The gunblades in FFVIII actually remind me of the lightsabers in Star Wars: not really big or bulky, but heavy. Notice that Squall wields his sword two-handed. Seifer (arrogant ass) is able to use one arm. There appears to be an elegance and style to gunblade-play (is that a word?) that couldn't be further from Cloud Strife's stupid "Look How Big My Sword Is" swinging... Honestly you would think he's compensating for something!

@vodkaboy73 actualy a gunsword would be very beliveable itd be nothing more then a rifle or long barreled revolver with a custom grip and a gloryfied bayonet as opposed to clouds 6 square feet of steel being swung single handed, gunswords may not be practical in terms of use being the way they are more for cosmetics but still there both usable and possible, even more so if you look at sturdy weapons like double barreled shot guns and such

Not really a giant sword is very realistic just not practical. I cold go out if I had a real buster sword and do some serious damage to something the point of the buster sword is to kill in 1 hit not many slices that do little damage. i'm sure if you cold get enogh titanium or aluminum you could make a faily practicly weighted sword that cold be used some what reasonably. Again the buster sword is by far more realistic just not practical.

Loks like He's only practiced with that huge ass sword only a few times and did some quick practise routens before the event and probly strained his upper body. That on top of the crowds pressure and the judges, he just needs more practice to get ajusted to that sword before doing this again....needs to loos ALOT of extra baggage too.
