This intersection is in Shiloh, Illinois. The crossing has been totally redone with gates. Hopefully will shoot an updated video of it soon. Thanks for commenting.
@firecaptain5405 so true i live next to the st louis to Kansas city line about twice a day NS runs two trains a day thru here i live so close to the tracks i could throw a rock (just kidding dont throw things at trains please lol )
Yes it is light rail, however the Taxpayer funded system run by Bi-State Development Agency of St. Louis has named the system MetroLink. These trains are certainly different than the Metro's of other cities, I will give that, but tha official name of this system is MetroLink.
Yes, I guess it probably is. That was the 1st time I had heard that bell even though I live in the area. I am sure a little maintenance could help improve the crossing. Thanks for commenting.
Oh, I see now you DID get the other crossing down on Shiloh Station West. Very nice!
Also, I noticed a new signal control box at the Shiloh Station Rd. crossing (where you got the first train) - expect that crossing to have gates the next time you go out there to visit. The crossings on this line have seen a complete turnaround from when I lived there in the early-90's. It used to be that all of the crossings east of Belleville were gateless. Now they pretty much all have gates.
the one was a safetran mechanical(gong style)-bell they usally ring pritty fast and always cool for a good clip of one check out my video "TAYLOR AVE 1 in kirkwood mo"and "TAYLOR AVE 2" for the other side of the crossing
the second bell was an electronic bell it was a type two or three probley type three safetran e-bell
oh btw if me and firecaptain disagreed with each other u would know lol (aint that right Dave'o)
I had to laugh when I heard that M-bell, it reminds me of the bell at the Museum of Trandspotation (the old setup) or the Zoo. The scenery is great for taking videos, just the bells suck. Thanks for commenting.
just subbed nice video!

this crossing needs to be updated having no gates can be dangerous
Heyde1979 1 year ago
@Heyde1979 They'll only add gates if the road is busy enough. I say they only need a new bell for this one and it'll be good to go.
elirosen1391 1 year ago
That bell sounds like shit, but still better than the new bell.

Why was UP leading the NS?
DH082008 2 years ago
This might have been a power delivery to the Union Pacific. This is not at all uncommon.

@DH082008 Norfolk Southern borrowed it due to power shortage, I've seen it a million times.

unionpacifictrain 3 years ago
In the direction of travel of the trains, after. That crossing is about 40 car lengths East of the gated crossing. Hope this helps.

when the light is yellow, how long does it take the train to come.
kfangz 3 years ago
The timing varies based on the speed of the train. The signal warns that the next signal will be red and the engineer must take actions now.
