  • i hope they were all tormented everytime they looked in the mirror, seeing hell straight through their own eyes! Its easy to say 'death row' but that would have been 'easy' right?

These people never deserved the easy quick way out. They deserve their thoughts to eat them up and destroy what ever soul (if they had much)they had. I hope they are still today tormented, in life or death. Bastards!

  • Thank you for helping Sylvias story to get out there. I lived in the house next to it 3848 in the 70's. My parents thought I was crazy when I told them something bad happened in that house, I was in kindergarten then. Later my Grandfather a sargent on the polive department confirmed it. Because I told him something bad happened in that house, he found out quickly. My family came from Richmond,Indiana.

  • From what I've come across, sylvia took the beatings to prevent the same happening to her sister. Jenny had polio. I'm sure she wanted to do more to help. Just wanted to respond to a comment about how Jenny should've done more. Gertrude was released in 85. She apparently was a born again Christian. So was Karla Faye Tucker but she was put to death. goodtimes.....

  • well done. eloquent and gentle for that poor lost child we so often forget about. thank you.

  • i just watched this movie and was very impressed :) but i have a question of it. in the movie richard (hobb) had a crush on sylvia......was that true? and if he did in fact had a crush on her why did he carve the sentence on her stomach? R.I.P sylvia u were too beautiful for words <3

  • @Chillykool11 he was mad with her since he liked her and she didn't corresponded him

  • what the name of the song u used in this??

hw can people b so sick i mean srsly...... u hada b the devil to do sumting dat sick...

  • Jenny could have helped more

  • @natmingmcf1 No she couldn't, she was scared of the same thing happening to her; you tell me if you were in the same situation and having the neighborhood kids doing the same to you and 2 adults how would you be able to help your older sister or yourself? Tell me that!!!

So quick to judge without thinking!!!!!

  • @natmingmcf1 That's not fair, she would have been so scared. Consider how she must have been feeling during and after (her being beaten countless times aswell) before making such a remark. It is possible she could have but under the circumstances I think she was very brave. :l

Especially after what happen to her and her family after the trial. Look it up. Look up 'Sylvia likens infobarrel'

  • poor baby thank God she finally got to rest....i whatched "girl next door" n i wanted to jump thru the screen! it is so heart wrenching what was done to that child and her torturers will never have suffered accordingly.

  • @mikeswife415 "An American Crime" Is a better movie with characters actually on Gertrudes children. The girl next door, is a movie about a book where the author only took a few events from Sylvia's torture and put it in the book. So, An American Crime is basically exactly what happened.

  • Hope Gertrude and the ones who tourtures are burning in hell right now.Rest in peace Young Sylvia

  • another reason to believe there is no god.

no one should have to go through this ;(

  • If I were in the neighborhood I would never believe her and help sylvia

  • ANybody tried lookin these people up on Facebook? I mean ...really?

  • What are sticky fingers? Does it refer to stealing

  • this was a real story?!?! oh tht jus makes it worse . . :(

  • @TracyLynn7799 it was 44 days not hours. In my personal opinion Junko had it worse because of the burnings, the rape, the beatings, the fircrackers set off in her body, the objects put in her anus and vagina... it was terrible and made me sick to my stomach.

  • @CAClove04 Where did you hear about the firecrackers?

  • What I meant to say, is that the 4 men responsible for Junko's death shouldn't be walking around, and should've gotten death. Very sick!! Sorry for the mistake!

  • Another thing, Sylvia was innocent, beautiful, and didn't deserve it. The sad thing for Junko was she didn't get justice. Aparrently, in Japan, they don't believe in woman rights. Very schocking!! Because, she was a murder victim. Those 4 men should be walking around. RIP both Sylvia, amd Junko. God will give them their justice : ) That, I believe!

