The town manager, Frank Bocanegra, is a former Miami-Dade police officer who worked in Liberty City during the riots in the 1980s.

Perdomo went on to say that he would even send Bocanegra one his "hot Nicaraguan" assistants to help him if he needed it.

Not long after Garrison made those comments on Local 10, she was slapped with the lawsuit, which accuses her of libel and slander.

Perdomo owns a successful cigar manufacturing company in Miami Lakes.

In his lawsuit, he claimed that Garrison's comments have damaged his company and his business reputation and he alleged some people have stopped buying cigars from him because they think he's a racist.

Garrison's attorney said Perdomo shouldn't be blaming Garrison for something he said.
