  • do you know if they would still stay in water/are waterproof?

  • Just found your videos do you have a makeup tutorial for makeup your wearing in this video?

  • Blotchy? I think you look really pretty. Then again you always do.

  • @jajajaaamie dude shut up....do you think she really gives a dam what the hell your thoughts are....close your effin ears then...oooooo better yet grow up and click out of video.theeeeeeeeeeeeeere ya go loser

  • You talk to damn much.

  • Comment removed

  • @PrincessGems1 She already said about that.

  • they're buy 2 get 1 free right now :)

  • your brows are soo diferent!

  • Have you had a problem with your coastal scents gel liners drying out? Any ideas on how to revive them? I have a couple that are not very old and have not been used much that are dry :( Maybe add some water and let it sink in?

  • @HotCouture81 Hi. I've had the same problem. I put a couple of drops of oil (I just used the cooking/ veg. oil) in them and wait until the formula absorbs the oil and then apply. The texture of the liner seems slightly better after the oil is added. Hope this helps.

  • Thank you! This is a great review!

  • Mine dried out : (

  • Thank you so much for this video :)

Just a question, do you need to wait for the liner to dry, if you're using it as a base, before applying powder shadows? If so, how long? :)

    Thanks in advance!

  • Thank you soooo much for this review. It was EXTREMELY helpful. Thanks!

  • can you use the white gel liner as a eyeshadow base?

  • @ruwizisthename yes. totally! :)

  • you're like really pretty

  • Your eyes are changing colors the whole video! It's freaking me out! hahaha.

  • love the liners. I ordered them before they got these other metallic colors added to their website.

Question--I have the burgundy and tried to line upper lid but all It did was make myself look like I was super sick w/pink tired eyes. Big Mistake. So, what instances could this color be used as a base? Any other uses for this odd color???

  • You're a news reporter?

  • @sassyblonde97: they are a bit more difficult to remove than most eye products due to their non-smudge quality, but just as long as you use a good quality make up remover they do come off okay:) xx

  • Hi, I am considering buying these, and Ive heard that they do not come off easily is this true?

  • @sasssyblonde97Olive oil busts right through this stuff and is gentle on the eye area.I also rub olive oil all over my face sometimes to loosen makeupThen I just use oil of olay facials to remove the makeup and oil residue.Simple and quick----put the olive oil on your fingers, gently rub over eyes/lashes/face, then wash & moisturize)Skin SO soft afterwards

  • Oh btw, i didn't like the eyeliner, it applied like a creamy/gel. BUT it flaked throughout the day. It only happens when I wear it, so I know it's the liner.

  • One of the reasons I like watching your reviews is that you KNOW what you are talking about! And you don't sound like a dumb high school girl. Thank you!

  • @bratmari I totally feel the same way about her. She's someone I can trust. Very informative reviews.

  • Thank you for the review. I been wanting to get some but I didn't know if they were any good.

  • Hi, I bought the some coastal gel eye liners after seeing your video. I like the staying power, however, over the time, I found it got dried in the pot, does anyone have that problem with this product? any suggestions on how to keep it from drying out? Thanks!

  • make sure you shut it very tightly!

  • make sure when you close the containers you REALLY tighten them!!!! and also they say to store them 'lid down'...something with gravity..lol. i hope this helped!!! :]

  • @colorous7 PicturesqueMakeup has a video about how to reactivate a cream liner that has dried out,but I dont know if the rule applies to these as well.Message her and ask.She is a makeup artist and is very sweet and always responds to any questions she gets. She is a sweety. She also has good makeup tips and advise and nice tutorials

  • Wow! What foundation are you wearing in this video? You look AMAZING!!! Please do a tutorial or just tell me what products you used. Gorgeous! :)

  • I'm not a big fan of the HIP eyeliner either. It's very dry. I love my CS black eyeliner. It's soooo smooth! And so long lasting. Specially on the waterline :)

  • @ayame87 see my reply to colorous7 above: this applies to the hip liners also I believe.Hope this helps

  • Thank you for the review. I`ve got Truffle gel liner and it`s great. I`ve never thinked about using this product as a base. However the one that I have is too dark so I would only use it for smokey eyes.