  • although this is a disgusting and horrible crime the kidnap, torture and murder of Junko Furuta is by far the worst and disturbing of all!!! Junko suffered being raped about 400 times, had FIREWORKS put in her anus and or vagina, she was forced to eat feces and drink pee,she vomited when she finally got to drink water, and her captors beat her so badly that it took her an HOUR to crawl to the bathroom!! And to me its stupid that not alot of people know about her she suffered LIVING HELL! rip Junko

  • @MsEleet Wow what a sick world :(

  • @MsEleet I hear ya. I too have heard about Junko Furuta and fucking hell! I got physically sick when I read what was done to her. Those sick fucks are in my book the most extremely evil men. Worst than Adolf Hitler. Just hearing that they were released from prison makes me furious. Justice systems are fucked up everywhere. They deserve the same fate they did to Junko. Also, if those evil fucks were my children who did this, I'd fucking slowly and inhumanly kill them.

  • waitt i thought they lived in indiana?

  • I am ridiculously mad at gertrude, her children and the neighborhood, but I still want to know why the hell sylvia's parents would leave their children with a woman they didn't even know?

  • @lilmissmusic2012 yea me too just because it was back then and in the 60's doesnt mean there werent crooks and just beacause you have a smoke with people doesnt mean you tust them with your children and the least they could do as PARENTS is regurarly call their children they did visit but they should of said something even though they were scared

  • @ferfer18AG Glad I'm not the only one who was thinking that. I just feel like this whole thing could of been avoided, but in a way, the attention it got was a good thing because things like this really showed the truth about child abuse. I'm a 90's baby so I don't know anyhing about 60's life, but I'm guessin everything wasn't as groovey as it seemed with Vietnam, Korea, civil rights marches and all that stuff that happened in that decade.

  • @lilmissmusic2012 yes i know i was born in the 90's too but now awarness was raised abt child abuse

  • @ferfer18AG Yes, and thank god for that :)

  • noe who junko furuta was?? that crime is more worse and terrifying! i know its hard to believe there is something worse then this but there is

  • @rome2sa Actually, they were both pretty bad. I know about the Junko Futura. She lived 44 hrs being tortured (terrible), and Sylvia lived months being tortured before she died. she was trying to survive for her sister. Unlike Junko, Slyvia was left in care of someone, and she had no way out. Many people beat her at once. Junko had four men. Both in my eyes, were terrible. Sylvia had it worse. The monster woman was manipulating everyone in the town.

  • Casey Anthony is Gertrude's niece

  • @dumbdogsdontbark fuck the world, if they can't adjust!!!!

  • Now you know how Nazis could convince ordinary people to behave like wild beasts to other human beings. There are so few real human beings around and even few er real heroes, despite all the bullcrap you see on tv and in movies, humans just aren't that brave most are just followers. you are on your own, don't expect others to save you.

  • Can´t believe how sick some humans are :´(

  • hope all her abuser's are rotting hell including Gertrude

  • only 16 =[

  • The movie was kinda misleading. They made Paula seem like a secret friend who wanted to help Sylvia, but that is so far from the truth. They should have followed the real story out of respect for Sylvia.

  • @Bittersweet21222 i agree with you. But not very many movies based on true stories are accurate

  • @Bittersweet21222 I thought the same way when I saw the movie, but at least it's more accurate than 'The Girl Next Door'.

  • Nobody deserves this.

  • @TheHogsyShow Baniszewski family deserves this. Their own medicine

  • Absolutely sickening! It's rather lamentable that our neighbours can greet us with the warmest of smiles and at the same time, hold a human being hostage in their basement.Sylvia's story happened a long time ago, but the mere thought of it saddens me greatly.

  • When you make comments about Gertrude or Sylvia being in Heaven or Hell, you may as well be slapping Sylvia in the face. Let these people be remembered for the people they were. They are not characters in your fantasy tales.

  • I wish to thank u all. This story hits very close to home since I live an was raised in Lebanon. It is still too this day a touchy subject in town. There are still family living in this town. The scares still haven't healed an are still sore. Sylvia will be missed but still In our hearts.

