Taoism is undoubtedly a major spiritual teaching. And Mantak Chia has proven to be a historically important figure in popularizing it in the West.
However . . . it must also be said, that Taoism's roots are in Eastern sensibility. And that sensibility is not entirely suitable for most Westerners.
Mantak Chia and his school . . . minimize or ignore this fact. And that needs to be kept in mind by those who approach his teachings.
How it All Began makes reference as to where the teachings come from. Master Mantak Chia's teacher and his teacher. It is a documentary about the lineage and where we move from from there in the US. So we do make a point insaying that it from the East.
It is so wonderful that we now have a world-wide community of Taoist practitioners, and those practices are now regarded more openly by other people than before, and you can openly talk about them and share what you know.