  • @glcaleirbag do you have the one in white? If so, you can mix them to make a lighter brown for a base.Just a thought I had

  • which brush from coastal scents do you use to apply the liner???

  • the taklon liner. I use it to apply the black liner from CS. It's under two bucks, and it's GREAT!

  • an angled brush

  • I prefer this lithing..It's really good.. Great vid =)

  • You look very pretty in this vid :) Thanks for sharing your thoughts !

  • I have been using these in black for over a month now, and they are SO dry, i use the angle brush, and it comes out thick, not thick, and then cracks, could be my underliner but I will go back to a liqued pencil.

  • i can't wait to try these, feline in particular, yum!

also: have you tried the wet n wild mega eyes cream eyeliner yet? it is pretty amazing for 3 dollars - i've heard it reviewed as very comparable to mac, if not better. what do you think?

  • I HATE THE JARS!!!!!

They are trying to make it look like there is more product because the don't fill the outer part on the inside. They try to make you think it fills out the the edge but the circumference is the same on the inside as the opening!

I REALLY HATE that trickery! I do love the product though.

  • yeah, they're all like that, the bobbi brown gel liner is the same, and even the sorta new maybelline gel liner is the same. it's how the jar is made.

  • I did not know this... but still. I think the jar of black i have is going to last a lonnnnnng long time.

  • They use silicone as an ingredient I think that's why they are so smooth while applying, and then stick really hard when dried.

I love my CS indigo blue gel liner!!

  • Have you ever tried the Wet n Wild liners? The reason I ask is that xteeener just gave a surprisingly positive review of the black one and I was curious how you'd compare these two very inexpensive alternatives (or even WnW to Jane or HiP or anything high end). Really... O.o A ranking of gel liners in general would be awesome and you're so good at telling why you rank things as you do! ^_^

  • I have the exotic liner and the only grief I have with it is fallout. The gold flecks make it a little chunky. Works really well, use a little on the brush at a time.

  • This was interesting- i have the true black gel liner, and i've been wondering what other colours are nice as bases. I think i mustve got unlucky though, cos my one had NO staying power whatsoever as a liner! I'm wondering if maybe the ones with slight shimmer are more long-lasting as they're probably slightly drier? Anyway, do you think you could do a tutorial using the peachy shade or the silvery one? I love the makeup you have on in this vid by the way- m,aybe a tutorial on that too??? :-D

  • When you apply a primer.. should you still use a base after, then the shadow??

  • Great video Emily thanks!

PS; the natural lighting in here is much better!

  • it makes my eye itch

  • thank you sooo much !! all your video tutorials have worked for me !!:) kan you please tell me what color eye shadows you are using in this video ??? LOL you look so pretty:

  • I recently found your channel after searching for eye tutorials. I have learned a lot of tips from your videos (and have purchased several of the items you have recommended). Thanks for all your tips and great videos!!

  • Thanks! I was wondering if those gels were worth buying. I think I will give a few of them a try and let you know. I am considering purchasing 2 basic gels and 1 fun color.

  • TAG: most worn mac eyeshadow

TAG: 8 favorite things (1 shadow, 1 lipgloss, 1 lipstick, 1 blush, 1 set of earings, 1 shirt, and 2 random things)

  • i agree the lighting is better because you can actually see things better! lol. so sick of the yellow looking beauty light cant see anything!! very happy! as always excellent vid.

  • I love the backdrop and the lighting, yay! You are GORGEOUS

  • Tha black one kept smudging on my upper lid, so I don't use it anymore... I don't have greasy lids so I don't know why it did it, but it just didn't work for me.

  • well i ordered summerfun i want to try it! youve convinced me :) i also got lip gloss and a shadow brush!

  • the color of your eyes keep on changing in this video, so cool! btw, looks like there's a lot of blush or bronzer on your forehead and cheeks :( thanks for the review

  • Great video! BTW, your earrings and necklace look awesome on you!

  • The lighting in this video is great. I can see the colors better than some of the other videos...Thanks :)

  • I've been watching a bunch of CS gel liner reviews, and it looks like there are some bad batches, so buyers beware! Some batches come out dry/cakey, other runny, and some are perfectly fine.

