I watched "Queen Live at Wembley'86" on TCM Channel (basically the VHS/LaserDisc version released early 90's) and you can hear GREAT differences about the audio!!! It's obvious they fixed it. AND, if you hear the DVD/CD 2003 released version, the sound is more polished THAN EVER.
i always knew about the overdubs and I think it's obvious where they've been inserted. But I think Freddie's lower register is just as good as his high notes, so I don't think they were necessary. I just picked up U2's Rose Bowl DVD and they did some clever doctoring. At a few points, Bono changed some lyrics completely in post production!
@Gregsynthbootlegs They also did some overdubbing on the "On Fire At the Bowl" DVD. If you look at the original Milton Keynes release, he hits a VERY sour note on "Fat Bottomed Girls" ("aint no beauty queens in this LO!!!cality") which was fixed for DVD.
They Overdubbed THE FUCK out of this damn.
