One of the best games of all time. No one's even come close to doing combat as well as this, which boggles my mind. There was so much strategy involved, not mindless button mashing, and taking guys out was so satisfying.

@Dissmusic i completely agree, i played it years and years ago, but i still love it and remember it for it's sound, atmosphere, combos, amount of weapons and, of course, the battles themselves! WHY wouldn't anyone want to at least copy the way battles work in this game is beyond me!

I was looking for a battery charger in a spare room at my mother's house that we use for storage. I found my original copy of this game. I'm replaying it at the moment. An absolutely brilliant game. I'd love it if they remade this with updated graphics.

Shalatuwar is one of d best levels in d game there is very little healing potions , and d ones that do exist - can mostly be used by d enemies(they appear in their inventory, above their image)....

you get a bit better weapons, which gives you d edge for next levels...(+amazon and barbarian armor)

This game is more fun when you increase the damage of regular attacks so that there's no need to keep repeating the same special combo over and over again.

Why the fuck are you using the crappy elf sword this late in the game? That thing is obsolete before you even get the first one in Tel Halaf.

@EndlessPalm: this is the stupidest thing i've ever heard. the elf sword is a fuckin masterpiece, it has a very easily accessible three part special move (called the dream) and is way better than the next three or four swords. i often hung on to it until i got the scimitar and could activate its special move.

this game had the best blood efect ever, beheading and cuting anemys was so freaking real, the blood spilled very well and sometimes when your caracter died,,,,,well lets just say is kinda annoying to see your caracters head flying and droping blood every where.

I wish this game had an expansion pack, or a sequel, but i think that its loneliness makes this game a clasic, even a legend.

People cant make good games like this anymore.

Shalatuwar - a level to seperate true warriors from mere knaves. The sheer number of orcs, trolls and other nasty 'primitive' attackers (those ogres in the torture chamber, for example) combined well with the cramped, claustrophobic nature of the place to create a formidable challenge. Fairly low Healing Potion / bread and cheese provision, too.

The combat was a little bit clunky, probably due to the controls, actually - but it's still the best configuration for this type of game I've ever come across! Loved the combos - possibly the only game where I practised them and was able to pull them out at the right time!

Of course, the blood and dismemberment were just as impressive as the graphics in the day - and still are in a way.

I remember this fight, too! :D

I remember playing this game and I still prefer it's battle tactics to games of today. The sword fights were more gritty and realistic and actually required timing and strategy. Nowadays everything happens too fast and the swords turn bright shiny colors .

Knight is the best after he got the Ice Sword from Gorge of Orlok, is the powerfull weapon in the game, the special atack deal 14000-20000 dmg.

and btw you gameplay style is weak, you lose too much hp and you waste too much time to kill this weaklings.

I think that you have the same problem as me. that while Recording the FPS are too slow to execute the combos.

You will learn to play with lag while recording!!!

Actually there are some games that will lag no matter what. Most of the time its because of incompability with newer technology. I lag a lot on the first Brother in Arms with around 15-20 FPS while i get 60+ FPS on the newest one. Or i have better FPS on call of duty 4 than half life 2

yes but what im saying is, even if he had compatible technology, it wouldn't lag then and he could reocord, while he's trying to saying no matter what it will lag whenever recorded because it's not "meant" to be recorded. i don't think any game was meant to originally.

@blockprodukt The game was said to have bad texture quality (some games used to have already 1024 pixel size textures) because Blade of Darkness used only 256x256 textures at best. The game still looked great and I prefer to play it more than some new games because the gameplay just feels so good and cutting orcs in pieces has never been so rewarding.
