To make long story short: Rinoa was possessed by Ultimecia, but she (Rinoa) was too weak, so Ultimecia decided to command her to free much stronger sorceress, Adel (that one at 0:58) so she can possess her instead of Rinoa. And she succeeds. Blah blah blah, eventually good triumphs over evil again, lol.

ok i have to point this out im a huge ff8 fan but this has me perplexed squals weapon is a gun blade but it doesnt shoot anything if you press r1 in the game it explodes so doesnt that make it a grenade blade i dont know who cares i shouldnt put so much thought into it

@Dosumarushi Sorry this comment is coming two months late, but the way the gunblade works is bullets are loaded into it like a revolver, revolver is the name of Squall's starting and most iconic gunblade btw. When the gunblade gets fired the bullets don't actually shoot out as the gunblade has no barrel, instead they hit the blade causing a shock wave which is why it only does damage if you time it right. The blade has to be in the enemy for the shock wave to do damage.

FFVIII is by far my favorite Final Fantasy to this date I really wish they'd bring back a remake or something along those lines cause the story was deep and compelling. Junction system might have been alittle complex for some but I loved it and the GF's. It was just a great game and this is a great song

Same dude. Balamb Garden was beautiful. This game had amazing FMVs for its time. The dance scene between Squall and Rinoa still gets played in the media when they reference FF. The junction system was pretty easy to understand and drawing magic was a novel concept. It was perfect for me because I don't tend to use magic in combat so I could just draw magic and buff my stats with it. I also liked being able to boost the GF summons. And, this game birthed the gunblade!!