  • I bought these when they first came out with the gel liners. I swear by their True Black, which I use on a daily basis. I found it far more pigmented than MAC's Blacktrack, which I use on and off aswell :-)

Haven't tried their new shades. Will give it a shot!

  • Your always so happy and smiley and very imformative- I love that you tell the truth and get to the point ans still make lovely videos :) You looks gorgeous byt he way!

  • great review

  • Great review....Ive been wanting to get these gel liners but I wanted to see a review = ]

  • Why does your face look blotchy?

  • @MacLover1979 to be totally honest, i went through an entire work day by the time i shot this video and my face was getting a bit oily. And this lighting is very unforgiving.

  • @emilynoel83 you look beautiful anyway :)

  • her face isn't blotchy, what the freak?

  • @MacLover1979 You can tell it's the lighting because the light spot on her forehead moves when she does...

  • @MacLover1979 wow, you're rude.

  • @PrettyLoather

    haha.. honestly.

  • but then again with shipping charges you basically are paying same amount like loreal but they have more color choices. why cant shippin be free haha!

  • could you use the gel liners on your waterline?

  • I personally don't because.. it just really irritates my eyes and gets into my contacts and such.. and just doesn't seem very healthy. but I know a lot of people do use gel liners on their waterline

  • I found during the summer at Sally's Femme Couture Liner and love it. The colors are limited only three. Black, brown and another. Prior to this gel eyeliner i was using the bobbi brown but it is pricey 21 dollars compared to femme couture about 5 bucks. You should try sine i know you like to go to Sally's.

  • I want to get the 88 pallete but it is 18.95 which is great ! but the shipping kills it the shipping to my town would be $30.00 which makes a great 20 dollar pallete in to a 50 dollar pallete

  • I personally don't like the coastal scents gel liners. For my asian eyes, they just crease like crazy. I would not recommend it to those people who have issues with their eyeliner creasing onto their upper lid. I would recommend the L'oreal hip cream liner.. or I'm currently trying the Stila smudge pot.

  • same! CS's gel liner smudged and creased like crazy for my asian eyes.. i bought stila's smudge pot set.. of 4 mini liner and trying it out.. so far so god

  • Ive never tried MAC fluidline (i know i know) but I decided to give Stila a shot since there was the friends and family sale..

any comments/comparison on the two ?

  • Thanks for this video Emily! I am definitely going to check some of these and the hot pots out on my next CS order.

  • all i can say is I dont recommend the coastal scents gelliners. It dries too quick and its hard to apply it.

  • I only bought one CS gel liner.. i dunno if its just the one i got.. it was so dry and cakey

  • great review thanks :)

i love your earings - were are they from?

    x

  • You look so pretty in this video. Thanks for all the informative videos!

  • I really liked the first two...they are especially nice..:) Thanks for posting..!~:D

  • you can get the exact same ones off of ebay for much less.

  • Wow...the exotic gel liner looks alot like the Clinique Egyptian cream liner at half the cost, I think that Clinique no longer makes Egyptian which bummed me out and now I have a comprable one YAY! Thanks girl.

  • Will you be doing a tutorial on how to use the gel liners? I would like to see exactly how it's done using it all over the lid as a base and then adding shadow to see what it looks like. I haven't purchased any yet because I've been wondering how they work. I love the colors especially the peachy golden one. Thanks for doing this. :)

  • I love the truffle shade! I wear it everyday and even with oily lids it stays put. I prefer it to my MAC and Urban Decay liners! Thanks for the review! Exotic looks gorgeous :)

  • I don't know - Wet n Wild gel liners are pretty good :) And they're cheaper.

  • I'm definitely going to buy some with my order. Thank you for the video!

  • What kind of blush are you wearing? It looks amazing with your skin tone!

  • it looks like milani mai tai...she said a while back that she wears this color frequestly b/c it warms up her skin. Hope that helps!

  • Thanks for letting me know! :D

  • @StyleAlongBeauty yep it's Milani Minerals Mai Tai

  • Looks amazing on you! Thanks for letting me know! Next time im going to Ulta, Ill definitley check it out :D

  • Just to let u know, they don't see Coastal Scents at Ulta...it's only online. It would be nice to have it in a store but they don't

  • Oh i know, I was talking about her blush she has on...

