I'm hoping to find the new ad that I just saw tonight. It's much more diversity inclusive, but really, really weird! Still it's much better than a prissy white dude annoyed that all this trailer trash ruined his tennis game.
How many big firms actually offer six-figure jobs on job search sites? Most "100K Plus People" would find searching for a job on the internet beneath them.
This is one of the most obnoxious, offensive, arrogant, and just plain evil commercials I've ever seen. I wonder why we're having such a problem with the banking system and Wall St. now... oh yeah, it's this attitude.
You know what? If you make over 100K, you're probably a professional, and there are professional agencies/networking groups that are more field-focused.
If you make over 100K why would you need a site like this? So offensive.
If you need a site like this, you're probably a nasty, outside salesman, with capped teeth and vaseline in his hair...who would then boast about his 100K job to all and sundry...from the driver's seat of his Hummer.
No, it's worse than that these under 100K people are fat and bumbling.
This commercial is saying that these other people are invading the space of 100K+ people.
Showing the hoards *knocking down* the Tennis Player makes a social commentary. Poor people are bringing him down, and ruining the event for everyone else.
It's implying that poor people are rude and intrusive.
I'm offended by this because there are lots of honorable people who make less than 100K+. (teachers. nurses...)
Ambergerglund it is not implying poor people are rude and intrusive it is implying that their resumes make it hard for people with more developed skills to stand out..know what your talking about before ya talk. Great commercial...and yes many people who make over 100K can get headhunted or know employment recruiters but that doesn't mean they want to look for jobs themselves in other cities maybe. Are you implying only poor people should be able to get a job online?
I do know what I'm talking about. Watch the commercial. **It is a closed tennis court and some guy runs from the stands and knocks the player over**. That is, both, rude and intrusive. Apparently they didn't hire someone with 100K+ "people" for this visual concept. The film maker is implying that these other job seekers aren't where they are supposed to be. That they are intruding on this guy's space to play. IF he started out on a busy court and he moved to a new court, that would be appropr
there is a difference between "rude/intrusive" and getting in someones way...and the commercial is brilliant because it is trying to relate to people similar to the "good tennis player" not the "clumsy" people that are taking up space in the tennis court....
and by the way I knew you were a bitter baby who doesn't know anything about marketing when you posted your first comment:
"If you need a site like this, you're probably a nasty, outside salesman, with capped teeth and vaseline in his hair...who would then boast about his 100K job to all and sundry...from the driver's seat of his Hummer."
Yeah, but you're the "Big Bore" times 22. Of course I'm bitter. I've worked as an assistant to men who made +100K and they couldn't even spell. They drove Hummers. They took-up two parking spaces because they didn't want their paint scratched. They were assholes, voted for George W. Bush and bitched about the "dirty homeless guy" asleep on the heating vent in the ally...and then they called me a "communist" because I believe in property taxes to support education in the inner city.
...and by the way...if you didn't have a chip on your shoulder, if you really, really felt good about yourself, how much you made, and your contribution to society, you wouldn't have needed to inform me that you "knew (I was) a bitter baby who doesn't know anything about marketing"...you still have something to prove. You obviously have very low self esteem. You sound very toxic and are in need of professional help.
Brilliant commercial! It does a great job depicting the mentally of what I call "the new America". A place where everyone is entitled to success. Elitist? This is a metaphor people, A very good one.
..... A tennis player does not get to that position without working hard all his life, yet, everyone feels that they DESERVE" to be there too. Let me take a wild guess: if you hate this commercial, you are not only unhappy where you are, but you also think you deserve better. Well, YOU DO. Educate yourself for it. Wikipedia is free.
I am completely appalled by this horrible commercial. "when you let everyone play [even those nasty janitors and mechanics] nobody wins [that means us CEO's and corporate execs]." Ooooo...is the revolution here yet?
Yeah, this commercial is sick. Also notice that this commercial says "100K-plus people" whereas the new commercials say "100K-plus talent." I guess they realized how elitist this seemed.
In the UK, the advert ends "£50k plus jobs for £50k plus professionals". People who earn £50k plus (like this adverts makers) tend to look down at anyone else as "untermenschen".
When i saw this i thought i was the only one disgusted by this commerical, very elitist if you ask me.
Funny how the 100k plus people are the main fucker uppers of the country right now lol.
Also, note, that the "100k plus person" in this commerical if you can call it, is a white male... and the apprent, not 100k plus people were fat guys and women.
Who thinks of these commericals, and who hires the people for these commericals, didn't think of any other diversity?
its just screening talent that is worth 100k, not everyone should earn the same amount of money, some people earn more because other people are willing to pay more for certain jobs. its not elitist or anything. it's basic economics, say you needed someone to wash your windows once a week and you needed someone to organize and manage your football team 24/7. would you pay them the same amount?
100K plus talent = white, upper class, men. Not those pesky middle/low income average joe's. Who needs them...oh wait...THEY ARE WHAT MAKES THIS COUNTRY RUN.
And the "non-100K people" are women and fat people, all clumsily clubbing away at the tennis balls. How can the poor Hugh Grant look-a-likes of the world get a good job and be real rich when they're surrounded by losers making less than 100K??
Relax. They're just saying what they do. They're a site for 100k+ employees. They emphasize that by using a tennis court metaphor. In this case, the people who play tennis well are the 100k+ talent because that's who the site is for. That's their target audience. You wouldn't critisize a toy commercial for appealing to kids, would you?
They're not making some big class warfare statement and they're not saying they're better than anyone, that's just you (in general) reading into it too much.
i cannot believe there was a group of people who sat at a table reviewing this commerical before it was let out onto the air without at least ONE person catching the inappropiateness of the final statement. very poor taste and to let the commercial get out that way just bothers me....i mean, come on. you have to be the devil to think that this commerical was appropiate.
Yes, the dialogue hints of class warfare. Did anyone notice that it has been changed / watered down? This video is the original, but the one that airs on TV now is different. Instead of, "nobody wins," it now says something like, "it makes it hard for good people to stand out." And at the end, "for 100K plus people" has been changed to "100K plus job seekers." I guess speaking realistically was too much for people to handle.
This commercial has been HORRIBLY ripped off by some stupid bank... damn, why couldn't they just be original? This commercial is GREAT - I really enjoy watching it. The concept is great and the soundtrack ties in really well. It really encapsulates business owners frustrations with most job boards.
Last time I made over 100k, I was playing Monopoly!

2- go to the quick search on the top middle, type in "Fleeting Glance" then hit enter
3- click the track, it should start playing... =) enjoy

They put out a new ad recently that changed it to "100k+ talent". The new ad use
s Godzilla-like creatures.
In their new ad, tiny monsters representing regular workers can't do any damage,
but the big monster representing their "100k+ talent" blows up a gas station.
Yes, get a 100k+ employee so they can destroy our country even more efficiently!
