Heartbreaking ending for those rooting for Brian, and for those of us who were Brian in our own HS days. Years later it still gets to me. But that ending was how it is in life. Who "gets the girl" in the end? The better looking guy 99% of the time. Relationship decisions have a hard time not being hormone-driven, a biological pressure few can resist. the end really showed how brian and angela matured. brian acted with complete dignity, and Angela seemed like she finally understood. No matter what ended up happening...They defenitely grew as people. I love it. :D Jordan even grew... slightly. xD ahahahaha

This show was amazing!!! The writing, actors, topics and overall fell... A real special series, in some ways its better that it ended before it turned into garbage.. After all these years I still think Brian was the most interesting character.. This scene is perfect.
The Characters were so strong and vivid. Claire Danes is a phenomenal actress. You feel every emotion that the characters are going through. As a teen watching this show you can relate so much to Angela. 16 years later I still feel the impact from the show and story line. Why doesn't T.V have this type of substance?? This show is truly a masterpiece, and will live on and on. It brings back so many great memories, you feel the show has a piece of you always.

I would like to think Jordan drove to an isolated area. During the drive they were both quiet in the car & thinking about everything that day. Then when Angela spoke so did he at the same time. She was just about to tell him she knows but he beat her to it by confessing. Then tried his best to explain in his own words how bad he felt & why he did what he did. And she listened but astonished by his confession & his own words to her.
Part of me wishes this was on tv again, but the other part of me wouldn't watch it with out the same people playing the characters...oh the inner dillema...
When I finished watching this episode, I had such a strange feeling in my stomach. I felt like crying, because for some reason, I felt attached to these characters: Angela, her family, Jordan, Brian, Rayenne, Rickie, Sharon ... Angela doesn' t look too happy with Jordan when he shows up. It looks like she's thinking "I can't believe this guy. What an asshole". Not because he broke in on her moment with Brian, but because she just found out the truth, and he's still taking credit for something he didn't do.

When I first saw this...my heart ripped for Krackow. But after watching it years later, the look they shared might have been enough. Even if she didnt want to be with Krackow, something changed between them.

@TheMadJac - It wasn't that simple. The makers wanted to keep going with it, but the network was undecided, because the ratings were pretty poor. Then, once it came out that Claire Danes was no longer really interested in continuing, it was over.

I love this ending. I also think it's great that the show got cancelled before they ruined it like they ruin almost every TV show (dumb it down for ratings, invent ridiculous plot twists, etc).
Yeah, only one season but it's a perfect season and that's the story of Angela.
I still say that Angela and Brian end up together just by this episodes story. Plus, the way Angela keeps on looking at Brian even though shes in Jordans car. I seriously hope that Brian and Angela are together because Brian deserves it :o)

You kind of just have to have your own story of how it ended. I like to think that they got back together and at least stayed together through high school. They were really made for eachother, in my opinion. She made him a better person.

I really think that Angela should have given Brian a blowjob. She didn't have to date him but she should have given him like one blowjob in return for that letter. I guess they couldn't show that on TV back then. It would have been more realistic.

If you watch the bonus features on the dvd release, Winnie hints that Brian and Angela do end up together. It was something along the lines of, "If I continued the series, I would probably have Angela unable to resist to come to Brian for advice about Jordan. Well "advice" in her mind, but really she's just returning that affection..." and then Claire said she would have explored the romance as well.
I can't believe the 2nd season was cancelled becuz of the low ratings & Claire Danes refusal to B in it. They should've found sum1 2 replace her & jus B done wit the 2nd season. Then aired it on ABC & if they still refuse them then air it on MTV or the others. Man, I would have liked to find out what happened to the characters in the 2nd season. I wish they'd do the 2nd season.
A lot of things had to happen, like Angela giving Brian a chance, Jordan revealing more about himself, Ricky getting a boyfriend, Rayanne finding true love, Brian falling out of love with Angela. Jordan and Angela getting back together and making love. Also I would of liked Tino to show up at the end at some point, just for the sake of it. The ending they gave us sucked, its not even an ending, its...abrupt.
This is quite likely the best tv series of the '90s, maybe of all time!

