You can enable your taskbar by disabling unity. How to do that??? Well you must choose from "Ubuntu Classic" on your login screen when starting Ubuntu. On logon screen first choose user (if more than one or just one nevermind just click on it), now you will see options on the bottom of your screen, then select the "Ubuntu classic" then type in your pass and you are set to go.
I dont mind unity but I fucking want my taskbar back. I mean, I'm not on a netbook, I have space for a fucking taskbar. anyone know how to enable taskbar?
Next generation window manager? Unity and Gnome shell both SUCK!!!! Unity is just god awful it has the Atari 2600 feel to it. While Windows 7 and Mac feel and work like xbox 360 and Ps3. After falling in love with the Linux OS 5 years ago and jumping for joy with Ubuntu One. I find my heart broken by the shit desktop that's coming. Gnome was so easy and simple for multi tasking! I tried 11.04 Unity is just a horrible feel. Sorry Linux your just not ready to be a real desktop back to Windows 7
What is with this dramatic shit? You can install Gnome 2.x and remove Unity completely if you like. I highly doubt you were ever a "linux fan" if you decided to go back to Windows over a UI. That's why there are LTS versions, they are bug free and wont update until the software is stable. So go 10.04, or enjoy Windows lol.
dios pero ubuntu es e mejor sistema operativo para mi y todavia ay personal que cres q windows xp 7 vista le gana a ubuntu por dios abras eso ojos !! y mira esta bella cosa! que si es para personal normale saludos bello tu video amigo!! :D

@Msiletta1 Don't knock it til ya try it. Gnome 3 also has a similar interface anyway, and thats where all Gnome-based OSs will be upgrading to.

How did you enabled compiz "cube" plugin on Unity?

Why is it so slow? What I like about Ubuntu is the speed. This is like the 1998 all over again...

Unity + a dock? What's the point of that?
Rokalacs 1 year ago 16
@Rokalacs You could say, what's the point of unity if it just duplicated the functionality of the dock.
NeedBetterLoginName 10 months ago
@Rokalacs Less scrolling in the dash? I know that's what i would do.