  • Rest well little sweeheart. You are in my prayers.

  • Also what surprised me was that Stephanie Baniszewski tried to preform mouth to mouth on Sylvia after she stopped breathing. I just found that part shocking. after them beating her... i don't know maybe people will agree that it was a surprise.

  • I think that Ellen page was a more than excellent choice for the part of Sylvia in the movie. I'm really into the child abuse awareness cause and I'm only 16. But I'm also writing a novel about a teenage girl who gets abused by her father. Then I watched this and I cried so many times. I seriously HATE that woman Gertrude, and I'm sure she's in hell. I seriously doubt she was a Christian. So there's definitely no way she's having a lovely time in heaven. I hope to one day visit Sylvia's grave.

  • and sylvia was 6 feet not 5 feet!!!!

  • I bet diana felt horrible thinking they exaggerated after she saw and heard what happened to sylvia

  • Where were sylvias brothers and sisters staying at the time her and Jenny were at Gertrude's house ugh just typing her name makes me cringe.

  • @pinkheart01ily I'm not sure about Benny, but in the book I was reading based on the true story as well, Slyvia had written letters to Diana who thought her and Jenny were exaggerating. Diana had actually came to the house where the girls were staying but Gertrude made her leave and threatened her :/

  • RIP syliva hope you rest in peace

No one derserves this or anything close Also people should know the story of Junko furuta

there are sick and evil people about and we shuld keep these innocent people in our mind and keeping remindin ourselves there evil people about

  • The first time i've ever used this word, i would write cunt on gertrude's grave.

  • And how could that guy that supposedly liked her so much do this to her??? I don't get it...I just don't. I kept hoping when he saw what she was doing, that he'd save her somehow...or stand up for her

  • And how could that guy that supposedly liked her so much do this to her??? I don't get it...I just don't

  • This is sick...just sick...Ughh :(

  • I'll be honest, stories like this makes me truly question the existence of God . I just don't see how a merciful, all powerful God can allow this poor girl to suffer as horribly as she did . My heart truly aches for her and i think about her often . I wish i could've saved her and her sister but i wasn't even born

  • @VikingThor1 same here

  • @VikingThor1 well think about it. now she's in heaven enjoying a happiness that will last for eternity while the rest of us are still here in this hell. i can wait though

  • this world is f*cked up

  • This movie was hard to watch because I had similar treatment from my abusive alcoholic father when I was a kid.So I know how it feels to be tied up like an animal, beaten, and tortured while being left in the dark in a puddle of your own urine and feces.Just like Sylvia,I couldn't cry anymore because I ran out of tears but my heart cried for her though.I hope everyone watches this movie so this doesn't happen to anyone else.Maybe then we can all learn how to love eachother.RIP Sylvia Likens

  • @sakuralor rly i rly dnt belive u

  • @ferfer18AG I could care less whether you believe me or not because I'm not looking for anyone's pity.Especially from someone with a writing level of a 2nd grade student.

  • @sakuralor oh my God im so sorry i need to write correct for you is this better? Im very sorry that your really such an idiot for not being able to read computer\text short typing and for vbeing such a liar why do you feel you need to lie you dont get a prize. And tell me is this grammaticly correct for your standards bitch or is it not correct proof read it for me dumb ass

  • @sakuralor Oh my God im so so sorry that my last message wasnt grammaticly correct and im so sorry for your urge to be a complete idiot for not being able to read short hand typing im not writing an essay now am i and im so sorry for your urge to lie you wont earn a prize everbody knows you werent ever beaten and getting a spanking doesnt count if you were dumb enough to include that pleas proof read this message you lying bitch have an unpleasnt tomorrow bastard. thank you for nothing

  • @sakuralor wow im sorry my message wasnt correct stupid bitch, and you would you need to lie you have never been beaten tied up,or being left in a dark puddle of your urine and feces you wont earn a prize everybody knows your lying

  • @ferfer18AG It's funny how you contradict yourself calling people names especially stupid when your comments clearly presents your stupidity. As I said before,I don't have to prove anything to you.My siblings were there and had to to watch it happen to me.Were you there when it happened, did you hear my screams,NO you're being a rude cunt who has the nerve to call people liars when you don't even know them.Stick to Sesame Street and don't think too much because you might hurt yourself.

