Can anybody help me please I NEED to learn this song on bass (In Peter's Honor) but there is no bass tab for it on the internet, fellow T.O.N fans help me out here.
I see A Pale Horse's name here and there among these comments. I hope they make it big. They're one of the best bands to come out in the last couple years without a doubt. Kudos for knowing about them!
This is a MASTERPIECE of music!!!! I will always love T.O.N. - their music gave me so much in fucking hard times and saved me from going insane!!! And Peter had such a great black sense of humor and life - you just had to understand him in a different way ;-) R. I. P. Peter - you were GREAT!! Thanks to Johnny, Josh and Kenny too!!! Without you T.O.N. would not be what it was!
Just Johnny and Kenny? What about Josh? The keyboard man is important too. C'mon. Get it together, Type O. Totally agree with you, Fatrat. The rest of the band should be carrying on somehow together, because all of these guys completely rule.
@watercolorblue I agree. Not only was Josh Silver's keyboard work important to the band, he had a huge hand in producing all of their albums. He had about as much creative input as Peter. Also, yes Josh, Johnny and Kenny should do more music together. Just not under the Type O Negative name. I'd hate for them to pull an Alice in Chains, in that respect.
@Billinois78 Good point about Josh's production work. I also think they should set aside the name to work together again. They should also think about recruiting other musicians to work with them. Even if it's only on a part-time basis.
I am with the surviving members, I think your guitar and vox are great and should continue somehow, with he keyboard guitar combo you guys got going, is just amazing Peter was great, but he is DEAD and can't play anymore, but you guys can!!!TM BOSTON I can drum for you if Kenny wants to try his hand at BASS!! I AM THE DREAMER!!LOL you guys rule!!
i am new to this music its so fresh to me i like metal but this has to be the ost chilled thing i haved ever listened to wat has happend to music gone of the path so much the young are all blind to the power of music

TON was one of if not the best in my book. Haunting lyrics/sound. I love Hickey, since I play the guitar. The band can be complicated, bust somewhat simple at the same time. Kenney is one of my favorite guitarist, his riffs are so simple yet, like the rest of the band, he makes the song. I miss Pete and wish I could go to a concert this year while the new TON cd floated around. Too bad i'll never see them live, except for seventh void.
Rest in Peace Peter. I'll see you when the reaper rings my bell. Thank you for inspiring me as a writer. Your life was short but your music will live forever.

