@jlsmsu12 He won the Biletnikoff and was a freak athlete. He was an amazing player to watch, and he's a Spartan. It doesn't matter that he didn't become a star or that he has drug issues. He was a hero.
Oh and look to your right and scroll down a little bit... you will see a guy in a broncos Uniform laying on the ground picking at a table, what about that guy?
One of the greatest college football frauds in recent memory; MSU program always listed him as 6' 4", but Lions found out too late he wasn't even 6' 1". Ouch.
@MrThatswhatshesaid12 Danny Wuerfel sucked dick. He was like 30 when he won the heisman, he was doomed from the start anyway. Eric Crouch had only athletic talent, not football talent. JaMarcus was indeed a huge bust.
@MrThatswhatshesaid12 aahhaha lmao this dude went #2 top five bust of all time russells story aint over yet but for now bust eric crouch a bust how???he was even a first round draft pick ithink he was like a 3rd and for a 5"11 qb whit a hiesman trophy in his living room and gitt drafted not to fucking bad not bad at all and danny=chris wienkie nuff sed
One of the greatest college football frauds in recent memory; MSU program always listed him as 6' 4", but Lions found out too late he wasn't even 6' 1". Ouch.
@FrankeeFraud considering they take height and weight measurements at the combine, if millen missed his height...regardless, no psurprises where that fuckstick is concerned
i say if he didnt get injured, he would be the next randy moss. injury ruined his life. the precription drugs was for the pan for his collarbone it fucked up his life.
Rogers was soo good. if never broke his collarbones 2 years in a row this guy would be the real deal. shame about injuries that probably got him into more off the field troubles..sad to see talent like this just dissappear..cant believe he ran a 4.2 aswell.
that's bullshit. Charles Rogers was a total piece of shit if he was blessed with all that talent and threw it all away with drugs and crimes. He ruined his own career, yet state fans still defend him. To be honest, it doesn't surprise me.
@QueenStreetBlood damn I didnt know rogers ran a 4.2 he had moss type talent thats nasty, i remember that Two TD catch game he had like 4-5 td in 3 games then broke his collarbone
yea ur right and the fact that millen drafted him. i think if he was drafted to another team that had the mentoring he would of been good wr in the nfl
Injuries started it but it was drugs that really finished Rogers off. He had a bad drug problem and if he didnt I think he would still be in the NFL and be a decent player.
Still, this is an outstanding play and an example of what he was able to accomplish. Yes, he has made some horrible mistakes since, but at least give this man that he was an outstanding college player. When shit hit the fan in the program in 2002, he stuck it out and played tremendous game after game. I know, he is a druggie now and doesn't deserve many more chances, but he was a great Spartan who did not ever give up and provided some very memorable plays. Go Green Chuck, we still care about ya
He might have been a great spartan, but he was and is a druggie. He failed multiple drug tests throughout college and was on the NFL substance abuse watchlist when he came into the league. That said the only people who should be blaimed for this are the scouts/GM who ignored the red flags
but in terms of physical talent, rogers was far and away in a class by himself,,the guy ran a legit 4.28 40. i guess people didn't want to make the same mistake they made when they let Randy Moss drop to 21 overall.
22 catches for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns through five games into his rookie season. Yeah, awful pick in hindsight, after he got injured. But most thought he was a can't-miss prospect. I guess they should've consulted you before they picked since you knew Andre would be where he's at today.
weed doesn't fuck people's lives up. Lazy people fuck lives up. Do you think he started smoking weed when he got drafted by the Lions? No, he has probably been smoking weed since he was 13.
Also, it's funny what people will argue about. By the way it's also funny that "MU" has the best talent in college and MSU produces as many pro players as "MU". You know, the kind of players that catch the Super Bowl winning TD etc.
Well,Roy Williams isn't that shabby and I think Calvin Johnson is a Playmaker.
PS~Mike Williams,Joey Harrington, and Charles Rogers all shouldn't have been picked. These picks were all Matt Millens falt so good thing he is gone or it would have gotten a whole lot worse.
Charles was by far my favorite MSU player ever, he came from my hometown, he was amazing, I just wish he would have made some smarter choices after college, he had a lot of potential.
hey msu thanks for producing an overrated piece of shit who cant even crack a cfl team. you have one decent player in the whole goddamn nfl and its burress.
I guess we're just not counting Flozell Adams (one of the league's best OL), Julian Peterson (All-pro linebacker) or Derrick Mason (103 rec last year at 34 years old).
what a response. You come up with 3 players all slightly above average. I could sit here and name michigan players but seriously, whats the point in arguing with an msu fan. Get out of my shadow.
Like Michigan has that many GREAT players in the NFL right now. Of course Brady, Braylon had a good season and Ty Law had a good career. Everyone else sucks... Plus Michigan should have more because they get all the talent. Just like MSU does at basketball... look at how many NBA players came from MSU compared to Michigan
By the way where did the All Time Leader in Points scored in the NFL go to college? Oh ya Morten Andersen went to Michigan State

TRUTH!! Pathetic Lions will NEVER Win. Shoulda built their offense around charles when he came back and covered up his indisgressions like winning orgs do.
first of all i want to say i loved coach bobby williams, he was a coach that cleatly wasnt given a fair chance taking over a program that had so so talent and one superstar. second of all charles rodgers was one of msu's best recievers! ....but he did screw up i will admit! SPARTYON!!!!!
Bobby Williams was a joke and he embarrassed the university and himself. He lost 49-3 to Michigan for Christ sake. The whole program was in shambles, players were on drugs, so on and so forth. Then his sorry ass tried to play the race card when they finally got rid of him. Good riddence.
