I hope you blocked xtothefifthpower from your channel. Dumb ass tried leaving their trash talk on my channel. Legalized car theft...seriously we have to share the roads with people this stupid and ignorant.
@rpomn WRONG. They used to sell the MinuteMan at Harbor Freight. And all that was offered there was the MinuteMan Original, with the Eagle Claw head. This is an HDH... but not comparable to ANY other HDH. It's been beefed up... and is FASTER THAN ANY OTHER SELF LOADER ON THE MARKET. I'm sure your Jerr-Dan will outlast this, but it DEFINITELY won't out perform it. And if you think your unit is faster, go ahead and post up a video.
@repoman1777 You might be right, I'm not in the business but the clip I put up shows one backing up to parallel parked cars & pulling away. Also, front wheel drive cars parked the wrong way & motorcycles.
@KenMacMillan i love my jerr- dan, self loader and on my f350 regular cab, its short, maneuverable and if you know what your doing, just as fast, with someone experienced behind the wheel as thins flimsy thing that doesnt tilt to a negative angle. this is cool, but i wouldnt ever buy it because there are better options.
@CherieDawng There are somewhat better options depending on your true application. We bought this to REPO cars. There are better units to TOW with and what not, but this is a repo machine.
Negative tilt really isn't necessary, so I don't know why people try to use that as some extra reason.
The Jerr-Dan is built stronger, and is meant to last longer, true.
Minute Man is a thing of the past. Here at Detroit Wrecker Sales, we have not sold a Minute Man product in 3 years. Today there are more choices & better units available from real Wrecker Manufacturers, like Miller Ind, Dynamic, United Recovery ect. Minute Man in the past was the only company to offer a Slide in Unit for a Pick up truck. Well, today the many choices available. So with better equipment, better price...It's not hard to see why people are not going the Minute Man route anymore.
So any problems from the Minuteman? I have been hearing people are hating them now. What's the deal? Truth please. Getting ready to build a new truck next month.
whoa that think is fast! does it give enough power to the stingers to wrap around that fast even when the tires are a little big and it has to sqeeze them? My vulcan is OK i think the fastest hook I have done was 6-7 sec.
oh ive only seen the ones were it like folds up out of the bed of the truck and the tailgate folds down with it and it has the stupid chain things and it takes a long time
actually the under bed units are quick also. just get rid of the electric pump and go with a pto on the motor.and get wider hydraulic hoses for better flow..trust me you will be suprised. but nothing beats the minuteman for weight disytribution
And if it's gravity down and you take out the restricter valve, then it'd slam to the ground with a car on the hook... Why would you want that?
Our HDH is fully clutch pump, and faster than anything else.. and doesn't whine when you engage the hydraulics like an electric/hydraulic pump does...
Hell I know what you mean,,, I run Dallas and on occasion have worked houston as well. Right now I built or put together a 96 GMC 3500HD TD with a regular Dually bed and a texas transformer in bed and pedro magnum eagle claw wheellift under. The only time I bust out the sling is when I have a big truck or an excursion or somthing like that . But mostly the wheellift sees the most action. I was a repoman since 93 to 2006 Now I am back in It. I have run, pierce, pedros, dynamic, etc.. It all works!
This has been flagged as spam show
has not got negative tilt. so useless in some drive ways

@KenMacMillan This unit can grab parallel parked cars with no problem.
And it can do all of the other things you mentioned the MPL-40 does.
I know how all of these units work, trust me.
I've used damn near every brand of self loading units, and I can list the pros and cons of each.

This is built for SPEED and repossessing cars.
Your Jerr-Dan isn't faster than this.
repoman1777 6 months ago
@CherieDawng And I'm sure you can barely tow anything with that regular cab F-350 and that heavy ass Jerr-Dan unit.
You have leaf work and airbags I'd hope...?
We have dump truck airbags on this truck.
The frame is cut. And this unit is meant to be in a 6ft bed pickup. This truck is 60" C/A. So it's short, maneuverable, and tows what we need it to.
repoman1777 6 months ago
@KenMacMillan how much does the Jerr-Dan MPl40 cost compared to the minuteman? can it be mounted in a pickup bed?
godoffire7 7 months ago
@godoffire7 I don't know. I'm not in the business. repoman1777 would be the man to ask.
KenMacMillan 6 months ago
@godoffire7 The Jerr-Dan bed is nearly TWICE the cost of the MinuteMan HDH...
And I've never seen one mounted in the pickup bed like a MinuteMan...
So TWO MinuteMan Units, or ONE Jerr-Dan...
Hmm.

@detroitwrecker Amen Detroit Wrecker!
Though our MinuteMan is the fastest self-loader around... the build quality is just crap.
Cheap metal, poor designing, and trying to over complicate the head of the unit really ruins its idea.
The MM is a well designed unit, but the execution of the unit isn't well. Parts break, FAST. MinuteMan is basically a disposable slide-in unit...

cuofamerica 1 year ago
@cuofamerica Hell yes. Though we show our MinuteMan being fast and all that stuff, basically EVERY part on it has broken.
The unfold cracked. The extension broke with a car on the hook basically INSIDE the apartment where we had repossessed the vehicle.
The head sucks! We were sent a replacement head, and it's just as much of a POS as the original.
The DOWN TUBE is cracking on it too. Where it's reinforced.
More questions? E-mail me.

@Xeidasx Actually about the 4 second man ;)
repoman1777 1 year ago
The best slide in wheel lift is now the Holmes 220. Much beefer and fast as hell even with the electric factory pump.
cuofamerica 2 years ago
Nothing's as fast as this though...
So yeah.
I do like the Holmes 220 though.
Though I don't truly like the weight transfer...
repoman1777 2 years ago
And you can only install the Holmes 200 Snatcher on a truck with an 8ft. bed...
So you're limited.
But it has the weight transfer similar to a Vulcan Intruder... which truly isn't that good of weight transfer.
We have a Dodge 3500 in Austin that can't keep the front tires on the ground to save it's life with anything heavier than a Trailblazer on it...
repoman1777 2 years ago
Is it ironic that when the unit is stowed it looks like it is flipping someone the bird? I love the minute-man. Fast fast fast!
66Lincoupe 2 years ago
Hahah! Yeah, I've always thought about how it looks like you're throwing up the middle finger!
Thanks for the comment!
repoman1777 2 years ago
can you get something like that in a pick-up truck???????
kylexyx1 2 years ago
Yeah, it's actually originally designed to be in a pickup truck.
But we bolted ours down to a cab/chassis.

me and my cousin are thinking about going into the repo biz. but i want a stealth pick up but this kind of "boom" only the kind that slide out!!!!
FASTER!!!!! than the other kinds!!!
but i live just outside of Detroit and its DANGEROUS!!!!LOL
mifan93 2 years ago
Yeah, Houston's DANGEROUS as hell too.
The MinuteMan is a good unit.
All the stealth under the bed units kind of suck...
but it's all preference.
repoman1777 2 years ago
ya, i was lookin at vids of the under bed ones and theyre all SLOW!!!
this ones is AWSOME!!! and fast!!!

Yeah! You are right about the weight distribution there Andy!
repoman1777 2 years ago
@andyneverett FASTER STILL keep electric pump ..change from power down to gravity feed, take out restricter valve and its super quick.

@aaktow Why keep an electric pump regardless?
And if it's gravity down and you take out the restricter valve, then it'd slam to the ground with a car on the hook... Why would you want that?
