I like these keyboards for old dos games. The model F was designed to feel more like a typewriter. You gotta also consider that for most people this was the first computer people used.
I like the feel of these keyboard, but the sound rella annoys me. I have one of the new soft-touch logitech keyboards, and if it didn't keep breaking, it's the perfect ballence between noise and feel.
I like the sound that keyboard makes, it sounds like it's built really well, but the loud noise would probably annoy me after a while, I know a lot of people feel that modern computer keyboards aren't as good as older ones like this model F and the model M etc, but I really like the slimline aluminium keyboard that came with my iMac.
I remember the keyboard on a newer IBM PC and it didnt have the clicky spring sound but instead a tiny peizo speaker inside the keyboard to simulate the clicky sound when you press the keys. when the PC was off you didnt hear the clicky sound.
I could swear I had a keyboard like this at one time. The layout drove me crazy for some reason (likely the position of the backslash) I seem to recall a non-PC machine having a keyboard sounding like that too.
My favorite keyboard layout was on a Gold Star Keyboard, they put the backslash down by the Right CTRL and ALT keys, allowing for a full sized Backspace and Enter keys.
My high school used these keyboards on Dell Optiplex's. You wouldn't believe how annoying it was, having 30 students, and 30 IBM clicky keyboards typing at the same time!
Damn, we used to have one just like this. If only id known it would become a classic... Who knows what happened to mine.

I wish my parents never threw out my grandfathers old PC XT otherwise I'd have one of these awesome keyboards.

Years ago I worked in our local city offices, about late 1980.
They used an IBM mainframe computer for billing rates etc
A sizeable room of about a dozen women entered data via linked terminals
They stared into a green phospher VDU all day.
I`m always reminded of this time when I hear these clicky keyboards.
I can recall seeing obselete 80 colomn punched card machines and paper tape readers at the back of the computer room.
