I am a black descent and I agree. The reason why you don't see Asian singers in America that sing in English and are popular like Beyonce is because it's due to racism. Most of the music that originated from Asia happens to be country and has slow lyrics and rhythms to them that ACTUALLY teach people something about life. However, ever since rap and hip hop have rise their popularity in the U.S. pop culture, more Americans will prefer this kind of genre to that of other genres....

If we ever saw an Asian star rapping to hip hop, we tend to believe that this person is acting black or Ghetto. Since rap has originated from African Americans, I don't think we would like to see other ethnics trying to rap or copy our music. Because of racist issue, most of Hollywood wouldn't want to hire an Asian rapper & they just selling what the population would buy.

Another thing is that most of the Asian singers and bands are VERY popular in East Asia, (Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, etc..) when singing in their native tongues already. These countries consist of a VERY big population, more than the U.S. therefore, I think most of the Asian singers feel more comfortable when majority of their audience who has the same race as them, supports them. They don't want to stay in America and face discrimination or come out of their comfort zone.
