i love the look of your pigeons and loft i realy think that you should get into racing them its a lot of fun and you look like u have the space thanks
Answer to question #1 is... you don't. Once they lay eggs is the way I tell.
Answer to question #2 is...the short answer is if they have been trained to home to the old loft, do not ever fly them, they will return there. If they were only loft flying and not being road tossed and homed at the old loft, they MAY stay around your loft if left to loft fly, but I would not road toss them. NO GUARANTEES THEY WILL STAY AROUND IF FLOWN. If you do , I would keep them in a minimum of 3 months.
Wow, you must of really been watching close to catch that! I had to help one out to save some time so the video wasn't too long. They usually go out without me catching them. They know it's fly time when I open the trap and set up the cage. So they are happy to load up.
Yea, it's almost no touch, sometimes they need a little incentive, but for the most part, when I open the door, they go out. These birds can not go 500 miles, but some varieties of pigeons can.
in ireland we have a reverse trap that goes onto the basket . you should train them as squabs to trap in the basket . your whites are very classy birds
I bought the cage at the local feed store for $20 or $30, it is actually a rabbit cage that I bought for separating my chickens when they need it, but found it works great for loading the pigeons.
Wait for them to lay eggs, the female sit from around 5pm to 10 am, the male sits from around 10 am to 5 pm.

Homing pigeons are amazing. Its almost unbelieveable how they find their way. Also some of the speeds the racing ones reach is insane!

I like your pigeons, but I have 2 questions please...
1) How do you know if they're males or females when they're babies ?
2) If I buy an adult pair, how long should I keep them locked until they forget their old place & get used to the new one ?
Thank you

do u race them? and is it true that White pigeons are falcon/ hawk bate? and should not be use for racing

All pigeons are hawk bait! Being a white pigeon just makes them learn to fly faster when a hawk is around. I don't race at all.