  • "mrs. wright." more likely, "mrs. wrong."

  • and just went back inside the house. Later on a social worker was contacted by Diana and was sent to the Baniszewski house concerned about Sylvia. Gertrude told Jenny to lie and say that Sylvia ran away. Gertrude threatened Jenny that if she didn't lie to the social worker she would torture Jenny like she tortured Sylvia. Jenny was afraid of what Gertrude might do to her that she simply told the social worker that Sylvia had run away.

  • In real life Sylvia was forced to eat her own feces and urine. Diana (Sylvia's sister) was contacted by Jenny but Diana didn't believe her, she thought Jenny was just trying to go and live with her because she didn't like the new home. The next week Diana went to the Baniszewski house. Gertrude answered the door but harshly sent Diana away. Diana waited around the house a little while until she spotted Jenny outside. When Diana went up to Jenny, Jenny told her she wasn't allowed to talk to her

  • o crap she was branded on my birthday:O

  • I'm glad Gertrude's dead...and I don't usually say things like that but this woman was a fucking monster. I used to read about the Likens case all the time...and then I DL'd the movie recently and I cried...it makes me question myself, what if I turn out to be like Gertrude? This movie made me think a lot and I'm glad I saw it. BTW does anyone know the name of the song that was playing?

  • I thought it was interesting in the movie how the lawyer asked Jenny why she didn't tell anyone. "You could have told anyone up and down that street." Uh... yeah... 'cuz the neighbor kids "up and down that street" were so helpful! What if she'd told an adult and found another Gertrude? And stupid Gertrude telling Sylvia she had to punish her like this to protect her children and then in court she threw her children to the wolves.

  • And, I wanted to say, but didn't have enough room. While I think this video's intentions were very sweet, a lot of the facts were not glaringly different from the film. Whether the girls met the family through a bus or on the street really isn't a big difference, you know? And, while Gertrude was Mrs. Wright, she kept the name Balin..whatever, at least to the Likens. For other parts, I don't think they could have had Ellen naked; that'd made the film's audience more restricted (adults only).

  • whats the music called

  • Reminds me of Black women in America who had surgery without any anesthesia or pain medicine after surgery performed by American doctors. Doctors performed major surgery on the uterus to see how many times they would heal or see how terrible pain affected people. A lot of these poor women died from infection or lost control of their bladders.

Hitler learned a lot of his torture from experiments performed on Black people in America. Man's inhumanity to man makes countless millions suffer.

  • She was the same age as many of the children who had dogs and fire hoses set on them as they bravely marched for their Civil Rights as human beings. Man's inhumanity to man makes countless millions suffer.

  • OKAY , i'm not being a perv or anything , im 15 ,

on that last picture she looked gorgeous .

I saw both films about this case and it is seriously inhumane and sadistically retarded what they all did to her.I usually don't get emotional with films but this one made me weep in the end , maybe cause its based on a true story.

I can't even start to imagine what would i do if this happened to my girlfriend.!

  • Now I can see how stalkers can go all crazy cause if this bitch was still alive I would try and find her and chop her head off and stuff it up her dead mothers ass. GERTRUDE BANSFUCKSKI I hope you rot in the depths of hell and take all your fucked up kids and fuck them in hell you fucking bitchass whore. OMG this woman drives me fucking nuts. I HATE HATE HATE this fucking bitch.

  • i cant believe this. to think that people can actually do this. i can not fathom. so sad

  • This video is ridiculous.

