Went on this yesterday. First upside-down rollercoaster I've been on. It was a blast. I thank the vortex for getting rid of my rollercoaster fears.

I don't understand what you mean by do you feel it. You really don't feel any tickle in your stomach or anything like that, but it is definitely dizzy. On the corkscrews, if you're kind of afraid, sit on the left seat anywhere in the train. If you don't, it feels like you're going to fall out. (but you don't). :D

This is one of my favorite coasters. I always sit second seat from the very back. I would recommend sitting closer to the front for your first ride. Sit in the front of whatever car you choose.

You dont feel the loops at all! Yes your dizzy afterwards, but personally this is my favorite ride in the park! It jerks you around alot! And they slow you down before the corkscrews and I came out of my seat completely. Just the the strap holding me in, but it was FUNN!!!!

My friend's six year old brother rode this and LOVED IT! Used to be my fav ride till diamondback. Still, it's a classic. O and if you want to get the most out of this ride, DO NOT sit in the front. Zero butterflies. :-)

Vortex is a different kind of coaster. It's not an out and back typical coaster. It's a gimmick coaster with 2 straight loops, a corkscrew around them, and 2 side loops at the end. It turns you inside out. I never fail to have a headache after this ride, but it is a classic.

LOL...the diamondback is the Millinum Force at Ceder Pt just shorter...it is almost identical is track lay out. Both parks have their pluses and minuses....it live closer to KI but travel up to CP at least 3 times a summer...

IMO, the best seat is defiantly th front. It feels like you get a speed boost going down the first hill, and going through the loops.

I disagree. Maybe the front is ok, but I still prefer the back. On almost every coaster with a big hill, sitting in the back is much more enjoyable. But if you are going to sit anywhere near the front, I suggest the very first seat. Second, third, boring.

The back on the vortex isn't enjoyable the least bit, it makes the ride alot more bumpy, but I agree, it is more of a thrill in the back because it's not as 'tight' if you catch my drift.

i rode when i was 10. well, i'm still 10 now. the drop is the only thing that is freaky. the corckscrews -i hate. but it's still amazingly fun! i was 9 when i rode little bill's giggle coaster and was scared, and the very next year had so much fun on the vortex.

the only reason the corkscrews are slow is to make the blood rush to your head really quick, and also they used to make is where two trains would go at once, so one would go through the dual loops and one through the corkscrew at the same time

They can't run trains that close together. In order for that to happen, 2 trains would need to occupy a block section at the same time, which would be dangerous, not to mention the ride's sensors and computers wouldn't allow for it.

No, it's really not that scary. It's just a ton of fun, and very smooth. The first hill may look big, but the drop is actually not that much bigger than the Beast, and it's SOOOO awesome. :) I was scared too, this was my first looping coaster, but it was fantastic! Ride it, you won't regret it!

Yeah, Flight Deck is much improved from the early suspendeds. The same company also built Vortex, Adventure Express, Bat and Screamin Demon. And from the looks of it, 2009 will see another change to the park's skyline. :D

I remeber riding Vortex years ago when I stopped at King's Island and it was in pretty bad shape... Now that Cedar Fair owns the park I'd expect to see a complete overhaul of the ride since CF has really high standards for their parks.... It'll be great to see this Arrow classic look like it did when it forst opened...

Vortex is the smoothest multi-loop coaster of its kind for its time. Sadly its terribly themed and in need of paint and rehab. The park should really respect this iron giant because it is also unique in design- truly one of a kind and they treat like crap- which is just sad.