  • Em, you should consider trying the Sonia Kashuk gel liners from Target....they're awesome!! They're about $8 bucks but no shipping so ultimately cheaper than CS. There are only 3 colors but they're good - brown, dark blue, black.....definitely check 'em out, you might like 'em. :))

  • I'm going to check them out! thx

  • Affordable make up, very expensive international shipping though! :(

  • Personally Im really disappointed in these gel liners. I dont like the quality of them at all, they smell very chemically and they dry up way too quickly.

  • youre so beautiful emily but you look kinda older than you really is because of your hair.

  • You look beautiful in this video Emily C:

    <3N

  • I purchased Stellar and Exotic as my first two gel liners. I can't get over how creamy and long wearing they are. A little dab does the whole eye.

  • exotic looks gorgeous! I think it would really compliment brown eyes

  • your face looks so glowy in this video how did u get your face to look so dewy?

  • @tvg03 i went through a full work day with no touch ups by the time i shot this. Thank you so much!! :D

  • Nice video emily!

  • I was seriously considering purchasing MAC's Rubenesque Paintpot. Ironically enough, I had just purchased Coastal Scent's Gel Liner in Summer Fun. Thanks Emily!

  • You make the best reviews on YouTube!

    Love your videos...SO helpful!

And I love how most your makeup you recommend are drugstore/affordable(:

    <3

  • You look really pretty today.... I wish I still had my long hair.....but as you get older, long hair is not an option.. lol

  • Has anyone bought Boom Boom? It looks lovely and I wanted to give it a try.

  • thanks for the review - exotic looks really pretty as does the one that looks like rubenesque

  • Haven't tried them yet but I've been in love with Wet n Wilds creme eye liner and MACs fluidline!!! The Wet n Wild liner IMO is just as good as MACs and is only 3.99 (they are BOGO at Walgreens this week)!!!

  • these actually do smudge a little when worn on the eye. i find they smudge the most in the inner tear duct area, so my upper line eventually transfers to my lower eye area in the inner corner... otherwise, these are great liners. you can also mix the colors together because the formulation is rather soft. i mix brown and black a lot.

  • Thanks!!

  • You look nice in blue Emily! :)

  • Hi Emily. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your honest reviews. I am watching these CS liner reviews go up like mad this evening by other gurus. You are the only one that I feel has given an honest review so far. I really have seen some gurus true colors in the last couple months. Its getting hard to know if they really like the product or they'll say anything to get more freebies.I just want to know whats good and whats not.Isn't that what this is all about?

  • @sweechuga

ive been noticing that the gurus are agreeing to verything to, thats why we love you emilynoel83! :)

  • You know what the best way to know if they really liked the product is if U see them using them in their tutorials, cause sometimes u see them reviewing all kinds of brands but at the en in all their tutorials they only use MAC, I always see that Emily always uses different things on her tutorials because not all of us have MAC everything. Thanks Emily!!!

  • thank you so much for sharing... I want to try gel liners....

  • my Indigo Blue gel liner has dried out after a few weeks...and i had used it only once! :(

the brown one instead is better

Has that happened to anyone else?

  • hey, i'm sorry this happened to you :(

i've had my gel liner for about 2 months & its still perfect. maybe the storage caused this to happen? =/ cant think of anything else.

  • try returning it. They have great service @ coastal scents =D

  • thanks..

if i was in usa probably i would have tried that and also if it was a more expensive item...but from italy and for a few dollars it's just not worth it... :(

..i kept the two gel liners together, so probably it was a faulty one..

  • I LOVE YOUR HAIR IN THIS VIDEO!

  • Hi Emily, I purchased 3 colors but they don't work well on the lower lash and they also smudge alot. You say it stays on your eyes...I wonder if you use something before you apply! IF you do please let me know because the colors are great!!! Thanks for sharing. By the way you are beautiful! ;-) I am sure you get that about 1,000 x a day..lol

  • have u tried putting an eyeshadow base or primer?

  • @mellzbaybee I guess I should try a primer first.....thanks for the tip! ;-)

  • no prob :)

  • I don't own any of these but I used to use Loreal Hip and I think that was pretty expensive, besides that, I didn't like that once the eyeliner dried I was getting a lot of fall outs and it was annoying. About these gel liners from CS I really would like to try them but I agree with a lot of you that the shipping is really expensive.

