It is very unlikely that tigers killed off the asian lions, ussually extinctions/close extinctions are/were caused by man, also caspian tigers or barbary(atlas) lions.

First of all if you know anything about the varient tiger subspecies they are more aggressive the smaller the subspecies because of shrinking territory, siberians have the largest habitat therefor less territorial conflict. Whoever who made this video.. Check your fact. TIgers are much faster and weigh more then lions. Their cubs are raised by single mother and learns to hunt down alone. Lions, on the other hand teaches their cubs to hunt with other pride, which means they are not much perfect as it comes to hunt down alone. U gotta accept the fact.. I will say something about about this tiger-lion height issue.
Actually, Lions are taller than tigers. The tallest African Lion was 4 feet high at the shoulders, while the tallest Siberian Tiger was 3.5 feet at the shoulders.

It is very unlikely that tigers killed off the asian lions, ussually extinctions/close extinctions are/were caused by man, also caspian tigers or barbary(atlas) lions.
However the fact bengal tigers managed to resist albeit in small numbers in the face of massive human encroachment in India shows the fact that they are better equiped/skilled to survive in a world with man than lions are.

First of all if you know anything about the varient tiger subspecies they are more aggressive the smaller the subspecies because of shrinking territory, siberians have the largest habitat therefor less territorial conflict. Second of all the asian lion has gone nearly extinct due to being out-hunted by tigers, not necessarily being fought off. Concepts of tiger over lion came from India where tigers almost wiping out native lions who are smaller than the African lion, and easier for tigers to kill off. An African lion is a different story. A male bengal tiger downing a female siberian tiger, is not so special. Female siberians are about 100 lbs smaller than male bengals. However, facing a male siberian, which runs to 650-700 lbs,and capable of bringing down a 1400 lb russian bear, well, no lion or male bengal tiger would match up.

ChosenPrince is forgetting 1 thing, final16 was just a bit over 3yrs old when they put him on safari world. tigers begin mating at age of 4 so final16 was premature. hobbi at that time was 5yrs old and was dominant male bengal tiger. when final16 was 3 1/2yrs old he was weighted 230kg, (about 50kg heavier than hobbi at that time) and he lost to hobbi. but when final16 reached 4yr old, he was just too big for hobbi to handle. (260kg, 80kg heavier than hobbi) and he became dominant male.

It's funny you're comparing a full grown African lion to a bengal tiger. A bengal tiger is smaller than the siberian tiger. It is a well known fact that Siberian Tigers are the biggest cats on the planet and more powerful than lions. Compared to a siberian tiger, lions only seem bigger because of the mane around their head. I've seen videos of a single siberian tiger send entire prides of lions packin'.

Male Lions are on average Larger than tigers. there have ben a few reallly Large SIberian Tigers but most of that is body fat because of the extreme climate. tigers in general are smaller than Male Lions

The guy that did this video ignores lots of things, I dont know where he heard that a bengal can beat siberian. There was a recorded siberian that weighed over 850lbs thats almost double what a lion weighs.I dont favor lions over tigers or vice versa but a male siberian is much bigger than any alive lion.

i do agree of siberian tigers been bigger and heavier but it's very rare that a siberian tiger could weigh 600+ lbs, think about 800 lbs tiger chasing deer? i think it will never catch it or have the stamina to run 100 meters, the lions we see today aren't the biggest, the barbary lions were the biggest and heavier, last one was shot in 1922
