dockimo, read up on the manx cat. They are born with no tail (flat), stub (stubie) and a full length. From what I understand you breed the full length tail cats to get the flat and stubie or bob tail cat. Another way you can tell he is a manx is his legs. The front ones are short and the back ones are longer and muscular. When he stands, looking from the side, he looks like a souped up Camero car.
Hey! I have a Bob The Cat Too!! he was abandoned and I got him from the shelter, full grown, matted and it was LOVE at first sight! He is on IloveBobthecat on youtube
Cute cat! He looks a lot like my Manx, McLovin. Similar story... He was abandoned by someone who fed him but kept him outdoors. He was on his own for months until a place called Angels for Animals trapped him and we adopted him. He was in bad shape. He had tapeworms and ear mites and a respiratory infection and abrasions on his eyes and all kinds of things. It took weeks of giving him all kinds of medicines but he's all better now and livin' the good life!
This is a great clip. I work in the veterinary field and unfortunately see and hear of way too many unhappy endings for abandoned strays. All of our animals; 5 cats (including one Manx), and 2 dogs are rescued animals. As a fellow animal lover I say God bless people like you and the animal rescue groups who dedicate their time, money, friendship and love to pets in need. The world is a better place because of those like you and I!!!!
Your Bob is probably not a Manx at all... Manxes have NO tails and have a heavy rounded look to them. Your Bob looks more like a Japanese Bobtail. Which is not a bad thing...
According to the Cat Fanciers Association, many Manx cats have short tails or stumps like Bob. They even have a nickname: stumpies. Only the tailless kind can participate in cat shows, though. Bob has the round body and long, powerful hind legs of a Manx. He's also got the classic personality. But whatever he is, we thinks he is a fabulous cat.
Bob is a babe! I just love stories with happy bob-tailed endings! Anyone who rescues a manx is a saint in my eyes! BTW, Rachel the Manx wants Bob's phone number! LOL After losing my Norton--also a manx--we adopted Rachel(Manx and feral) and Koko a Japanese Bobtail. We are blessed by thier antics and golden purr-sonalities! I just gets better and better!
aaaaaww!! God Bless people like you!!!! My story is pretty much similar!!! Just watch out!! ctas can be addictive!!! I got 3 so far!!! hahah!!!! aaaww!! cute video!!!
Bob, you lucky cat! All my pets have come from sad or potentially sad backgrounds. (Only potentially sad because I found out about them before anything happened to them). These rescued animals are so special! All the best to you and Bob!!
I, too, had a Bob. He was a neighborhood feral and I finally caught him in a Have-a-heart trap. After neutering and a bit of time he moved indoors to spend the rest of his life on my bed, in my heart and even though he no longer walks this earth he still lives in my heart.
Great story,I'm tring to don't cry..our cats found on street is very similar to Tom,but is female..take a look to her temperament..type "catbull" "addestramento" and "gatto"..
I feel a kinship to Bobs story, as my rumpie, Set, was a feral rescue. He turned out to be the best companion I ever had. He decided to share the wealth and brought a kitten home from the woods behind my house. So now my rescued cat has rescued a cat and we're all happy.
he is marked so pretty i just do not understand how some peoplecan leave these beautiful animals out to fend for themselves thank you he has such a thoughtful look on his face and is marked very pretty
WOW!Nice cat,but did you see the video with a cat named Bob and the cat was pissed because of it's name? That cat is the opposite, even eith it's name bob spelled backwards is still bob.
Yes, Bob is fabulous, very sweet and affectionate, and very different in so many ways from our other cats. Among other things, he likes to eat soybeans.
I have a black and white manx cat too

@rosemarykwest Bob looks exactly like my Bela Luna. We adopted her from Petsmart. Same markings. Could be Bela's twin brother.

Wickedmamma 4 years ago
His tail is very similar, isn't it? However, we had him examined by experts, and the conclusion was that he is a Manx. Either way, he's a cutie.

What a wonderful Manx! I have a stubby too and I believe they are the most loving cats around. Don't you love it when they wiggle?:-)