If you want the same quality I recommend you to use Wet N' Wild gel liners they're awesome and lasts all day, the only thing is that they just have 2 shades :(

  • last time i checked, the shipping is like 3 or 5 dollars. you have to choose a different shipping option to get the lower one or you'll get chosen for the more expensive one.

  • mine was actuallylike 7-8. but its totally worth it i got a palette too.

  • use localsqueeze as a coupon code at checkout for 10% off your whole order :)

  • holy blush

  • you look gorgeous in this one !

  • I love this look, can you do it?? It's really beautiful!

  • I have 13 of the Gel Liners from Coastal Scents, they are fantastic and I love them. Thanks Emily for the review.

  • @crochetsmooches hey, would you mind telling me your faves? i want all of them lol but just wana narrow it down to like 7 HELP :)

  • This a response to @mellzbaybee, all the gel liners are awesome like i said i have 13 shades, but the faves of mine are deep plum, 24K, grapevine, indigo blue, platinum, wicked, true black, I have other faves but I just narrowed it down to 7 as u requested "LOL" they are all awesome you will not be disappointed. Thanks for your question.

  • thanksssss

  • Hi Emily, I haven't tried any of the Coastal Scents gel liners, but I am going to. I tried a drugstore brand, and I can't remember right now what brand it was, but I had a hard time with application. Would you do a tutorial on how best to apply the gel liner please? For just about $7, I plan to give them a try. Good review and thank you!

  • @ ilovefunny3, I think the wet and wild gel liner is great. It is super creamy, doesn't dry out, and goes on very smoothly. It dries to a very dark matte black. I liked it way better than the HIP cream liners.

  • can you do a review on wet n wild gel liner

  • love your hair in this video.(:

  • you look really tan! but either way u look pretty!

  • you look like a pageant girl=)

  • I own turqouise and grape vine pretty colors used alone or as a base.

  • The price is affordable but the shipping isn't...Overall, I do enjoy coastal scents products. I guess it'll be worth to purchase the gel liners when placing an order for more than 1 product due to the cost of shipping which is $9.95 from Florida to NYC where I'm at..

  • really!? Oh that sucks because My sister lives in NYC and she bought a palette and shipping was 2.99 and for me was 4.99 and I live in florida!!

  • I totally agree, I would love a few of these colors but like you, I just can't see spending the additional money for shipping this close to Christmas for myself. I live in Texas and the shipping was greater than $13.00.. So, I'm holding out for one of their free shipping deals!

  • Sheesh $13.00!! It is way too much. Might as well just purchase something "store bought". I haven't heard of free shipping deals from them. Hope they do that soon..=]

  • hi emily.

you look sooooo beautiful in this video - amazing.

i love your hounest reviews. they are the truth :)

  • i want to wear them as an eyeshadow, but the advice I got was they wouldn't work so well because of the consistency. oh well

  • @hill2mason maybe try them as a base for eyeshadows? like using a blue one for teal or blue eyeshadows...purples even might work well on a blue base. just a suggestions. :)

  • listen to the review again and give them a try! they might work for you better than the person who told you they wouldn't work. ;-)

  • But you can use them as a base! They work really well that way ;)

    --

  • I have never tried the gel liners but I will try them, your video's are so informative, thank you for giving us your free time! Will you be doing anything on cream eyeshadows please?

  • Summer loce looks very pretty! I might have to get that one. Lovely earrings btw :) thanks for the great review!

  • Does coastal scents pay u? It seems u always review and use their stuff

  • so gorgeous. adore cs!

  • IDEA :)

can you do a holiday-list ideas video with your preferences for each kind of makeup? [eye shadow, foundation, etc]

it would be cute, especially with thanksgiving and the other holidays afterwards that are coming up!

  • Emily, have yu been getting alot of flack about using CS products in general, because you can order their products on ebay? I really got a slew of negative comments when I used my gel liner and brushes. But personally, I prefer to order from them than wait over a month for something to arrive all the way from China, on Ebay. :) I'm still a fan.

  • emily ! i have a question : do you have any coastal scents brushes, and if so, are they good quality !?

  • Wooo!! I love your vids emily:) thx for this vid :)

  • i love the gel liners :)