  • @Soundfrequency how iis this video ridiculous? this murder really happened and cases like this happen in all the world

  • @chaneloisa

You don't think it's ridiculously scummy that someone took a heartbreaking case like this and put pathetic sad music over the top to try and dramatize it for ratings and "Oh dear" comments?

  • @Soundfrequency no, i don't think so. the person who made this is just giving information about a real case in life

  • i feel so fucking bad for her !

  • nope dw about wot i said yip the house is gone. Nothing there but grass. :(

  • ummmm i was just looking on google maps and google earth and ahhhh the house is gone now aye? and i am looking at the right house it said next to it on google earth

  • the one who commented @shaymus420 Dedmaan its a few down 4 days before this one needs a mental evaluation and medication maybe even the crazy ward what kind of sicko could watch something so horrific and make a disgusting comment such as that i hope you get treatment YOU FREAK

  • I wonder where the other Likens kids (besides Diana) were at when Sylvia and Jenny was at the hell house

  • @amb0516 Danny and Benny Likens were staying with their grandmother. Benny had mental problems after Sylvia's death, and pretty much became a recluse. He died alone and poor a few years before Jenny. I don't know what ever became of Danny.

  • @amb0516 I read on a forum that Benny was at his grandma's

  • Gerts a bitch. I hope she was eaten by goats...

  • She was ten years younger than Anne Frank.

  • Respond to this video... in my opinion...the house should be burned down.

  • @jayden2595 the house was torn down years later and made int a church parking lot, first time i heard now its a womens shelter :)

  • @GallopianWitch oh yes i know, i was saying in my OPINION it should be torn down due to the horrid things that occured in that home.

  • @jayden2595 okey dokey, :) and u r right it should be torn down perminitely:)

  • I felt first that how Christianity is fake and phoney. I don't belive in Jesus at all.

  • stephiane has a class mates look up classmates and her first and lsat name she kept it as bwenski just search it you will find her.

  • i hope Gertrude's soul went to HELL!

  • Oh mann,I started crying so much while watching this movie. Especially at the end...</3

  • fuck gertrude didnt die in jail fuck!!!!fuck

  • @crateor

She died of lung cancer :D

  • oh my goodness today is Sylvia's 62nd birthday

  • R.I.P Sylvia Likens. I hope the fucking witch and the rest of those who made her suffer did suffer the rest of their life and I hope that they're not alive today so they can't hurt someone else and that Allah can take care of them!

  • I hope all of the relatives, and friends of Gertrude die a horrible and painful death and I will spit and piss on the grave of all of them. That girl did not deserve this. No one desreves this. I wish I was alive back then, I would have killed that whore gertrude myself.

  • @alischubb Found out that the evil old hag died of lung cancer. Sylvia's sister Jenny died of a heart attack at the age of 54 after sending a news paper clip to her parents laughing that the hag was dead. John Baniszewski died from diabetes at 52. his sisters Paula and stephanie are still reported alive. Coy hubbard boyfriend of stephanie died of a heart attack at the age of 56.

Information from Wikipedia. R.I.P Sylvia, no one should ever have that treatment put upon them.

  • @crazycritters007 thank you for the update. If I am ever near the witches plot I will piss and spit on it. God forbid what I might do if I ever run into the witches daughters.

  • @alischubb , so you would wish torture on those who are associated with Gertrude even though some of them had nothing to do with this crime? That makes you no better. I agree with your anger towards Gertrude, that's where it should be. But I think it's equally sick to see people say that they want the descendants of the perpetrators (or those who knew them but didn't have any part in the crime) to be tortured and murdered as an excuse to revel in bloodlust. It won't bring Sylvia back.

  • I hope all of the relatives, and friends of Gertrude die a horrible and painful death and I will spit and piss on the grave of all of them. That girl did not deserve this.

  • @amazingolme Which 'kids' are you referring to? Paula B served a few years & escaped once. Lives in Iowa under alias, married, kids. Bet she's a GREAT MOM. Stephanie B's role in the torture was overlooked in the film, thanks to her testimony against her mother & FOR her boyfriend HUBBARD. She lives under an alias in FL, kids/grandkids.. Marie & Shirley live under aliases. John Jr, Hubbard & Hobbs are all dead. Two of 4 kids charged with 'injury to person' are now dead.

