Great news. Just saw on Amazon that Outsideinside is going to be released on 1/31 by Sundazed Records. Sundazed's compact disc edition is sourced from the original Philips Records reels, complete with the original cover design and features a new essay by Doug Sheppard of Ugly Things magazine.Roll me a fat one! Spread the word.
@donavon the stones wrote it they have a fuzztone guitar but they dont have triple tracked guitars like at 3:10 the stones version has an acoustic piano but you can only hear it on the cd the stones version was a number one hit so i wouldnt under estimate them
i'm aware that they wrote it. doesn't change the fact that it wasn't good. giving them respect because of a number one hit means nothing to me. look at the top 20 hits today, i guarantee they are all complete shit.
@donavon today but not back then satisfaction was an early use of fuzztone guitar it had a lot of kids taking up guitar now all they know is that there pants are falling down
@spacepatrolman it's a matter of opinion, so please fuck off, but if you look up top hits of 1965 most of it is still shitty. a couple ok bands but if you haven't noticed it's always the worst songs that get popular for some reason.
@spacepatrolman ok smart guy, what is the difference between a band and a rock group? also try using punctuation next time. makes you seem like less of a dumbass.
@donavon there is a big differance a band has 5 saxes 4 trumpets 4 trombones piano bass and drums try studing music instead of masturbating to bozo the clown
so to be called a band a group has to have exactly 13 horns, piano, bass and drums? yeah i believe you especially since i just looked it up and found nothing saying anything like that. and if i wanna masturbate to a clown that's none of your business. that was a really clever insult too. good job you must feel really smart.
@spacepatrolman That's wrong, a band can have any instruments and any number of people as long as it's more than one. What you described is a Big Band Ensemble, a type of band, but not necessarily the standard all bands have to follow to be considered a band. This definition of the word band including any instruments and any number of people isn't new either. For example, the "Original Dixieland Jass Band" has been called a band since 1916, yet only has five members.

I was never a big fan of the Stones but i got to admit that this cover of the song is pretty bad ass! I listened to some other stuff by Blue Cheer and i am a huge metal fan and for the 60s, Blue Cheer was pretty heavy! BLUE CHEER! \,,/
@metalmaniac1889 I was 15 and bought this when it came out, shows you how old I am. It was the coolest shit back then, still great now. I love(d) the Stones no doubt also.

I like this better

I like that guitar sound at 1:09, in the 2nd chorus, but the Residents' version is conceived much more originally – less R&B, more bizarre tonality.
