@CakewalkSoftware My bad, I listened again and indeed the bleed is happening whilst the vocals is going on (could have sworn otherwise when I went to bed last nite!).
I think some of the contributors to this thread should first go and read up on what an expander/gate actually does before making comments. I thought it worked great!
@sepmann Exactly! Don't worry Mr CakewalkSoftware - I think Sonar is the best software there is (I've not tried ProTools or Logic yet) and with the price lower than FL Studio (I used that before), you can't make a mistake! Plus OMG - the sound quality is unbelievable!
@101AOK We weren't trying to remove pumping in the second example. The goal was to remove the background bleed from between the phrases, which was accomplished.
@UTAlexS Thanks for watching and for lending us your valuable feedback. An Expander or Gate cannot remove bleed on top of a vocal, but it can remove the bleed between the phrases, in the 'silent' parts. Thats exactly what was done in this video.

no it didn't. It should have shut it off the way Cake stated. You could still hear pumping!

2nd Example - Expander - didn't appear to remove the headphone bleed at all!

pitiful representation. Poor job of tutoring. It didn't remove crap on the vocal headphone removal

@101AOK Thanks for the feedback, but this is not a tutorial. This is a sound example. And yes, it removed the bleed between the vocal phrases.