  • @amazingolme Which children are you referring to who are doing so well? Neighbor kids charged with 'injury to person:' Lepper, Monroe, Siscoe, Duke? At least 2 now DEAD. Or the Baniszewski kids who escaped being tried: Stephanie, Marie, Shirley? All 3 used aliases after trial. Steph got off EZ. Paula escaped from prison once, then served only a few years. Moved to Iowa, changed name, had kids. Bet she's a GREAT MOM. John Jr, Hubbard & Hobbs did short stints in a reformatory: ALL 3 DEAD..

  • Wikipedia mentions that Gertrude and John Jr. used to make Sylvia eat her own feces... what sick, screwed up people. I don't care if the mother was "sick" and if her children were just afraid of her and carrying out orders or just went along with it because they were kids and didn't think about it. There is NO acceptable excuse for what was done to Sylvia, NONE!

  • the good and the bad we ment to be forgiven. story is sad though :(

  • @AdsChasingMe there's nothing there!

  • They are on google images, just look up "Sylvia Likens Autopsy pictures"

  • I have seen the autopsy photo's of sylvia, and she was black and blue all over.

    R.I.P Sylvia

  • @AdsChasingMe where at?

  • In the photograph of Gertrude you can obviously tell there's something wrong with her. I'm not gonna call her a bitch or anything. She was sick. Simple as that. She deserves to go through everything that Sylvia went through. And Sylvia's parents are idiots for leaving their children with a complete stranger. I guess they didn't think something like that would happen to their kids. They were wrong, and in my opinion they deserve to rot too. I don't care if it was the fucking 60's.

  • Dear the accomplices in this crime,

I will find you. And when I do.... oh god, will you regret what you've done.

  • @Nichole337LYRICS

The only person left that is still alive is Paula, Gertrude's daughter.

  • @wondr7 Not true. Paula B is alive, married with kids, in Iowa. Stephanie B is alive, married with kids, in Florida. Marie B and Shirley B are both very much alive, possibly in Indy with their step-mother, wife of dead father, John B Sr, a Beech Grove, IN, cop. All changed their last names after the trial. Several of the neighbors and "neighborhood kids" are alive & in Indy. Sylvia's older sister DIANNA BEDWELL KNUTSON is alive, living in AR or CA.

  • @redonionjazz

Thanks, I didn't know all that.

  • ellen page look like a spitting image of the real sylvia

  • This girl was like any other and was punished like no other. May she rest in heaven with all the choirs of angels

  • why were all the kids so indifferent and mean and sadistic??? because people around them taught how to blame and punish not to feel compassion and love to each other. how couldn't anyone see what an evil bitch lives next door? because noone actually cared, and nothing is changed...

  • @telma0pudele Have to disagree. Based on my experiences growing up, I can tell you that a large percentage of kids are cruel to others because it makes them feel powerful. Face it, it's true. That's what parents and educators have to work to get children to overcome.

  • @vinylsingleman

and that's because noone had taugth them to feel compassion, rarely anyone ever does... because people are kind of heartles mostly...

  • What's wonderful to consider is that there are worse things that happen to people that never get surfaced or made into full-length feature films for people to scowl at.

Here's to humanity, the sick fucks like Gertrude, and the people that fall prey to them. It's likely we won't ever know about most of them and they'll all die silently in a basement somewhere, covered in cigarette burns and abuse.

  • That bastard, Coy Hubbard, I dare him to pick me for his judo bravado. Shameless prick. Hope he rotted.

  • When will life means life. The evil Gertude was out on parole after 20 years. She 'showed remorse' when she became eligible for parole. Pooh! What shit! The the other evil children of hers, Paula and John, old enough to fuck and should have been tried as adult, should have been charged for murder and hanged.

