@xLonewolfxXx Figure out where you want the line. Mark it on the paper. Cut the grip tape. You don't need the cut to be perfect, because you are going to turn both pieces around and use the existing straight edges. Fold back about an inch of the paper to get your pieces lined up. Stick down the edge, peel off the rest of the paper, and apply.
@hades1er You wan to do checkers? Thats easy. I would recommend big squares about 2-3 inches so the pieces will stay on and not move. Just draw lines on the paper side of the grip and cut all the pieces out. Draw a line down the center of the board to make the checkers straight. Then stick all the pieces on. Have fun! Send me a pic to ratvision@yahooDOTcom if you do it.
@GEEderMexikaner I'll get back to toy on this with a video. I do have info, but no recommendations, about grip tape @ ratvisionDOTcom. I am about to do a video soon. I have flik but haven't used it yet. Your questions is a little too soon for me to give u a good answer. Jessup and and iron horse are pretty decent. But there is probably better. I am still collecting brands for testing.
@amsocool99 No. The sticker should stay on for the life of the board. You could have a small amount of the grip tape go over the sticker edge if you want. Just do it the same way when the graphic is printed on the deck. Just trace 1mm or 2mm inside the sticker edge, so when you put the grip tape on the edge is covered by the grip and can never peal off. But you really have nothing to worry about. The sticker won't peal off if you lay it down good on a clean deck surface.
I wish I had thought of tracing my cutout onto the grip sheet before cutting it out. instead I applied the grip then tried to cut it out and it turned out like shit

I wish I had thought of tracing my cutout onto the grip sheet before cutting it out. instead I applied the grip then tried to cut it out and it turned out like shit
@TheBruinspride123 Yes you have to. If you don't put a line on your deck then you won't know if your board is straight or side ways. No, I am kidding. Of course you don't. It's your deck. Just skip that part.
@skateboardtech Whenever I peel off the grip tape after heating up the adhesive, there is a later of clear adhesive in blobs all around the board. Do I just grip over it? I've been sanding it off for the past couple boards that I've done but it takes forever if there isn't a layer of fiberglass at the top, like on my longboard, then I start to sand the color away from the deck. Any tricks or help?
@Abolisher45 If you watch the Fix A Chipped Deck video I did you can see me re-grip a board. You can grip right over the adhesive. The blogs shouldn't be too big. If there are some I usually scrape them off with a razor blade. If you really want to remove all the adhesive use Citrus cleaner. You can also use grip tape that is still tacky to remove the blobs. Just like when a sticker leaves some adhesive behind you can still use the sticker to pick up the left overs. Make sense?
@skateboardtech Thanks, I just want it all gone so that when the custom grip is finished, so no sticky, white adhesive is showing. So, it's been a while, but will it work if I just heat up the adhesive, and try to wipe it off with the citrus cleaner?
@6SuperUser9 That will be up within the next week or 2. In the mean time, if you need to know how to clean grip tape, use grip gum or go to a hardware store and grab a stick of best sander cleaner. Both are a piece of natural rubber about 6 inches long. All you do is rub it on the grip tape.
@bhbzVX Cut the width of the strip you want off the side of the sheet as straight as possible. Stick it on the deck where u like. Now u have a skinnier sheet left. You can cut it into 2 pieces or do the following. Peal back (not off) the paper backing the width of one side and fold it down. Start with the smaller side if u don't have your strip down the middle. Now there is a lot hanging off the side. Score it and cut it off. Repeat other side. If you have questions or need help send a message.
Had a tough time getting that damn tissue paper. Stingy fuckers were far from "happy" to give me some for free. They thought i was trying to get over on them. So i snagged that shit and ran.
@401JamesMr Of course you can. I figure since most people go to a shop to get grip tape they can get tissue paper while they are there. Send me a picture to ratvision@yahoo.com when you finish.
@emericaclay1 Because I like to leave the comments so viewers can get more details and info. I am not sure what comments were yours but if it was false information, shit talking, or bickering with other users I'll delete it. If it was known of the above than it was an accident.
@MrCasey2910 Why don't you go to a hardware store and ask them for a belt sander cleaner. It's a big chunk of natural rubber. Basically it's like a giant eraser. It's usually cheaper than grip gum too
@pepperpong7074 No I don't skate. The closest thing I have ever done that was close to skating was iceskating when I was 6. Ha ha JK. Of course I skate. I am not super good or anything. I actually filmed probably more than skated. I also worked at shops for years and do my own research, which is why I know so much about equipment.
@MrCasey2910 I know more about bearings than almost everyone in the skate industry. Bold statement, I know, but it's true. I have done extensive research and testing to know what it makes a great skate specific bearing. By far the best bearings in the world are Oust or Tensor bearings. Oust makes Tensors bearings. They are made with the best chromoly steel metal, polishes their surfaces more, and created raceways to handle torsional and axial loads created in skating. There is nothing better.
@skateboardtech hey my griptape keeps peeling in the corner of my board and it wont stick to the board but the griptape is still sticky, so what do i do ?
@xhawco The grip tape is a dirty but it is still sticky. The deck surface needs to be clean. You can try heating up the peeled up grip with a hair drier a little. This might help. Or try putting a little super glue along the edge of the deck. I have not done this, but it could work too. If you try this let me know how it worked.
@MrCasey2910 This was Iron Horse. It very similar to Jessup and everyone else. Seriously ride what ever you like. I have a video coming out soon on grip tape.
@G0neSk8ing Its on the list. There is grip gum, or you can get a piece of natural rubber at any hardware store sold as sand paper cleaner. Basically like using a big eraser on grip tape.

@skateboardtech Hey Bro, so I wanted to ask what's the best griptape you have used and have you used Flik griptape?
I don't really need a grip for tricks I need one that just has the best grip for sticking to your shoes like the best nonslip grip?
Hopefully I worded and asked the question correctly.
Thanks in advance
