To all you morons saying he can't drive you just don't understand his car. That back firing isn't cuz of the rev limiter, its becuz of his 2step. Basically it causes unburnt fuel to ignite in the turbo so it sppols quicker. He has a very big turbo on it. its a 88mm trim turbo, not easy to spool. He also is not getting any tractions so he has to wait til hes at the right speed to shift. Regardless of how fast he shifts he will be spinning through 3rd gear. Learn your sht

1st gear - hold one 1/2 secs and shift at 7000 rpm

2nd gear - shift at 7000 rpm

3rd gear - shift at 7500 rpm

4th gear - shift at 7000rpm

FYI, rev limiters are there to save the motor, it will not hurt it running up to rev limiter. They have rev limiters for the launch too, takes the place of a high stall torque converter that automatics have to rev up 3-3.5k(or more) rpms while the light tree counts down to green. Sry can't address all the idiots in here, some people should do more watching, and less typing. I wanna know what tires Adil and the others are running on.

The "rev limiter for the launch" has nothing to do with being automatic (maybe not nothing, but very little). It's called a 2-step or anti-lag system. It's for Forced Induction vehicles allowing them to build boost pressure while at a stop.

@Dav1ds1 As for your rev limiter BS... They aren't there to save the motor. You keep it on the rev limiter with the large amount of boost that these cars put out, and you will blow the motor. Hitting the limiter will heat up the engine very fast, and unless you have some good aftermarket internals you will blow a piston, conrod, etc. BTW The limiter is there so you don't rip the teeth out of your gears. Of course, that's not the only way to do it.

And YES the rev limiter does save your motor from over reving. The launch setting is in lower rpms, and does not produce full boost. Try knowing something before posting.