Don't fall into the left-wing pussy footing blame society syndrome. They are church and knew right from wrong, so fuck them. They deserve to die, together with their evil mother.

  • @lye54 Paula was tried as adult. Like her mother, she appealed & at 2d trial got lesser sentence, even after escaping from prison. Stephanie also played a role in the torture, tho it was overlooked in the film. She got off because she testified AGAINST Gert 7 Paula, but her real motive was testifying FOR her boyfriend COY HUBBARD. John B was youngest child ever at the state reformatory. He's now dead.

  • I do not understand . those kids are 8 to 15 years old. they know right and wrong.

those kids and their mom are animals. and plus they all went to church.

these people thought tourture is ok because they do not belive in KARMA.

this is one reason i gave up on Christianity and the other stupid religons that goes along with.

  • There are so many spelling mistakes in this I cannot take it seriously. LEARN TO SPELL.

  • beautiful, touching, speechless, tears..

  • I just watched An American Crime, a decent movie, but I don't think it captured what happened to Sylvia Likens. I've spent about 8 hours so far looking this up online. The entire transcript of the trial is online with many pics, i haven't downloaded it yet as it's a PDF file. I did see one pic of Sylvia lying on the mattress at 6:20 in this vid, she was dead, her body was covered with cigarette burns. I've seen some vids on YouTube of Gerties parole hearing that show Gertie and Jenny in 1985

  • You did an exceptional job with this video. I hope that every one of those fuckers who tortured Sylvia suffered twice as much pain.

  • I hope Sylvia haunted that fucking monster for the rest of her life.

  • @Haimait I don't then sylvia would have to see her killer everyday

  • somebody told me the house where this happened (3850 E New York St, Indianapolis) was recently tore down.. I used to drive past it all the time and it would just creep me out.. it had that shady scary feeling like the Amityville house or something. People lived there for a long time, but it was pretty ramshackle and in a ghetto-ee part of town, although I don't know what that area was like in 1965.

  • @ascheylus I lived in the house in the 80s. My daughter had the room that she died in. I did not know it at the time that it was the house that she died in. I drove pass it several times after I move. My husband would not go down in the basement because he felt something. I did though. My husband seen a women in white run up the steps and disappear in my daughter room. My son had the smaller room. I am glad they tore it down. I am going to see the memorial at the park.

  • im taking a moment of silence in memory of sylvia who was branded on october 23 1965 45 YRS AGO TODAY!!!! :( R.I.P Sylvia

  • @mjlego77 wow, what a coincidence, i´ve just watched the movie and didnt know that!!!

  • @mjlego77 RIP

  • @amazingolme I was thinking the same thing when I watched the film and read about the case. However, even kids from the town were participated in the beatings and torture. Unfortunately, when that "mob" mentality/behavior starts, even so called "good " kids are vulnerable. I grew up in a tough neighborhood and remember being amazed by how easily some of my peers could be influenced. Certain kids will do just about anything to become part of the larger more powerful social group

  • @amazingolme really?

  • This is so sad !!

    Im sorry sylvia Im sorrry

  • beautiful video. thanks for this it helped me understand the american crime better

  • alot of this isnt true read the book "house of evil" and it explains everything in full detail

  • such a heart breaking

  • I wish I lived next door to beat the shit out of them all. Poor angel, may she have a thousand fold reward, may she have mine as well. :(

  • Anna Siscoe, judy Drake, Randy Lepper, Mike Monroe and Darlene McGuire. The kids who beat here for amusement.I wonder,How would one find the addresses to these animals? That was 65, I wors Born 73 theyre not that much older tha me.I would love to meet them.

  • @scumgod13 Siscoe recently died. Lepper's dead. Judy Duke is alive & in the same neighborhood. Havn't looked up MacGuire in awhile. Other neighbors are still alive.

  • Actually Gertrude's house on East New York street in Indianapolis was demolished, it's no longer there.
