it's all about posture, buddy rich to this guy, shoulders relaxed and naturally sloped, elbow is the soft pivot, forearm and hands do everything else, keep one limb constant the other independent, that's why chris dave loves tony williams and that's why this guy loves chris, once your limbs/posture are relaxed as hell the mind and hands can do things on their own. i should be getting paid for this secret, but i'll give it freely for the sake of better music on gayass youtube.
@xaiesque12 there so many ppl that they r gratefull(including me) 2 u, at last someone reveals some of the "secrets" of drumming.i 'm a drummer & i hate the teachers that r keeping "secrets" like this one for themseafs,no matter the level or the money they take to "teach"tnx for posting.RESPEACT.
@nadir6661 haha thanks, i thought i was being pompous in this comment.. but you know, it takes a lot of effort for musicians to find some key elements/secrets that are fundamental to their style, sometimes they don't even know or can't describe what they're doing because they've just been doing it too long, or in some other cases, they don't want to teach the real stuff honestly, in fear that others will take the treasures what they've worked a thousand hours on and become better then they are.
Hey man great drumming seriously! Love the sound of your drums and especially your cymbals. Only one thing is Chris and Tony use more single strokes but either way you sound killing!!! What kind of cymbals are those?? Love them!!!!!!
you need some new vids so I can see how much better you gotten. I like chris and spanky, spanky has alot more funk than chris, keep going man. You sound good.
As far as feel, listen to my tracks, their simple but remains funky. check it out.
Glad to see you back... Absolutely Great solo! I have to say that I am def a fan of work & work ethic... How many drum hours do u put in on an average day?

It's one of the best drumming videos I've ever seen. Very musical. Amazing ideas you got there. Reminds me a bit of Gergo Borlai :) Do check him out. (Type Drum solo European Mantra). Good luck, buddy! Keep on drumming!
I was wondering what constituted a "Tony Willaims Chris Dave Solo"; now I have my answer. It is not either of them, nor is it both; it is this young gentleman. How quaint!
wow, you are being extremely negative. before you posted this comment you should have checked out this guys newer vids. he definitely knows how to play and pretty much does everything you're trying to critique him on. also, "drummer vid world bullshit". c'mon man. this bullshit vid world is opening up so many people to different styles of drumming and showcasing an immense amount of unknown talent. so please, chill out.
sorry but there are just a tad too much people dont know how to tell some1 how good are without saying something about their own high level of intellect.
It's so nice that there are people like you who, in their greatness find time to let people, who are merely midgets in comparisson to themselves, know who they are not...
STFU and for 1ce and for all remember you are NOTHING unless you show the world you make a difference.
What this guy does is truly amazing and humble. He's not talking bout himself but honouring the greats wich makes him immediately a respectable person.
i dont know how many times i have watched this video but it keeps on sounding better cause i learn something new everytime. prodigious drumming bro. keep it up n post more videos.
Man you are nice. You definitely have the Tony Williams feel down. After watching this video, part of me wants to practice more and get better and the other part wants to never play again lol.
I just closed my eyes and actually envisioned Tony, around circa '72. You have it totally figured out dude. Like, you need to get your act together and start getting REALLY noticed. YouTube is a great place for the nice warm fuzzy comments, but no one is going to offer you a deal on this site....get out there and make it happen bro. I'm so in awe of your playing, I loved every fucking stroke. And you've got balls to compare yourself to Master Tony...BIG ones!!!HAHAHAHA!
hey man, as another drummer myself, i have to say im completely speechless with your ability, you seem to have the total package when it comes to drumming. like you have it totally figured out, like you know or feel something we all do not.from reading your replies to the comments i am even more shocked because i figured "hey, he was probably born with drum sticks in his hand and has had formal training since he was like a year old" you are the type of drummer that makes us all want to quit.
Great solo, loved the swing being mixed about with grooves ,fast shit man ! the really fast swing you do just before the end is very much like the swing i do in my clip !
Bro........that was some insanely tight playing man. You crazy! Great independence and feel and chops. You blew me away! Im studying a Jazz Degree over in New Zealand. You studied anywhere? How long you been playing? How long you practise for? Shux..........
Hey man, thanks alot for the kind words. I actually haven't studied formally anywhere right now I go to a liberal arts school called Skidmore in upstate New York, although it's likely I will attend graduate school for music. I've been playing for about 6 years and usually try to practice from 2 to 4 hours a day. But I'm just really influenced right now by Chris Dave, and I urge you to check him out if you haven't already.
sploooooooge, where r you playin in all these videos? Are all these different drums at your house? If dey r, Im tryin to come over n shed, steal some of your shit. Keep it up pimpin.
