This is more Pop than Country. It lacks several nods to Country and mainly I like it so it can't be too country.

I suppose Dwight has his own special brand of 'country' he does refer to his stuff as 'country rock', I think ;) Is one of the reasons a lot of people who don't normally go for country like him a lot! :D

@YoakamNotYoakum  Well I think I've heard a few other songs of his over the years on TV which I paid little attention to or really didn't like much. But a friend send me A Thousand Miles from Nowhere and that was great. Also, not that it matters , but I am not in today's Pop or Country .. just retro-rock mainly alternative, indie, new wave and sick of classical rock. 60s- 90s. Nowadays most any song leaves me a thousand miles from nowhere.

@YoakamNotYoakum Dwight dose have his own brand of country music. I'm proof of that. I hate country music. The twangy guitar, the simple two-note bass line. Can't stand it. I always joke that country music stations announce the weather so often so that the simple-minded people that listen to country music will have something to talk about. I've always liked Dwight Yoakam and until now I've never been able to explain why. Dwight Yoakam definitely stands alone.
