too - thanks for the inspiration.
ahh... makes me feel like I'm back home... just a little bit. Didn't know i was so home sick that seeing night driving on the freeway would make me so oddly happy. >.<
Great video, amazing video of an amazing skyline! Although IMHO it would have been better if you went the other direction, the night view from the top deck of the Fremont bridge is amazing!
@igerould: I was thinking about doing just that, but I don't think my camcorder would have been able to capture as much of the downtown skyline, had I filmed the loop in the opposite direction. Oh well, not to worry. I'll be back up there in a month or two, to film the entire freeway network (as well as numerous streets, for an upcoming street tour).
although i dont think the lighting co-op with you on this .. it was great production.. and that music was outta this world and went exceptional with the video
"The Dalles", who made that control city up? It's a pretty unknown city, unless you're from the area... Boise is much clear, although it is a bit far, it points you in the right direction!
It's not a large city, but it's a VERY popular tourist destination, and indeed, a lot of east-to-west traffic is often headed for The Dalles, so in the larger scheme of things, it makes sense.
Personally, I'd like to see Boise and The Dalles included on all signs, leading out of Portland.
Nice vid! With the exception of the maze of freeways, Tucson is often compared to Portland in terms of size. I've always wanted to visit Portland to see what Tucson could be if we had some real leadership here. Happy New Year Brent, here's to more videos in 2010.
Honestly, Tucson and Portland have very little in common. Think of Portland as a cleaner, greener and more tree-shaded version of San Francisco, with a well-established sense of walkable, intimate neighborhoods and districts, all very lively and full of street life.
Not to mention that the Portland metro has over 2 million people, while Tucson is just touching the 1 million mark, if I'm not mistaken?
love the fremont bridge and the I-5 bridge

Yeah, Deadmau5 and Kaskade always seem to come up with some ridiculously catchy songs. I think they're the best DJ tandem out there today!

Wow man! Nice!
Looked like Tokyo almost there for a second. I love that bridge at the end.

Yeah, Portland is an awesome city, almost like a cleaner and less-expensive San Francisco.

@FreewayBrent How does it compare to Seattle?

Great production despite the tough lighting conditions (nothing you can do about that) and a PERFECT song choice for the footage IMO.

I just noticed the "Smile" sign on the left at 3:01 - cute!

LMAO! Weird, I've been on that bridge, dozens of times, and never noticed that until now. It's probably been there for years.