The show was canceled, so this wasn't necessarily the way it was meant to end. Too bad, in my opinion, because I really loved it, and would've really liked to see a second season, and see a lot of things resolved. but ah well. A lot of amazing shows in the 90s were canceled, without giving the writers a chance to actually conclude it. :(
Now that Angela knows that Brain wrote the letter, she will see him for his deeper self, and maybe appreciate him more. But that doesn't necessarily mean she will be attracted to him.
And whether or not Jordan feels everything that Brain wrote, and just can't find the right words to explain it, Angela and Jordan need eachother. I think Jordan can realize how lucky he is to have Angela, and that will make their relationship more stable.

I'm not saying I'd see them romantically involved in the near future, but just that it's better it's out there for Brian than to just obsess about her in his head.

I agree. If you really look back at all the episodes, when do Jordan and Angela really talk? Angela is really comfortable around Brian, she can say anything to him, tell him to shut up or tell him how she feels. Around Jordan, I noticed, she's hesitant, she has to think about what she says or does all the time. In a real life relationship, you can't survive like that for long, well not if you want to be happy anyway. I love Brian. Maybe he isn't the most attractive or funny, but he loves.

I love this ending. I also think it's great that the show got cancelled before they ruined it like they ruin almost every TV show (dumb it down for ratings, invent ridiculous plot twists, etc).
Yeah, only one season but it's a perfect season and that's the story of Angela.

I still say that Angela and Brian end up together just by this episodes story. Plus, the way Angela keeps on looking at Brian even though shes in Jordans car. I seriously hope that Brian and Angela are together because Brian deserves it :o)

You kind of just have to have your own story of how it ended. I like to think that they got back together and at least stayed together through high school. They were really made for eachother, in my opinion. She made him a better person.

I really think that Angela should have given Brian a blowjob. She didn't have to date him but she should have given him like one blowjob in return for that letter. I guess they couldn't show that on TV back then. It would have been more realistic.

I love both possible relationships. You guys, this is high school, not a lover-for-life relationship. She and Jordan click so well together, but she also goes so well with Brian. That's the point. There's not necessarily just one person.

If you watch the bonus features on the dvd release, Winnie hints that Brian and Angela do end up together. It was something along the lines of, "If I continued the series, I would probably have Angela unable to resist to come to Brian for advice about Jordan. Well "advice" in her mind, but really she's just returning that affection..." and then Claire said she would have explored the romance as well.

I can't believe the 2nd season was cancelled becuz of the low ratings & Claire Danes refusal to B in it. They should've found sum1 2 replace her & jus B done wit the 2nd season. Then aired it on ABC & if they still refuse them then air it on MTV or the others. Man, I would have liked to find out what happened to the characters in the 2nd season. I wish they'd do the 2nd season.

A lot of things had to happen, like Angela giving Brian a chance, Jordan revealing more about himself, Ricky getting a boyfriend, Rayanne finding true love, Brian falling out of love with Angela. Jordan and Angela getting back together and making love. Also I would of liked Tino to show up at the end at some point, just for the sake of it. The ending they gave us sucked, its not even an ending, its...abrupt.

This is quite likely the best tv series of the '90s, maybe of all time!
I wish it had never been cancelled, just one more series, I want to know what would've happened, although Jordan and Angela stay together for me. That's all that matters.

The show was canceled, so this wasn't necessarily the way it was meant to end. Too bad, in my opinion, because I really loved it, and would've really liked to see a second season, and see a lot of things resolved. but ah well. A lot of amazing shows in the 90s were canceled, without giving the writers a chance to actually conclude it. :(

Now that Angela knows that Brain wrote the letter, she will see him for his deeper self, and maybe appreciate him more. But that doesn't necessarily mean she will be attracted to him.
And whether or not Jordan feels everything that Brain wrote, and just can't find the right words to explain it, Angela and Jordan need eachother. I think Jordan can realize how lucky he is to have Angela, and that will make their relationship more stable.

Ok, I had this discussion with a friend. I said it was better for Brian that Angela knew. He said that it would be better if she didn't.
I'm not saying I'd see them romantically involved in the near future, but just that it's better it's out there for Brian than to just obsess about her in his head.
And perhaps after he makes his first million and ages well (which he has from pics) they'll marry and live happily ever after down the line. Or he'll get revenge by dumping her. jk kinda

I agree. If you really look back at all the episodes, when do Jordan and Angela really talk? Angela is really comfortable around Brian, she can say anything to him, tell him to shut up or tell him how she feels. Around Jordan, I noticed, she's hesitant, she has to think about what she says or does all the time. In a real life relationship, you can't survive like that for long, well not if you want to be happy anyway. I love Brian. Maybe he isn't the most attractive or funny, but he loves.