Do any of you know if Josh, Kenny, and Johnny have continued with the lyrical genius of Peter?......I unfortunately was only able to pick up Type O, after hearing about them playing at Bogart's in Cincinnati, OH from a friend.....I was immediately transformed both personally and professionally......
I would just want to remind all of you that Type O Negative WAS MORE THEN JUST PETER STEEL! Yes the man was a big part of it but i think you all are forgetting all the other band members of type O who made them great.
@fatrat600284 You are totally right. Type O Negative was the 4 of them. They all contributed to make one hell of a band, but you know everyone has Pete on their mind because he died somewhat recently recently. It will be a year in a few days. It went by way too fast. RIP Pete and Type O Negative
@pdeere436 I know. Peter was a BIG part of type o and was the Maine force behind type O. And it sucks that he's dead. But Type O was never a one man band that's all i'm saying. Now with that said RIP Peter Steel.
@hersheycake11 But type o was never a one man band. The other members where (imo) just as important. Like i said he was a big part of the band and that will never change.
@fatrat600284 I agree, but Peter wrote almost all their songs. I Think what people mean that if it weren't for Peter, there would be no Type O Negative.
@Shepard1100 Like i said Peter was integral part of type o not trying to take that away from him. But playing in a band takes more then one person. (And no i'm not talking about one man bands.)
@fatrat600284 I agree, but you cannot dispute that Peter wrote some remberal and beautiful songs, both heavy and slow. I didn't mean to insinuate that Type O was a one man group, bc Josh, John, Kenny, and former drummer Sal helped shape the band alot.
@fatrat600284 Agreed! This song beautifully illustrates just how valuable the other three were to the whole of this band. Kenny's guitars AND backing vocals are superb! His voice complements Pete's quite nicely. Josh's keys are haunting, and yet he kicks it up and headbangs during the chorus. Johnny takes the back beat and plays sparse during the verse then blasts out of nowhere to join the chaos right on queue. These guys were stellar together, I'm so sad to have only seen them twice.
@fatrat600284 You wouldn't know if Kenny, Josh, Johnny, or even Sal formed their own band would you? Got to see Type O Negative in Cincinnati, OH.....I had seen Pearl Jam, the Chili Peppers, Metallica, you name a commercial band, and I saw them.....Those bands did not even come close to the concert I saw at Bogart's in Cincy!!!! This group set an unattainable goal for all other bands....Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Sal has a great band called "A Pale Horse Named Death" who just out there first album. Turns out he's quite the singer/songwriter in his right. Kenny and John have a killed band called "Seventh Void" which is very much worth checking out as well.
Also Kenny has filled in for Kirk Windstein on some dates with "Kingdom Of Sorrow". Josh however, has not done anything, public at least, since Type O. Not to my knowledge anyway. Last I heard he's focusing now on his career as a paramedic.
@fatrat600284 Yes, but Peter was the voice, an essential piece. Peter was, in essence, the embodiment of what Type O Negative stood for. I agree, all-in-all, the Drab Four, could not have been anyone else.
@fatrat600284 Pete was the bread and butter, man. He influenced their style the most. The other members are great, but they were just the milk that washed down the toast.
i really love t.o.n. and this song is top 10 of my faves. i really can't believe that he's gone. well i guess we will hear his new stuff in concert, on the other side when we get there. praise peter, amen.
Been a fan since I bought October Rust. The songs have changed me in good ways. There would be a huge void if Type O Negative had never existed. I am great full for all the songs they've given me.
i don't know if it's too weird or fan boy ish to say so but i sometimes have dreams where peter and i meet and i get to thank him for everything his songs have meant to me and so on. it was a very sad and satisfying sub conscious experience not to sound too new age-y.
Peter's voice is truly amazingly beautiful and hypnotic, in my opinion, the best singing voice there has ever been. From 5.07 onwards is just astoundingly beautiful. I really wish he was still here :'(
dude.....NEVER listen to type o negative in a 500 dollar surround sound system...their music will take you to another demension and make you feel like your the only person int he worl and just take you to a strange but very calming place....type o neg isnt music its a drug
@Goratory666 i've started to listen Type O Negative in the mid-90s with my prehistorical Sony-walkman>> no dolby, no 5.1, no high-tech, just fucking epic music! ..who remember music-cassettes?! good old times! :) ...cheers
truly the greatest man/bassist/band EVER. We all miss you so very much peter every single day on this miserable earth. nothing will ever be quite the same without you. youve gotten me and so many others threw our darkest times with your music. we all love you buddy. rest in darkness. (richie)
I just found out about Peter's death tonight. I live ,much as he did, alone and away from the stupidity of Joe-six-pack. I do NOT watch Television at all. I missed the announcement of his death until I searched here for a possible new Video.
I am an artist, and much of my better work has been done while listening with every fiber of my soul to TON songs.
This fucking sucks...Pete you ass hole...why did you die so soon?
At 5:08. starts the part of the song that reminds me alot of the old Soviet military parade music. Is this just me or does anyone else hear it too? Regardless of what language it may be in, it reminds me of some of those older Russian songs and hymns. Everytime I hear this I always picture a military parade going down the street, with those S-300 missile launchers, T-80's and BMP's, and tons of infantry marching perfectly with onlookers cheering loudly.
@cyberplunge you're not the only one my friend =) that melody definitely has some mother russia touch =) with that Peter raw accent, that march beat and that crowd shouts in the end of each verse "heeeeeey" lool definitely there's some old school commie feeling in that part of the song =)

this is by far my most favored song from this band ill miss you every day pet because i listen to your music every night and it never fails you make me listen to it loud and i love it no matter what
I'm still holding on to the belief that Pete isn't Dead and he orchestrated this elaborate plot of his death and he'll show up playing Madison Square Garden for Christmas.
I still haven't reached the "acceptance" part of the grieving process.
@DetroitMarauder He's dead man. If you watch the interview of Kenny and John I have on my channel, you can tell they are sincere. Their friend passed away, and the only way I will ever see Pete is literlly in my dreams, since his soul has been set free. He has the same affect on me as The Doors and Jim. Lost man in time. Who found his way back to the truth, and was literally just about to record new songs before he passed. I imagine they would have been some of the deepest lyrics since he found
@DetroitMarauder his faith. I am still pissed off beyond belief that I didn't get to see him live or read his new lyrics. Really pisses me off. Yet, I hope when im dead I get to create beautiful music with not only him, but all of the greats.
I actually met Pete at Harpos in '95 or '94 don't remember the exact year
My band was supposed to warm up Type O, but our Manager failed to tell us.
Me and my drummer showed up at Harpos just to watch our favorite band Type O play, and imagine our surprise when we saw our bands name on the Marque underneath Type O.
Once we saw that we headed to the back door to find out WTF was going on.
Long story short, My drummer got beat up and I apologized to Pete for the mix up.
A heartfelt thanks to Pete (RIP brother miss you like I miss family) and the rest of my all time favorite band. You guys have been a constant outlet for me and I'm sure so many others. You put music to my feelings guys to a fuckin T.
immer wenn ich dieses lied höre muss ich dran denken wie toll diese stimme einfach nur war. Wie geil diese band war. Und wie schade es ist diese Stimme nur noch über Audio zu hören.
i think one of the things that upsets me the most is that when a true talent like Peter Steele dies the people who dont give a shit outnumber those who do at least 50 to 1. just goes to show that most people dont appreiate art. this is why so many good people just... give up
@torrentANONYMOUScodc i think that alot of them would appreciate if they knew about it, type o negative just doesnt get the exposure that they should.
Can anyone tell me what language he's saying on 5:08 and on? c:

@fatrat600284 You are totally right. Type O Negative was the 4 of them. They all contributed to make one hell of a band, but you know everyone has Pete on their mind because he died somewhat recently recently. It will be a year in a few days. It went by way too fast. RIP Pete and Type O Negative
pdeere436 9 months ago
@pdeere436 I know. Peter was a BIG part of type o and was the Maine force behind type O. And it sucks that he's dead. But Type O was never a one man band that's all i'm saying. Now with that said RIP Peter Steel.
fatrat600284 9 months ago
@fatrat600284 I think Josh was as important as Peter in many ways.
lormendi 9 months ago
@fatrat600284 If it wasn't for Peter there would not be any Type O Negative He is, Was and shall always be The heart and soul of TYPE O NEGATIVE
hersheycake11 9 months ago
@hersheycake11 But type o was never a one man band. The other members where (imo) just as important. Like i said he was a big part of the band and that will never change.

@fatrat600284 I agree, but Peter wrote almost all their songs. I Think what people mean that if it weren't for Peter, there would be no Type O Negative.
Shepard1100 7 months ago
@Shepard1100 Like i said Peter was integral part of type o not trying to take that away from him. But playing in a band takes more then one person. (And no i'm not talking about one man bands.)
fatrat600284 7 months ago
@fatrat600284 I agree, but you cannot dispute that Peter wrote some remberal and beautiful songs, both heavy and slow. I didn't mean to insinuate that Type O was a one man group, bc Josh, John, Kenny, and former drummer Sal helped shape the band alot.
Shepard1100 7 months ago
@fatrat600284 Agreed! This song beautifully illustrates just how valuable the other three were to the whole of this band. Kenny's guitars AND backing vocals are superb! His voice complements Pete's quite nicely. Josh's keys are haunting, and yet he kicks it up and headbangs during the chorus. Johnny takes the back beat and plays sparse during the verse then blasts out of nowhere to join the chaos right on queue. These guys were stellar together, I'm so sad to have only seen them twice.
justabaldguy 7 months ago
@fatrat600284 Fine, fine musicians. But the painful genius purely came from petes heart.
NinjaPjay 6 months ago 5
@fatrat600284 You wouldn't know if Kenny, Josh, Johnny, or even Sal formed their own band would you? Got to see Type O Negative in Cincinnati, OH.....I had seen Pearl Jam, the Chili Peppers, Metallica, you name a commercial band, and I saw them.....Those bands did not even come close to the concert I saw at Bogart's in Cincy!!!! This group set an unattainable goal for all other bands....Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
hostiutr 6 months ago
@hostiutr
Sal has a great band called "A Pale Horse Named Death" who just out there first album. Turns out he's quite the singer/songwriter in his right. Kenny and John have a killed band called "Seventh Void" which is very much worth checking out as well.
NadirEclipse 5 months ago
@hostiutr
Also Kenny has filled in for Kirk Windstein on some dates with "Kingdom Of Sorrow". Josh however, has not done anything, public at least, since Type O. Not to my knowledge anyway. Last I heard he's focusing now on his career as a paramedic.
NadirEclipse 5 months ago
@fatrat600284 Yes, but Peter was the voice, an essential piece. Peter was, in essence, the embodiment of what Type O Negative stood for. I agree, all-in-all, the Drab Four, could not have been anyone else.
1rammstein21 5 months ago
@fatrat600284 Pete was the bread and butter, man. He influenced their style the most. The other members are great, but they were just the milk that washed down the toast.

Great song!Is there anyone who know what Peter is singing at 6.07min?I can find these words in the lyrics:-(
daccatum 1 year ago
At 5:08. starts the part of the song that reminds me alot of the old Soviet military parade music.

I'm still holding on to the belief that Pete isn't Dead and he orchestrated this elaborate plot of his death and he'll show up playing Madison Square Garden for Christmas.
I still haven't reached the "acceptance" part of the grieving process.
DetroitMarauder 1 year ago 26
@DetroitMarauder He's dead man. If you watch the interview of Kenny and John I have on my channel, you can tell they are sincere. Their friend passed away, and the only way I will ever see Pete is literlly in my dreams, since his soul has been set free. He has the same affect on me as The Doors and Jim. Lost man in time. Who found his way back to the truth, and was literally just about to record new songs before he passed. I imagine they would have been some of the deepest lyrics since he found
Aic1944 1 year ago

He was cool

i think one of the things that upsets me the most is that when a true talent like Peter Steele dies the people who dont give a shit outnumber those who do at least 50 to 1. just goes to show that most people dont appreiate art. this is why so many good people just... give up
